    Smells like BS to me.

Nothing better to do with your life than troll? I’m sure your dad would be proud.

I hate the smell of BS

Your comment smells like butthurt 2 me.

        Agreed. :)

$400 price coming in February / March I bet

    • John Mumpitz

why should they? selling 2.000.000 in 18 days is fantastic and it proofs that if you want a PREMIUM ALL-IN-ONE PACKAGE $499 is a very good price. and well deserved.

      • Anonymous

After the holiday people ain’t going to buying it as a gift as least drop the kinect

        • dem0n0cracy

The kinect is what makes it stand out. You however, should go stand in the corner.

        • Does Not Equal

You still speak of Kinect as though it’s optional like it was for the 360. It’s not.

  • Desmond Shepherd

    Congrats on the successful launch!

  • donnyskillz

The butthurtness is strong with this one …it is, lmaoooooooo

  • http://www.obscure-weblog.com Eddie ObsCure

    US only

    • trfe

These are global numbers dummy. Shoulda stayed in school huh?

  • IvanCD(MaidenLOKO)

I bet a lot of people around the gaming sites will take that with a yellow smile…Anyways it´s great news and congrats. I hope MS keeps the updates on schedule to address other important things the community already pointed out!

  • Luke David

Congrats on the successful launch! Well done to all involved :) Personally loving my Xbox One!

  • donnyskillz

Your right they dont want to hear this especially since microsoft did it in only 13 markets, I want to see if they blast this news like they blasted it when sony said they sold 2 million @IGN

    • IvanCD(MaidenLOKO)

gaming journalism nowadays is a joke!

    • usrev

but sony did it in 2 days.

stop seeing what you WANT to see and see the whole picture.

sony sold 2 million units in like 2 days. they have been sold out pretty much world wide. the moment a store gets some in stock they are quickly sold. sony launched in all but 1 major market (japan) which is does OK in, but better compared to the other consoles. japan is about hand helds now, vita remote play might make it sell though

MS sold 2 million units in 18 days but only officially launched in 13 countries, what you seem to ignore is MS launched in the markets they get the most marketshare.. xbone in those 13 countries will probably sell more then the rest of the world combined heck, the xbone in the US alone will probably sell more than the rest of the world combined.

      • arrow2010

Sony sold 1 million in the first weekend. 2.1 million in 10 days.

        • usrev

they sold 1 million the day they launched in NA and were sold out.

they then launched in EU and sold a million there as well and are now sold out in the EU.

      • Tomo

According to vgcharts, Sony sold 2 million in 14 days…

        • usrev

they sold 1 million the day they launched in NA and were sold out.

they then launched in EU and sold a million there as well and are now sold out in the EU.

they sold 99% of their stock on 2 different days that just happen to be 14 days apart.

also vgchartz is terrible for a source.

  • David Dalfonso

that is asking a lot considering it is only in 13 markets and not 21 like ps4 and they also did their numbers in 18 days….

    • Veive TwoFiftySeven

Microsoft scaled back their own launch by choice, it wasn’t a limitation imposed on them. They chose to go smaller and ignore several markets.

    • Veive TwoFiftySeven

Nov 15 – Dec 1 is less than 18 days

  • Satsumo

Well done Xbox Team – loving the X1 and I have faith you guys will keep on delivering.

  • Pete

Loving my Xbox One! Congrats on the launch.

P.S. Also loving my PS4, 360, PS3 and slightly aging PC. It is fun watching people pointlessly bicker that theirs is best though :-)

    • Amkof

+1 to this. I’ve always preferred Xbox, but I’m a gamer, I play everything.

    • evilfangs .

I can’t wait to pick my PS4 up in a year or two, I missed playing all the PS3 exclusives.

      • Dylan

Hopefully they have that Gaikai system set up for you by then so you can catch up.

It’d be a real shame to miss all of Naughty Dog’s games from last gen, I’d say they’re the best developer in the world right now.

  • DaeJim

I think many are surprised that it sold 2 million to begin with so fast.
PS4 might be selling more currently but that doesn’t make this 2 million less impressive.

  • Gametag Elite Ghost 0

    Congrats

  • avi

    awesome. keep it up!. :D

  • lll NaS lll

    Congrats!

  • http://www.ign.com/blogs/johntherenegade JohnTheRenegade

I’ve been using mine everyday for a lot more than just games. It’s a great system now, but I’m more excited by the prospect of how you guys will refine and improve it in the coming months/years.

  • https://twitter.com/#!/BeeDizz BeeDizz

Glad to be apart of it. Thoroughly enjoying the Xbox One.

  • roozbeh, again

    Fantastic job MS.

I personally doubted you would hit this milestone so soon.

  • Dennis Crosby

That’s some impressive numbers 2 million in 18 days and you guys are keeping up with the ps4 and it release in 19 more countries good job Microsoft

  • https://live.xbox.com/MyXbox/Profile?gamertag=DarkGin87 Lee Rayson (DarkGin87)

Import one if you really want it

  • Kif12345

After all the spinoffs and lies MS did, You people still believe MS? lol

MS sold only 1.2 million and not 2 million. While the competition is above 2 million…

    • AdrianHD

      Where are the official numbers?

      • iSoar

        Why don’t you ask Sony?

    • Gabrielsp85

      You’re definitely an idiot

    • Kevin Bradley

      Source or GTFO.

    • Rhys

1.2m is a little low. That said I do smell some M$ BS. I mean according to M$ windows 8 and surface were selling well until it got to the point they couldn’t BS anymore. I suspect they are rounding up allot to get to 2m.

    • Reinier Martinez

Are you retarded or something? Do you think Microsoft is going to lie about numbers with the IRS paying close attention to them? Sure, Microsoft lies and then evades paying the corresponding taxes for those 1 million sales difference you mention… >_<

  • Rhys

I wonder is MS is rounding up from 1.7m?

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

      isn’t that how math works?

      • Rhys

Wise up dude. That’s how marketing works. If Microsoft had sold 2.3m you could bet your bottom dollar they would include the extra .3.

  • Brian Kvalheim

    Great console with great sales.

  • Moake

Release the X1 to Belgium!!! We’re good enough to pay for your xbox live, so why not for your new entertainment system…..

  • Guest

And they’re succeeding too. GAF and N4G are cringeworthy ATM. Such a huge amount of butthurt among the $0N¥ Ph0n3yz out there.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

i bet it took you a long time to write sony phonies that way. lots of of backspacing and internet research.

      • Does Not Equal

        “dollarzeronyen phzeronthreeyz”

  • NarcoSleepy

Been enjoying my XBox One since launch, and use it daily. What’s best about it? I only ever need to look for the controller when I want to play a game.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

i just feel silly shouting as my tv all the time.

      • NarcoSleepy

I use my normal conversational voice to use commands. I’ve even whispered at it and it still works, assuming the room is quiet enough. It’s really important to turn up the volume when prompted during calibration. The first time through calibration, I didn’t turn up the volume and the experience was poor. The second time, I turned the TV volume way up during calibration and it worked great. The challenge after that is learning all of the commands.
Third-parties need to step up their game with the voice commands, though. Netflix works, but some missed opportunities with regards to navigation while watching a series. The Amazon Instant Watch app needs a lot of work, voice and otherwise.

  • Burnt Offering

Congratulations are in order. Without meaning to be snarky, that is a definite success considering the negative consumer response and chancy PR with this consoles pre-launch. And after they sold so many consoles, I found out last week that they are just now shipping out the Xbox One that I won in their MVP giveaway. So I am happy.

  • m1nh0ca

That’s an achievement… but vgchartz say another number.

But, well, I’m not excited at all to get a XOne by now.
Let’s see what the future will reserve…

    • TheRealArgonaut

VGChartz? You mean that site that overcorrects their mistakes with millions of units at a time?

No matter what Pachter says, their numbers are completely unreliable. The sell through of the PS3 proved it as it was down corrected by about a million units about a month or so ago as Sony’s own official numbers showed what many had been saying on that site that the PS2 was still selling quite a huge amount and Sony was merely combining their PS2 and 3 numbers to make it seem larger when it wasn’t just like the Vita’s failure numbers prove every tme.

VGChartz is a bad joke, just like NeoGAF and N4G.

    • roozbeh, again

Since when is vgchartz more accurate than numbers announced by Microsoft?

They said that the PS3 sold more than Xbox 360 earlier this year, which eurogamer proved to be BS. I don’t know why any one would take them seriously.

      • m1nh0ca

I trust vgchartz in the same level I trust Microsoft. That’s to not say “zero”.

        • roozbeh, again

No offence, but I think you are a bit misguided.

        • Corellianrogue

You do realise that Microsoft are legally required to supply accurate sales data? I’m not saying Microsoft (or any big company with dubious connections) should always be trusted but generally you can trust sales data from them. VGChartz however have no legal obligations to supply accurate sales data (and don’t even actually have accurate sales data, just estimates based on data from a number of retailers) so could make up whatever they want if they want to and regularly make massive corrections sometimes months later and hope nobody notices. Their Kinect numbers for example were (and I think still are) WAY off, I’m talking MILLIONS off.

  • http://photovoltaik.bandcamp.com/ Ujn Hunter

I knew there were some dumb people in this world… but…

  • Guest

Aw man, $0N¥ Paupers be crying that a $100 more expensive box is managing to keep up even after all the false BS they’ve been spreading about it on the internetz to try and make it fail. Cry me a river $0N¥ basement dwellers.

    • ElektroDragon

Why are you a hater? I own both consoles and Xbox One being underpowered in the GPU department is cold hard FACT. That they have talented teams like Crytek with the know how to cover up for that FACT and make a great looking non-1080p game like Ryse (which I finished, btw) is very smart of Microsoft.

      • evilfangs .

Ryse was actually a decent game, I don’t see why it got a poor review score.

        • IvanCD(MaidenLOKO)

they reviewed the game at E3…then everything about it that came after E3 was simply forgotten!

i really hope that the moronic reviews (as Gamespot one) don´t kill the franchise…in my opinion Ryse as franchise has a huge potential..

        • ElektroDragon

I don’t know either, I think people don’t appreciate a game that a normal gamer can actually finish anymore. I feel 90% of games are way too long. The best games are the ones that are only long if you want them to be (i.e. Skyrim).

      • Corellianrogue

Ryse was 1080p before the graphics upgrade. Reducing it to 900p would only reduce the graphics if they kept the graphics being rendered the same but they didn’t, they improved them which is why the final 900p game looks even better than the 1080p E3 version. Also it’s easily the best looking next-gen launch game so what exactly are Crytek covering up? (Other than changing the game from a Kinect controlled game to a joypad controlled game, since I don’t believe it was a design decision I think they were just scared by all the irrational Kinect haters, especially the reviewers, but in the end it didn’t do them much good as far as the reviews went since they seem to hate joypad controlled arcade-style hack & slash games too unless they’re called “God Of War” so gave it unfairly bad reviews. It’s worth at least 75% in my opinion, it’s like a next-gen Golden Axe (thinking of the original arcade game) only without most of the fantasy stuff and unfortunately without multiplayer in the campaign mode.)

And Quantum Break is the best looking next-gen game shown so far so what is the Xbox One underpowered compared to? A super high-end PC? OK, but it costs a vast amount less and its games can be optimised better as the developers don’t have to worry about loads of different specs and setting a minimum requirement like they do with PC versions of games.

        • ElektroDragon

Compared to PS4. The numbers don’t lie. Look at some Anandtech articles for starters. Not like I’ll ever convince a raving Xbox fantatic of anything though, so don’t bother.

          • Corellianrogue

“The numbers don’t lie.” I seriously doubt you even understand those numbers. Also during the “Hot Chips” presentation it was confirmed that the Xbox One had extra chips that Microsoft wouldn’t talk about so they’re currently a mystery to the press at least. 1 chip they have talked about is the audio chip which does a lot more than the PS4′s audio chip and can do all the audio processing whereas the PS4 has to do some of its audio processing on the GPU of all places. Also the version of Direct X 11 that the Xbox One currently uses is better than the version of OpenGL (OrbisGL I think) that the PS4 currently uses, one of the developers confirmed this recently but I forgot who.

At the end of the day show me the games? Show me a PS4 game that looks better than Quantum Break for example? People can claim the PS4 has better graphics than the Xbox One until the cows come home but if there aren’t any actual PS4 games that have better graphics than the best looking Xbox One games then all the talk is pointless.

  • Mitchell Hall

Way to go guys ! Picked up mine on day one at midnight and haven’t looked back! Amazing system with an amazing line up of exclusive games now and in the future ! Show us more of sunset overdrive!!!

  • Jason Lafitte

the real question is, how many people bought fighter within, rage quitted after 5 minutes, and swore they would never buy another Kinect game?

    • ElektroDragon

I rage quit my rental of it within 5 minutes, returned it to Gamefly without even trying to get an Achievement, and swore I’d never try another Kinect fighting game. Does that count?

  • Danny Hogan

    Congrats Xbox Team !

  • b0rgie

Awesome job and congrats XBox team!

Now can we *please* get Dolby Digital support for optical out, so our headsets are not useless? Yes, I know we use them as stereo headsets, but it’s silly to not have DD support. Can we AT LEAST get a timeline of when it will be added? Next week? 3 months? 2015?

What do we need to do or how much noise do we have to make to actually get an answer?

  • Etnos

Good news! I’m enjoying my One more than I thought I would.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

good idea. set your expectations low so that anything pleases you.

      • Liquidfx Xboxdude

i actually like my x1 as well.

  • Tony G

Got my XB1 on Day 1 and love everything about it. I do wish some features would be added or fixed that the community has suggested, but I know that takes time. In the meantime I’ll enjoy my XB1 and gaming, not complaining about nonsense.

    • Jeremy Mattsen

      Couldn’t agree more.

    • Danny Hogan

I agree and look forward to what Microsoft fixes and adds to the console in the future !

  • Ilovegoogleglass

    Nice, congratulations!

  • roozbeh, again

    2000 000*500=1000 000 000$ *IN ONLY 18 DAYS*

That is ONE BILLION $ for those who can’t count.

Maybe Elop should reconsider the selling/spin of the Xbox division.

    • Death Dealer

Yes and it’s making more profit per unit than the competition too. For a product that has a higher pricepoint it is quite impressive.

      • Ilovegoogleglass

        Oh

      • ElektroDragon

Easy to make more profit per unit when you don’t spend much on aesthetic design (giant box) and throw in cheaper RAM and a smaller GPU. EDIT: AND don’t throw in a rechargeable battery for the controller, that’s $25 extra please!

        • RossageSausage

I personally think the PS4 is ugly. Aesthetics are personal opinion.

      • Dylan

They spent a crapload of dollars on R&D for the Kinect, I don’t think they’re making a profit quite yet.

        • BlessTheKid

Why do we care about this again?

          • Dylan

Uhh he brought up that they’re making more profit per unit, and it is debatable.

    • Anonymous

I think the Xbox brand should have a spin off but still owned by Microsoft like it was before 2010 when Microsoft made the Xbox brand the One Microsoft garbage now you have a bunch of men in suit who know nothing about gaming working on the Xbox One

      • roozbeh, again

Well, Ballmer is leaving anyway. So what the hell?

    • usrev

      revenue =/= profit.

the cost of the system is probably $450, they probably sell to stores at $475 which the store sell for $500.

so 2million * $25 so 50million at best from console sales, which isn’t enough to recover r&d costs at all.

MS will turn profit probably next year.

      • roozbeh, again

I pretty much agree. I was just pointing out that they have good momentum right now.

        • Shawn Springer

Actually the WHOLE XBOX department is funded by Patents from Android OS. They pay out billions and it goes to XBOX to do the games. They didnt make any money on the first release.. Second release maybe some. But spending millions on joystick and KINECT is what killed production.

          • MobileVortex

            hahahahahahahaha

      • arrow2010

So why would Elop sell off a still profitable unit?

  • Reinier Martinez

    PS4, 2.1 million units, 2 weeks, 32 markets.
Xbox One, 2 million units, 2 weeks, 13 markets, $100 more than the PS4.

Best way to annoy haters and tell them to go F* themselves… :P

    • Guest

      ihuds

A lot of people like myself bought BOTH which might explain the similar numbers. Judging by the colorful language, the only hater around here is YOU. Fanboys are haters by definition.

Don’t forget that PS4 has yet to release in Japan, where Sony consoles dominate.

      • RossageSausage
