Dash Text: Assassin’s Creed® Liberation HD, is the remastered striking chapter of the pre-American Revolution Assassin’s Creed saga . The year is 1765. As the events leading up to the American Revolution heat up in the north, Spanish forces plan to take control of Louisiana in the south – but they have yet to reckon with Aveline, an Assassin with a French and African mixed heritage, who finds herself on an unforgettable journey that will take her from the crowded streets of New Orleans to voodoo-haunted swamps and ancient Mayan ruins. Taking full advantage of its new hardware, Assassin’s Creed® Liberation HD introduces graphical improvements and new missions that dive deeper into Aveline’s story.

Assassin's Creed Liberation HD

As Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD marks the debut of Assassin Aveline de Grandpré on Xbox 360, we asked Ubisoft what was new for the HD version of the game. Ubisoft Community Developer Gabe Graziani answered the call with the following:

For Aveline’s first visit to the Xbox 360, we wanted to make sure that she put her best foot forward, and we’ve compiled a list of just three of those things to ensure you don’t miss them!

Agaté’s Hideout – Agaté is Aveline’s mentor and he lives deep in the swampy bayou. His hideout climbs nearly to the top of a gigantic tree, with ramshackle rooms built one on top of another in a crazy stack, barely clinging to the tree for support. Agaté’s Hideout illustrates a few major improvements in Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, but primarily shows off the improved organic environments as well as Aveline’s upgraded ability to move through it using refined navigation mechanics that smooth out climbing and running paths.

Wicked Whip – Aveline’s trademark whip acts similar to the Rope Dart used by Edward Kenway and his grandson Connor, but with one key improvement: she can use it to swing across gaps. Sure, it’s devastating in combat and you can use it to trip up enemies to make them more vulnerable, but the added swinging ability means that Aveline is among the most mobile and nimble Assassins yet!

High Performance – We’ve pushed the AnvilNext Engine to deliver a truly HD gaming experience, and you’ll notice right away that Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD runs at an incredibly smooth framerate. Tuned to take full advantage of high definition resolutions, our team has completely reworked textures to pack in the maximum amount of detail possible. Everything has been boosted, from more vibrant colors to re-mastered music and sound effects!

Join Aveline de Grandpré, a liberator of the enslaved… and an Assassin!

Major – the season pass discount for this game isn’t showing up for a lot of people. it showing full price

    • SniperMaverick

I’m also wondering if the discount for season pass owners will be updated.

    • Putnum

I think there should be a discount for those who supported the development of the game by buying it on Vita.

Since it was Sony games it should be there side that would off a “discount for those who supported the development of the game”

    • fallouthirteen

Yeah, I can’t get the discount either. I know the AC4 season pass mentioned it when I bought it (12/30).

    • NBA Kirkland

It didn’t show for me at first, but less than 24 hours later it was fixed. I purchased it at a discount through the Xbox 360 dashboard. You have to have purchased the AC4: Black Flag season pass for Xbox 360.

… Assassins’s Creed Liberation HD post.

      • The Truth Must Be Said

  • evilfangs .

Wasn’t it already HD to begin with? It’s not like the Vita is out putting standard definition is it?

    • The_Mad_Prophet

The Vita’s resolution is only one-quarter HD. So no, Liberation was not already in HD to begin with.

      • evilfangs .

Oh cool thanks, I didn’t know that. It looks so good I thought it was at least 720p HD.

  • roozbeh, again

You sure? Are you on the correct region on the website?

  • GmailIsDown

did you get the season pass for black flag a while ago? you get a discount on this game if you own that season pass i believe.

  • Sigognac

Just as an information, as I know:
    – Tomb Raider: Anniversary is an upgraded version of the classic, made with the “Tomb Raider Legend engine”.

    – Tomb Raider Legend presents a story that Underworld completes; but having played Underworld I think it can easily be played independantly (Underworld also apparently including a recapitualtion introduction).

Technically, as the last two have been out in this order, Underworld (out 2 years after Legend), seems more graphically achieved (movements, landscapes), but maybe it is a bit darker while the story unfolds.
I would personnaly choose Underworld, for the better visual and more varied moves, but you could look at some videos to follow your taste.

Still not showing me the discount price after a whole day

  • Jeremy Filth

    Yeah pretty close.

    • KesMonkey

      No. Not even close.
Vita’s resolution is known as qHD. The q stands for “quarter”.
      Vita has a resolution of 960 * 544 = 522,240 pixels.
      HD’s resolution is 1280 * 720 = 921,600 pixels.
      True HD’s resolution is 1980 * 1080 = 2,138,400 pixels.

  • chris

Wow, screwed again with it priced at $26.95. This is Australia price, but should be the same as American pricing, it is an arcade game not Games on Demand.

  • Hyecto

Is ac liberation necessary for the main storyline?
