Download Lightning Returns Demo Here

The final chapter of the Lightning saga, LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII, is just 3 weeks away. However, you don’t have to wait until February 11th to get a handle on the garb-swapping battle system – you can download the demo right now.

You’ll guide Lightning as she traverses the chaos-infested Yusnaan palace of her old ally, Snow. Here’s a nice touch: players who complete the demo and activate Outerworld services within the game to submit their battle score will unlock the ‘Siegfried’ outfit in the full retail game. Note: you want this!

Yoichi Wada’s baby. One game in the series was enough.

    • Mitchell Hall

You are such a loser dude. Any time I see you commenting on ANYTHING its to bash it or go on about something negative. I feel bad for you man. You’re a fkin trainwreck.

      • Brian Ghattas

I’m not the one sucking up to multi-millionaires to curry favor. That would be you, Mitchell.

        • Mitchell Hall

Yeah you totally caught me. I suck up to multibillion dollar companies because I believe they’re going to hook me up. Are you delusional ? I like xbox. So I say that I like xbox. I also like ps4. I own both systems right now. I play my Xbox a lot more at the moment because it has better games but when games like infamous come out my ps4 is going to get a ton of playtime as well. You’re just the crazy guy that tries to bash anything as long as it’s on major nelsons blog. What kind of life you must lead I don’t even want to envision.

          • Brian Ghattas

You’re just mad because I got to post first or something?

Many people aren’t fans of Final Fantasy XIII and want to see a return to the classic style of JRPG. I wanted to give my opinion and then you come in with your e-friends giving me downvotes left and right.

What are these better XOne games? Ryse with its great 720p graphics and repetitive gameplay? Dead Rising 3 with its 13 GB mandatory update and unchanged gameplay from prior installments? Forza 5 with its lack of tracks, cheaters and microtransactions? Peggle 2 (the only game I would like to play) which is also plagued with all the telltale signs of DLC? If you bought an Xbox One for those games, you should have waited. I guess peer pressure got to you.

          • IvanCD(MaidenLOKO)

Did you play these games by yourself?

          • Brian Ghattas

‘m sure Dead Rising 3 with 2 players might be fun but Microsoft’s console is kind of gimped unless you’re either American or British. Canadians can’t access many of the features of the One and so it’s simply not worth $100 more than the PS4 at this time. I’d pay $299 for the machine simply because it isn’t fair for Canadians to pay the same price as the Americans and be kept from using its most touted non-video game features. My laptop allows me to use all these features. My PS4 is solely for gaming and some minor surfing…and watching desperate attention seekers with their girls responding to comments by randy teenage boys hitting on said girls.

Saw your video. You don’t sound like much.

          • Mitchell Hall

Um.. sorry, what? No idea what you’re talking about.. but on another note, you would think that after the way you get down voted for every moronic thing you say, you would either stop commenting on things or at the very least maybe take a look at yourself and think hmm maybe there IS something wrong with me .

          • Brian Ghattas

So being a bum buddy with the people here constitutes normalcy? I pass.

For the record, I suffer from mental illness. The stupidity and ignorance of our society has made me very sick. People are defending recording artists who abuse Autotune, for Pete’s sake.

Did you try XIII-2? The story is nonsensical sure, but it was a VAST improvement.

      • Brian Ghattas

I didn’t get a chance. It wasn’t on my radar. Maybe I’ll try it out on PS Now. The first game left a bad taste in my mouth.

        • Dylan

Same here. I went about 35 hours into XIII and couldn’t take it anymore.

The big differences is that the combat is actually pretty fun and fluid, there are towns (kinda) with side quests and MOST IMPORTANTLY it doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s about 20, maybe 25 hours. Also there are some dialogue choices now. Which is actually kind of great because whenever a character says something really stupid (a staple in all FF games), it isn’t really out of place because you chose it to get a laugh.

Just don’t go expecting a great time travel plot, it’s a little hokey, but who knows, you might enjoy it.

          • Brian Ghattas

I expect it to be on both the PS4’s and XO’s Cloud services so I will try it out then. I’m not going back to PS3/Xbox 360 gaming as I expect the best of both consoles’ libraries to be available to stream on their respective successors.

Looks great! I can’t wait to see if Machinima does a….. oh wait – never mind!

  • Lucky13X

Is this Siegfried from Soul Caliber, or some character from the FFXIII series I have yet to meet?

  • Michael Cummings

When will the XboxOne be getting some love?

Demo should have been a bit longer but o well. Good demo tho the boss in the demo is a snap not even hard. Will hafta try it out on the 360 now.

  • Beano

    Lightninnng is HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • EldritchWarlord

I think FFXIII is alright, but you shouldn’t be kicking yourself over that. The cutscenes are much better than the rest of the game.

  • ElektroDragon

No space left on puny 320GB 360 drive, downloading it on my 1TB PS3. Same goes for purchases now, mind you.

  • John Smith

Because watching TV had gotten just so complicated without it.

  • Sanpei

wow, MS really has very clever people…

They could see one of the problems so quick !!
