Quick note, you need to fix the online store price, it’s listed as $59.99 and this game only costs $39.99. Great game for those who haven’t played it yet though. Also, look into the Lego the Movie Game, those are typically $49.99 yet I didn’t realize I paid a full $59.99 for the XBO version.

Not a big deal, the game is a lot of fun but I just wanted to point that out is all.

    • dark freedom

      Fisic format, 35$ everywhere.

    • Sean McCann

lego movie game for xbox one is $60 in stores so the prices match there, but not for rayman legends

    • evilfangs .

I just brought Lego the movie video game for £36 on X1. which is about the same price I use to pay for last gen games.

  • IccyAsd

“The Xbox One Games Store is not supported in your region at this time”
Isnt Xbox One Region Free now ?

    • evilfangs .

Has the Xbox one been released in your country?

    • FX2000

Go into Setting and change your region to US

      • Sean McCann

doing this will get you banned, you cant change country/region to circumvent pricing or avalibility

        • evilfangs .

It’s a region free console, I wouldn’t see why changing your region to US get you banned?

          • Bennijin

Tell that to the people who set their 360 region to Oman and made an Oman account when their marketplace got lots of free games.

          • evilfangs .

That’s because the 360 isn’t a region free console and the people made a Oman account and change their region to scam Microsoft which is against TOS.

          • Bennijin

The Xbox One may be region free but I would still be wary about accessing an Xbox store for a region you’re not in after that incident.

Of course if pricing was fairer and Xbox Live gave us more than meager scraps maybe people wouldn’t be tempted.

        • FX2000

The Xbox One is region free, you just need a valid payment method for the country in which you are purchasing the game. Buy a digital prepaid card and add the funds to your account.

    • mcmax3000

The discs are region free. It doesn’t necessarily mean that games will be sold digitally in all regions. In some cases (likely not this one, but just as an example), publishers only have the right to sell games in certain regions.

      • IccyAsd

Thanks @majornelson , it seems like region restriction is lifted. I can buy the games now =)

  • dibils

i didnt even know this was coming to xbox one lol heard good things though so might pick it up friday

  • http://about.me/chuck.yoder Chuck Yoder

I was looking forward to buying this as my second Xbox One game purchase (after Killer Instinct) but it’s currently $60 digitally instead of the MSRP of $40. Is this a pricing error?

    • Elan Gabriel

Hope so… If not – I want to know who their dealer is, they’re smoking some good stuff!

    • Sean McCann

i was told by xbox support that the content publisher sets the price, not xbox

  • mcmax3000

I was thinking about maybe pulling the trigger on this digitally if the file size wasn’t too bad (and it isn’t), since I have almost $25 in credit on my account, but not if it’s $20 more than the disc version. I’ll just go back, and play it on my 360 for that price.

  • Sledg

I just don’t understand this digital approach. Digital games should be cheaper.

    • NarcoSleepy

You can sort of blame retailers for this. I think the solution is to allow retailers to sell digital download codes. Once upon a time, Amazon used to do this. I don’t know why this suddenly changed a year or so ago, although they still sell online codes for Microsoft gift cards.

      • Sledg

I don’t really blame the retailers but they should be able to sell digital download codes. Amazon already does this for all the PS4 games. This is what I expected Xbox One to allow as well. I hate buying discs but it’s getting tough to justify digital downloads.

        • evilfangs .

I love buying discs, I get them much cheaper then digial and can sell them on after I’ve finished.

For example I sold GTA 5 and Ghosts on 360 the other day, got £44 plus £10 depoist for Titanfall on X1.

      • Dylan

Amazon has their own playstation download store and sells PC downloads. So it never went away, not sure what you’re talking about.

        • NarcoSleepy

I am referring to XBOX games. Not sure why you would assume I was referring to either PC or PS.

  • Senses Failed

    You greedy fools!

  • Allan

Got this one on Steam over Xmas (for a lot less than $60). It’s a good game, but I’m not sure I’d pay $60 for a side scroller.

    • Sean McCann

its $40 on a disc in stores, and nextgen version have no load times which is nice, but the digital price is not

  • Sean McCann

I thought the idea was to make people WANT to buy digital not charge them more for it

  • Tony G

Still wondering why the digital versions are way more than retail. The whole idea of digital is to cut out the middle men so your product is cheaper, IE: Steam.

    • dibils

they cant undercut the retailers who provide priceless amount of free advertisement and sell their consoles.

its commons sense, i still wonder how people cant get this through their head. but charging ALOT more then retail like in this situation.. i gotta say, must be a mistake

    • dibils

looks like i was right, it was a mistake

  • danjer047

Are you serious with this price point? The game is $39.99 for a disc-based game, which includes the game needing to be burned onto a disc, put into a retail box with printed materials, shipped to a retailer, bought, and then shipped to my house… But you charge $59.99 for the digital version that doesn’t require any of that? So much for “experimenting with digital game prices.”

    • Sean McCann

real competitive digital pricing right? i laughed this morning when i saw it, i have $68 in my microsoft account and was so ready to buy this digitally, looks like they lost a sale since i dont have the cash to buy it from Best Buy.

      • danjer047

It just doesn’t make business sense to me. I’m in the same boat. i have some credit saved up and wouldn’t mind picking this up for a change of pace. Can’t justify it at $60…

    • BooBee

Digital sales would go thru the roof if they gave a slight discount to retail but it most certainly would also increase significantly if they even just matched retail prices. I def wanted to grab this game for my kids in digital format but I’m stuck buying retail.

  • Steve

This has to be a mistake? Right…

  • Din Taylor

I guess more Digital sale testing is needed. Back to the lab. :p.

    • Ismokedthebanditwithaheadshot

And they can take the console, sorry Media center, with them and do some more testing on that as well.

      • Din Taylor

I like my Xbox one but I will give you a thumb up. The resolution/ frame rate problems and the Game with Gold and the weekly sales is a laughing stock.
I hope things will improve but they got a lot of work to do. If MS keeps this up they have no hope of catching up to Sony and with a $499 price tag its impossible.

  • Bennijin

Can’t see a UK price but it’s been £27 at ASDA, Amazon, The Game Collection and Grainger Games. Seems to be the going rate.

    ASDA had a £5 voucher too! (b’-’)b

  • Todd Wegman

This would have been an instant purchase for me at $39.99… I thought Microsoft wanted digital games to be more competitively priced???? Who is making the decisions at Microsoft? In a few months I will be able to find this game used for under $20.

    • Todd Wegman

Now it is $39.99= this will be a buy for me:)

  • Flawless

its pretty obvious its a pricing error but people are commenting as if its supposed to be that price, dunno if trolling or srs. Ryse still shows as $60 for me also they just are slow at fixing anything related to X1.

    • Sean McCann

According to Microsoft its the publisher who sets this price, so its in Ubisofts court now

      • Flawless

xbox support gave you a generic answer, their support is clueless.

i guess you think the publisher goes into MS’s systems to set the price LOL.

        • Nick Peck

Huh? It’s not made by MS, they don’t set the price. I’m sure it is or will be getting looked into as something is clearly wrong. Unless that’s how Ubi is trying to cover the cost of the lower priced disc copy, who knows.

          • Flawless

did i say it was made by MS?

is it being sold on Ubisofts servers?no its not its being sold on MS’s so its up to them to fix the pricing.

          • Nick Peck

I just re-read what you posted, I read it the wrong way and see what you meant. But yes, it is UBI’s mess up for sure.

  • ElektroDragon

That’s funny. I can “keep” the brand new copy Gamefly shipped me and end up with the same game with physical disc and packaging for $31.49, not $60. Great value there, digital fans.

In any event, because this was a Wii U game originally, and an excellent one, you’re probably going to get the best gameplay on PS4 because of the touchpad on the controller. Just a PSA.

    • Senses Failed

Yes i would like to know this also. Ubisoft always seemed pretty good with digital pricing on xbox 360

  • CXK

It would be great if MS and the publisher could at least match retail deal prices on digital games. I’d certainly buy more and you’d have assurance I can’t trade it leaving publishers with another lost retail sale. The Ryse sale is on the right track, I hope we can all be loud enough for them to hear us.

    • Flawless

thats the thing though the “Ryse sale” is just that,a sale. if they wanna “test cheaper digital pricing” they have to do it with titles on release otherwise its just a “sale”.

      • CXK

That is true. I still believe they should price digital versions of new releases at $49.99. It would make the used games business less of a loss for publishers. If they really don’t want Gamestop getting what would have been their money for a game just give more incentive to buy digital. Steam is a great example. PC game piracy was everywhere but once they started selling games at a reasonable price they started making more money again. I sure as hell can’t go trade my digital version in, sell it on ebay or let a friend borrow. It sounds like a win for them to me.

      • Sean McCann

I agree, we didn’t ask for “sales” we asked for competitive pricing, like $49.99 on launch day, not $20 off 4 months after the games released

  • http://www.kevin-fell.co.uk/ Kevin Fell

…and MS wonder why we never saw their digital vision! There is a ‘magic’ price point at which point a digital purchase become viable, this is not it.

    • Nick Peck

Again, MS isn’t the one pricing the game here, Ubi is. Hopefully it’s just an error and will be fixed at some point (sooner would be nice). At least MS is the only company out announcing that they are working on lowering digital pricing, so that’s at least something.

      • http://www.kevin-fell.co.uk/ Kevin Fell

It doesn’t matter who’s setting the pricing. The digital vision is flawed if consumers are forced to purchase through a market place within which MS have no ounce of control over the price of content. It could destroy their consumer base and their product completely.

  • darkcharger

I buy all my games digitally but I am not going to pay $20 more for a game digitally. Prices should at least have parity. When they fix the price, I will buy this game again even though I already own it on 360.

  • Bennijin

Then why do they charge less on other platforms and have sales more often?

Conspiracy theories on a postcard to the usual address.

  • Danny Hogan

Complete rip off this game should at least be £15

  • Jeff Rubenstein

Thank you for pointing out, this is being looked at by the Store team.

    • donnyskillz

Thanks jeff I was just about to say ubisoft is looking at it to fix it

  • thebrit

Not sure why anyone would buy this off of the marketplace.
It’s only $39 at amazon with free shipping if you have prime – thats a huge $20 difference

    • donnyskillz

Ubisoft already said it was a mistake and they are fixing it…stop beating a dead horse

      • thebrit

Hardly considered beating a dead horse when this is the first time I had heard that there was a pricing error – Do not assume that just because you had heard that it was an error that EVERYONE else also knows it’s a pricing error.

    • evilfangs .

You have to pay for prime. Them A** holes at Amazon tried to charge me £50 for prime. You now have to spend £10+ to get free shipping.

      • thebrit

Yeah but I pay for prime for different reasons, I order a lot from amazon so it benefits me to get the 2 day free shipping and the added streaming of t.v / movies is a plus also.

  • Sean McCann

out on PS$ digitally for $40

    • Nick Peck

Out on XBL for $39.99 :p

  • Sean McCann

Price is fixed, now $39.99 in marketplace

    • darkcharger

They fixed it. Great. Just bought it.

  • http://www.majornelson.com Major Nelson

You should see the $39.99 price now (or will very soon!)

    • Javier Ramírez Rodríguez

It’s now ok in the mexican store. Thanks!

    • mcmax3000

Awesome. Thanks for the update Major. In Canada, that’s even cheaper than in stores, most of which are selling for $44.99.

    • Nick Peck

Great, thanks a lot Larry. Appreciate the time and help.

    • ElektroDragon

Good call guys. Less mistakes would be appreciated though. :)

    • BlinkFandango

Thanks to the teams behind getting this fixed, I had to pick this or Ryse and grabbed this since my wife will love it. Can’t wait for Garden Warfare next week.

  • scuderiarmani

This game should have been left exclusive on Wii U, it’s clearly not designed for other consoles, especially on 360 and PS3. Needs the touch screen IMHO.

    • mcmax3000

I played some of it on the 360, and it was fine with no touch screen. It’s clear in spots that it was designed with the touch screen in mind, but it’s still perfectly playable with a normal controller.

    • Chad_7Eleven

For me this is a perfect Vita game. Levels are short that they work great for quick pick up and play gaming. I know I may get blasted for bringing up the Vita on a MS page, just sharing my feelings guys – no hate please.

  • Din Taylor

At least its fixed, now do that with more new releases and I will consider going all digital.

  • Jeff Rubenstein

The price has been updated, thanks to all who pointed out the discrepancy.

    • Nick Peck

Not a problem, thanks for fixing it! Have a good one, back to Titanfall for me.

      • evilfangs .

Need to add more game modes or a different gun so we can “beta test” it lol.

        • Nick Peck

          Agreed :D
Man it’s so fun, I can’t wait for the full game. Did you guys see the article about the Titanfall Art Book? Shows art for creatures that we may interact with in the new levels… can’t wait!

          • Gazza!!!

Giant monsters vs giant robots. I have died and gone to heaven!!!

  • KingNothing6805

Thanks for getting this fixed Major and Ubi! I just bought my digital copy. Please keep the digital discounts coming. I will buy alot more games.

  • zakaweb

I’ve decided to go all digital this generation. Please keep pushing for equality in pricing and benefits, and hopefully lower prices at launch for digital.

    • Chad_7Eleven

If not lower prices, I would be all for a $5 or $10 store credit with digital purchases of new games. That an agenda you are willing to get behind?

  • DaeJim

Can Ireland join the Rayman party? I don’t see it in the Xbox One game store :(

    • Christian Armstrong

It’s out on Friday over here matey

      • Bennijin

There’s a thought, is there a reason digital versions of retail games can’t launch worldwide simultaneously?

  • That Guy

Or if you had simply added cross platform compatability or simply made it so that I could download an xbox360 game that is also on XBone to the One and play it with my 360 copy maybe I would be more obliged to care that Legends is being released on the XBone.

    • Bennijin

You mean like what you can do with some PS3 games on PS4?
I must admit it surprised me Microsoft didn’t follow that lead, although in this specific instance there’s no upgrade programme for Rayman Legends over there either.

  • Teaonmytash

Seems to be a big price difference in the uk. Every retailer is selling the game £25 new or £34 on the xbox one store is this a pricing error like on the American xbox store ???

  • RSix

39€ is not acceptable here, sorry.
