Dash Text: In a desperate world ravaged by seven Ice Lords and their Deadarmy, you are Vulcan, a mercenary possessed by a flame demon. In this RPG where all your choices lead to consequences, you will have to choose between unleashing the powers of the demon within, and rejecting the demonic influence that wants to claim your humanity. Freely develop your skills and combat style through three skill trees: swing the heavy weapons of the Fighter, wield the sneaky dual daggers of the Ranger, or use the devastating flame spells of the Pyromancer. Recruit companions who will live, love, hate and fight alongside you against the dreadful creatures of Vertiel, in spectacular and tactical real-time combat. The bigger the danger, the greater the temptation to draw on the demon’s power at the cost of your soul… which way will YOU choose?

Marketplace, Xbox 360 Games On Demand By Jeff Rubenstein

  • Some guy

Heard it’s from the same studio as Mars War logs, considering the gameplay was garbage, is this game any better?

  • IN_YO_FACE_86

I know it’s been ask before but will you guys ever add Mass Effect 2 and 3 to games on demand?

    • Justin Felder

Might have something to do with EA and games on multiple discs. Both of these are 2 discs as well as Battlefield 4, which isn’t on Demand either.

      • Senses Failed

It takes extra effort to break up the game in chunks so they can be released digitally on the 360, which is why rockstar is the only company to have multiple disc releases available on demand

    • Falycbe

Multiple discs and how big the games are have nothing to do with it in my opinion, hell it’s EA, I’ve been wanting dead space 2 and 3 off of the dashboard but the haven’t even added them, nor most of EA’s games; and didn’t it take like 3 or more years to add battlefield 3 to games on demand?

  • Mitchell Hall

uhh I totally wish this was coming to xbox one :/ I think I’m going to have to pick this up for my ps4 instead.

  • Beano

The PC version has a 42 on Metacritic. That is awesome. We should talk about this game all night. I’m going to buy it on every system possible.

  • usrev

general consensus is the game is decent, nothing amazing, not horrible. if you need something to play it might be worth picking up.

    • Some guy

Hard to say when reviews are filled with stuff that doesn’t mean anything.
they talk more about girls then they talks about the game.

      • usrev

A lot of people got this early on ps4 and none have said it was horrible or anything like most reviews are saying. plus the gamespot review was horrible, the first sentence is like “they never call you your name” (which happens in skyrim, fallout, and nearly every other rpg out there where you type in your own name)

I’l be picking it up tomorrow on ps4 if I get my bestbuy discount and will report back how it really is.

      • usrev

so I ended up getting it. I hardly played it though because warframe updated like 20 minutes after I got home with the game meaning I had to play that.

I played like 30 mins of bound by flame. it tries to be dragon age with fable/kingdoms of amalur style combat but you die fast sorta like dark souls. the story seems inspired by game of thrones too. characters curse a lot which makes sense. the combat is kinda annoying but I am getting used to it. you HAVE to block or you will be destroyed.

the voice acting is just ok. the story so far is just ok. and the combat is just ok. graphics look mediocre at best. I honestly think 360 games could look as good as this ( I have the ps4 version).

the harsh reviews aren’t deserved from what I have played so far, but it definitely doesn’t deserve great praise. the game is just average. if you love rpgs try it out. you could do worse. but there are many other rpgs i’d put over this game on 360. though on ps4 this is the only real option so far.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

first review i have read. actually sums it up pretty well.

  • Does Not Equal

At least it didn’t come out at $60, considering it’s a new IP from a small studio. Shame there’s a PS4 version, but not an Xbox One version.

    • usrev

I recall reading they couldn’t get ahold of an xbone dev kit in time to make it.

    • Shakeslikecrazy

It’s coming later apparently. They had no Xbox One development device prior to release.

      • Mitchell Hall

I highly doubt they’re going to bother porting it to the xbox one now. especially since it got such bad reviews. it sucks because I really wanted to get it for xbox one regardless I’m starved for a new rpg. I’m picking it up on my ps4 after work.

        • WARLORD

It really ant that bad of a game. It was released early on PSN so had it since Tuesday and I’m really enjoying it . . All the bad reviews I’m seeing on Metacritic are from no name reviewers, but major companies like gameinformer are giving it an 8 out 10 so far.

          • Mitchell Hall

I thought game informer gave it a 4? I know gsmespot gave it a 4. I read that review, it wasn’t very flattering to say the least.. lol. but that being said, it’s been on my radar for quite a while and I love the action rpg genre so I am definitely going to pick it up on the ps4 and check it out.

          • WARLORD

Nope thy gave it an 8.

          • WARLORD

            Gameinformer 8.0

“Concept:Embrace or defy the demon within as you weave through a traditional fantasy RPG world

Graphics:Looks great, though some weird quirks (like the running animation) are off-putting

Sound: Dialogue is fully-voiced and the soundtrack is powerful, especially during boss fights

            Playability:The controls can be
challenging at first, but I got comfortable after an hour or two.
Difficulty can be changed as you play, but I recommend the easiest
            difficulty setting for beginners

Entertainment:Fun combat, customization, and decision making overpower the cliché plot and monotonous enemy lineup

          • Brian Eyekon Koehler

Gameinformer is owned by Gamestop they make the reviews better then what they should actually be so consumers buy the game from them.

          • WARLORD

GameInformer Is a reputable gaming magazine. I have seen them give plenty of bad scores to Cr@p games…

          • Brian Eyekon Koehler

But they are still owned by Gamestop they give scores to games who dont deserve really bad scores sometimes 2.

          • WARLORD

So I guess IGN is in gamestops pocket to. They gave it a 7.0…

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

i know it’s crazy. the whole x1 deal is just lame right now. in time hopefully it will be fixed.

    • Jared

      Next Gen is ps4 lol.

    • Jan Václavík

If the reviews are anything to go by, XBO users are not missing out. Too bad for the developers, though – games like this can be successful early in console life, because of the limited library – I imagine the PS4 version is going to sell well, if only because there is pretty much nothing else to play on the platform.

  • deadbox102

    • Costas

It got a 4.0 on Gamespot

      • Death Dealer

Indeed, a 52 on Metacritic thus far. Ouch.

        • jtsuth

8 on Gameinformer. I am enjoying the game.

  • itsjustme

    Give me a demo, please.

  • Gazza!!!

Sounds like a lite version of Dark Souls. Luckily I only just got number 2 the other day so I can wait to see if this is any good before picking it up.

  • Mr&Mrs Ninja

What would any of you guys rate? I’m considering just waiting because I like 10 games recently and haven’t really dived into them. If the game’s like 8 or above i’ll get it now.

    • roozbeh, again

I’d give it a 6. Good game if you have nothing else to play.

    • Mr&Mrs Ninja

Thanx everybody! I’ll rent from gamefly before I buy it since there are no demos.

  • Liquidfx Xboxdude

i have this game rented on the way and i am betting on the worst but that is why gamefly is so awesome. maybe some easy achievements or trophies.

  • evilfangs .

That Super time force indie game on X1 looks good, is that 14/5/14 release date for UK too? ( saw the game on xbox one marketplace but say’s unavailable )

    • Senses Failed

It’s a good question, as someone in the uk do i now look at most indie games and expect them to be US release only?

    • Gazza!!!

Its coming to the UK. I tweeted Capy Games earlier to make sure there was no licensing issues.

  • ElektroDragon

It’s a small studio with 1/50th the budget and personnel of the big devs and publishers. Cut them some slack.

    • Professor Oak

So, just got a new 320 GB HDD, and it came with a digital code for Ms Splosion Man, only problem is I already have it. If you have a steam and an extra copy of a game or a extra xbox game code I would gladly trade if you still wanted Ms Splosion Man.

      • ElektroDragon

Yes, I do have some keys for free Steam games that should still work, more than happy to trade. What’s your gamertag so I can send you a private Xbox message?

        • Professor Oak

Shenron795. .. it is the same on steam as well

  • evilfangs .

Still no word on when we are getting sky player or the iplayer on Xbox one, it’s quite annoying now. Stupid thing is I can’t use my 360 for sky player because the wireless adapter is so horrible that it lags and buffers the video. ( go figure, 75mbps download speed and I still get buffering )

    • beardyman3218

I would also like to know, sky have announced sky go is coming to ps4 this summer yet no mention of xbox one, come one xbox what happened to the xbox one being the all in one device? It seems like xbox are not even bothered about providing new apps because theres a hdmi in port which isnt right start making deals and soon because there is such a HUGE lack of content at the moment with no excuse, the console has been out long enough for these apps to still be missing.

      • Peter

When it comes to the apps its more like a we will release it when its ready with a vague release date ie: late 2014 . I wouldn’t lug app releases into the category of game release dates as these are obviously not held to schedule as strictly as games. They take their time getting them out. Also considering these apps are free there’s no rush to get them out the door. Would love for the twc app and hbogo apps to make it but i know they aren’t going to release them faster even if complained about.

While these are good to have I’m still more anxious on the external hd support that MS is dragging their feet getting out. Hoping it won’t be gimped like the 360 external support. Space is filling up fast and no i don’t wanna play the whole delete/re-download from queue schtick as last gen to juggle space.

        • beardyman3218

From what I understand the HDD support is available for any size of hard drive above 80gb, seems ro be the general rumour anyway hence the USB 3.0 port on the left hand side of the console to support faster speeds whent transferring large files. This update will take time but what I find in excusable about the lack of apps is that apparently the reason sky go is coming to ps4 so quickly is because they are getting help from Sony to developed the app, so why is it that Microsoft are not doing the same as this is the most used entertainment app in the UK apart from Netflix and this the all in one ENTERTAINMENT console.

          • Peter

As you know by now ms flip flops like a fish in and out of water when it comes to what they wanna be perceived as. First it was that x1 is supposed to be a AIO media center then they backtracked and emphasized its still a gaming machine but yeah regardless it does suck.

Still can’t really blame ms on that one. The apps are made independently of ms if not mistaken. Being that they are free and not really held to schedule. It’s a new console and will take time for those companies to release their x1 app. So i expect a slow gradual trickle. Also your implying ms is responsible for that. It’s the companies choice if they wanna have a x1 version and when it comes out. You knew coming in that it would take the one time to catch up to the state of the 360, in comparison to ps4? there are times when they have apps that the xbox doesn’t and vice versa

  • beardyman3218

Any news on the next system update?

    • evilfangs .

Which one? I’ve had like 5 different updates since Larry posted that May 2nd post on the blog.

      • beardyman3218

I got those updates, they seemed to be updates to the current update. Can we have an “update” on the next…. Update.

  • RSix

    EU Release too?

  • John Smith

Looked for it – but no demo. I don’t buy games i don’t try first.

  • Mitchell Hall

I have no idea why this game has gotten such bad reviews. I really don’t. I’ve put about 4 hours in so far and I must say I am really enjoying it. The combat is difficult and very rewarding.. The leveling and skill trees are awesome so is all the customization and crafting. so far I think this game is great, obviously there’s still a lot I haven’t seen yet but so far very good.
