Enter the squirrel! Defy the kitsune samurai who stole your clan’s sacred acorns. Sneak through beautifully hand-painted landscapes, avoid capture by the guards, and snatch victory (and acorns) from your enemies. The vigilant foxes track your silent steps by scent. Keep ahead of them or use your ninja arsenal to escape. Use smoke bombs, ninja speed, shadow clones, freeze bombs, and flame cloaks to defeat your enemies. Hone your skills with Ninja Missions or train for endurance in Survival mode. Baffle your foes across 15 maps, attain 25 ranks, and conquer 5 difficulty levels. Master the way of Nutjitsu!

We asked developer Ninjabee to tell us a bit more about Nutjitsu, including the fact that you can play it while, for instance, you’re waiting for a multiplayer game to place you in a match. From Producer Ben Bascom:

The early days of a console are always exciting. We are thrilled to be an early participant in Xbox One history. Thanks to the ID@Xbox team for helping to get Nutjitsu out there! Nutjitsu is undoubtedly a throwback to addictive, retro game designs updated with great new art and an awesome theme.

In terms of production, it proves that a great game can be developed on Xbox One in a short time frame. Technologically, we are the first to release an Xbox One game that can run like an app. This means you can watch a movie or play another game, then switch over to Nutjitsu for a few minutes without closing your other activity. On top of all that, a ninja squirrel stealing nuts is awesomeness that can’t be denied!

  • Shakeslikecrazy

    Demo?

    • ElektroDragon

This ain’t the 360. And not in good ways.

    • Death Dealer

No demo. But at $6.49 it’s a steal IMO.

  • http://www.martinspierings.nl Martin Spierings

Never heard of this (and i’m pretty up2date). So this can only mean one thing: its gonna blow

    • Does Not Equal

Because if YOU haven’t heard of it, it must not be important.

      • digitallife

Dude do you do anything but bash people for their comments? I’m really wondering. I don’t seem to ever see an original post from you voicing your own opinion but I always see you bashing other people’s. Ease up bro.

          So Damn true !

      • BigBernard

        That’s lovely.

    • http://summified.com/ Ry L

Saw it at my local Comic Con last year. Looked pretty fun.

  • Mr XBob

Where have you guys been? This was announced months ago. It’s a port of a Windows 8 game from a while back.

  • mcmax3000

I did a quick Google search to find out more about this, and apparently it’s US only at the moment. They’re waiting on getting a PEGI rating for the UK, and French localization for a Canadian release according to the article I found.

    • beardyman3218

What’s taking PEGI so long she needs to hurry up, its a game with ninjas and nuts lol, put a 7 rating on the cover and get this game out there.

  • evilfangs .

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

it’s your name. it is freakin awesome.

  • John Smith

Excellent, can’t wait to try out the demo.

    • Catalyst

Play it on Windows 8.1 for free if you can, then buy it on Xone for the achievements if you like it.

  • cactushead

It’s also available for Windows 8.1 for Free at the moment

    • Death Dealer

Yes, but no achievements on that version.

  • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

Never heard of this one. pretty cool that it’s made like an app though so u can switch between it… on another note I just recently started playing this month’s free game with gold.. dust: an Elysian tale… and I’m so beyond pleased it’s crazy. This game was not on my radar at all and I just picked it up because it was free as I do with mostly all gsmes with gold.. and started to play it and I can’t believe how good it is! I love the art style, the rpg elements, the combat, all of it. not to mention the humor is amazing. I’ve laughed out loud so many times playing this game. fidget is awesome lol. Anyway I recommend anyone who hasn’t played it to definitely go check it out !

  • digitallife

Well it’s $6.49 so even if you don’t enjoy it’s not a bad investment. Beats the heck of games like this being $19.99

  • http://summified.com/ Ry L

I bet this is a GWG candidate, whenever that comes to X1

  • Xenokai

Just read one of majors tweet about this and it says…. “Note: You can play it while you play something else” what does this mean exactly? does it mean it can keep running like a app? If so doesnt that mean it uses the Windows side of the x1 OS? and not the dedicated game os?

    • Jon Taylor

Yeah, this had me confused too…does it run on the 5 meg or so the Xbox One seems to have left as it painfully struggles to switch between other tasks?

      • Some guy

It’s a simple 2D game from what I see, seems possible.

    • xPutNameHerex

Considering it’s a port (or at least, conceived from) the same game from the developers in the Windows 8 store, it’s not inconceivable they just used the Windows partition of the Xbox One.

  • Jon Taylor

    Is there a demo?

  • ElektroDragon

Nice, $6.50 from a great developer and 1000 GS? I’ll bite. Who needs a demo with those stats?

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

totally agree. nothing to lose with a $6 game. i usually have that in my account from the rewards program.

  • Parasurama Griffiths

Sad to see us poor old New Zealanders cant have it… yet.

    • Death Dealer

It’s US only for now. The developers need more time for the localization.

      • Guest

Right, because nobody speaks English in New Zealand. Only US do.

        • Death Dealer

I don’t make the rules. Other English speaking countries don’t have this game either.

    • William Montgomery

Take solace in the fact that you get nearly all of the big iOS games before the US.

  • Carnage Rules

$6.49??? is this the Xbox One version of Arcade??

  • Tevin Bell

Love It Easy Achievements Can’t Beat It

  • beardyman3218

While the price point is great unlike other indie titles, Xbox really need to bring back game trials, almost every xbox360 arcade and indie title had a demo, its not hard to do so please bring it back, buying indie and arcade titles x1 is like gambling now you never know what your gonna get because the games don’t have the same level of exposure as triple a titles. Also they need to be labeled under their own marketplace as arcade or indie titles. We are seeing a large increase in these types of games and once the x1 library gets bigger its gonna be a nightmare to navigate the marketplace.

    • Catalyst

The problem with putting them under an “indie” section would be a similar issue as with the Indie Game Store with Xbox 360. Tons of games that no one cares about because they are not in the main store. Granted achievements might entice some people, but moving them out of the spotlight into their own category might diminish interest and therefore sales. A better option would be to tag games with categories and then be able to filter by indie, action, demo, xbox live arcade, etc, which allows these games to coincide with larger titles, while being searchable and easier to manage. Also, I hear demos are coming, but it’s also the devs who have to put forth the effort to make them. Lego games are the only ones doing so right now, and making bank. Finally, expecting Indie games to have the same exposure as high quality titles is never going to happen. The big games can afford more commercials even outside of Xbox Live, and while well-reviewed games like Child of Light will get the attention they deserve, not all games will have similar exposure. Steam even struggles to make sure games are known, mostly by putting them on sale. Microsoft is still relatively new to the indie market, and I’m sure the Xbox Marketplace, particularly on the One will see dramatic changes in the next year. Just look at how far the UI on the 360 has come.

    • KingJam3s916

Exactly! Since I played my X1 on day one, I been saying they should have a a separate game category for each type like how they have xbox 360 games organized. Like:
      Games on Demand
      Arcade
      Add Ons
      Indie Titles
      Demos – Free Game Trials

Currently The Xbox One has Games on Demand, Add ons and Game Demos. But for me Personally,They especialy need more demos! They only have 5 so far. And there’s only 2 Title sellers in there, which is Dead Rising 3 & FIFA 14. If they gave us more Demos for our Xbox Ones, But they do have Killer Instinct as a Free to Play. But with only one character is unlocked for a week than switches in Rotation to different Fighter Unlocked. And last weeks fighter becomes locked again. They at least unlock 2 Fighters at one time each week. Instead of just 1. Because by the time I learn that fighters Combos, signature Move, and Shadow Combos and how to link them together with automatics and another signature and finish with shadow. Than the week is over and fighter is Locked again. But if they would have released demos for at least for some of those arcade games, then I would have definitely bought some of those! Let’s just hope they do! :)

  • Liquidfx Xboxdude

price is in check. i will pick this up just to support that much.

  • Peter

played the windows version if i recall its so-so not something i’d grab up. Recall it felt like a very simplistic pacman game. At 7 bucks with tax it still seems a bit high though

  • ElektroDragon

It looks and plays like a tablet game, because that’s what it is. Would have preferred some upgrade for Xbox One. But I’ll take the 1000GS for $6 and reasonably fun gameplay.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

yeah this game has some REALLY easy achievements but that is all it has going for it. it is hard to play with both the joystick and d-pad for me.

  • KingJam3s916

So This game is about Nuts and Ninjas. Or Ninjas and thier Nuts?

  • dark freedom

Only on EEUU ? Boh! racism.

  • Jean Pierre

Not in Canada cause of French? lol only one province speaks french and they also speak english , thats so so stupid

    • GmailIsDown

you have to be politically correct or people will complain and cause bad publicity.

  • That Guy

Did anyone buy this? Is it worth it?

    • Shakeslikecrazy

      Yes.

    • Elias

      No
The only good thing about that game is that you get realy easy 1000GS

      • Carnage Rules

It is NOT an easy 1000g

        • Liquidfx Xboxdude

maybe not as easy as burning earth but they don’t take more that about 2 hours to get for most.

        • Elias

You only need to Reach Rank 25. You can die as often as you want. I didn’t say its fast Gamescore but its easy. You could play it with one hand while…

  • Lucky13X

Actually, what sold this for me, even before the price and app-like function was NINJA BEE. They have to fail me on Xbox 360, so I doubt they would suck on Xbox One.

  • James Jiao

Doesn’t seem to be available for New Zealand.

  • Carnage Rules

The game is only 6.49 and I still feel like I got ripped off

  • Lucky13X

Last night, discovered the App function is a GREAT selling point. Finally, Forza 5 and Ryse’s loading screens are bearable.

  • Álvaro Ortiz Porras

Not appear available in Spain :(

    • Shakeslikecrazy

US only (for a little while).
