Arcade, Deal, Game Add-on, Marketplace, Xbox 360, Xbox 360 Games On Demand, Xbox Games Store, Xbox One By Jeff Rubenstein

  • Mike Glynn

Wow, this is what ive been waiting for all morning…….fail

  • Liquidfx Xboxdude

    ew……

  • Nick King

I got Fifa 14 free with my Day One Edition Xbox One, thanks but no thanks. I was going to buy the digital version of Wolfenstein today as well, it said login to see your price….. £54.99. It’s £39.99 for the disc version.

    • Ed Harrison

Not this again! Same happened with Titanfall – the digital copy was £54.99 whereas retail vendors were selling it for not much over £30 if I recall correctly. Publishers have got to stop actively punishing those of us who want to “go digital”…

      • evilfangs .

I think it’s due to Sony and Microsoft taking a cut of the game when sold on digital. Digital games on steam never seem to be stupid prices like we see on consoles and the publishers can set prices for both steam and console versions.

        • A. J.

Retailers take a cut as well, in addition to manufacturing, warehousing, and shipping costs. Over all digital should be cheaper. And on top of that, it typically eliminates used game sales.

I think the bigger issue is that Microsoft doesn’t want to anger Walmart, Bestbuy, Amazon, etc. Retail stores are where most games are purchased, and Microsoft wants to have their games proudly displayed. If they undercut the prices of retail stores, then those stores may no longer advertise the games and may stop carrying them all together.

P.S. Steam and other online retailers do often have insanely low prices. New AAA console games rarely go below $10, while if you wait a year or two, they often go on sale for $5 on PC.

          • mauszx

Publisher don’t want to cut prices because retail pressure.

        • usrev

they take a cut on retail too, everything sold on consoles = money for the console owner. roughly $35 of the games price goes to the publisher, roughly $5-$7 goes to MS or sony. the rest is eaten up by manufacturing, retail cuts, etc. so games should cost about $40 digitally.

          • mauszx

Sony and MS get a bigger cut for the digital games.

      • Pete

Yup, annoying as hell. They really need to sort out digital pricing, however there is another way!

Keep an eye on SimplyCDKeys and CDKeys (.com’s) for cheap vouchers. SimplyCDKeys has a £50 instant code for £40 which will knock a tenner off any digital game.

Titanfall annoyed me, I had to give in to the disc to start with but later managed to pick up a digital copy from CDKeys for £23 … Amazon gave me £22 back for the disc :-)

£40 is my limit for a game, £55 takes the P. What’s really annoying is that as far as I can tell most games are $60 in the US, disc or digital. That’s roughly £40… oh, wait, hang on … :-(

        • Pete

Unfortunately I’m actually not that keen on the voucher approach either.

While it may bring a £55 digital game down to £45 for us Microsoft probably just chalk is up as “We sold another one of them expensive ones, people must LOVE the price!”

As such I’ve actually just bought significantly less since the new consoles came out and none at the new stupid prices… same applies to all my mates too.

        • Rupert Oldcorn

Shh, don’t tell people about SimplyCDKeys, they keep getting sold out on gift cards I want less people to be aware not more ;)

That plus xbox rewards and XBox One sales are how I’m remaining digitial only.

Bought BF4, ACIV and Titanfall at full price. Thief, TR and Ryse all discounted.

  • rhooper

    12%?
Can we consider this a discount?

  • Some guy

The only new deal here is Enslaved.
Tales of Vesperia, Saban’s Power Rangers Super Samurai, Eternal Sonata and SOULCALIBUR II were already on sale for cheaper.
Well, at least it’s not COD Ghost I guess.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

Nick Saban’s Power Rangers. Roll Tide.

  • Shiftymorgan

Had a look in th uk store and these havent changed yet? its a bit weird its this late

  • Dalibor Kollár

looking forward to some 50% discounts on Forza5 add-ons

    • mcmax3000

I’d probably jump on that. I’ve gone back, and forth on getting the Forza 5 DLC, and haven’t pulled the trigger, but with that kind of discount, I would.

      • http://www.pathofdestruction.us/forums Xtowers

I’m the same. If I could get a discount on the car pass I’d be all over it. As it is, though, I can’t fork up $50.

  • Some guy

    Beautiful Katamari (2007): 24,99 $
    Armored Core – Verdict Day (2013): 19,99 $

Someone explain me how MS decide price for those games and then go to MS to explain them how stupid it is.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

a lot of us have been doing that for years. they don’t listen until they absolutely have to like with the kinect less x1 situation though they make it seem as Phil Spencer is the savior. it was a loss of money i am betting.

      • beardyman3218

How exactly are they losing money? Xbox ones were not sold at a loss and there selling really well, just because ps4 is selling more doesnt mean Xbox isn’t selling well. Back on topic anyway, the pricing of digital games is determined by publishers and they usually go with rrp its console wide. But someone I don’t know who but someone needs too look into how and why publishers are selling digital games which are cheaper to distribute are so highly priced.

    • Michael Burden

Cheapest new listing for Beautiful Katamari on Amazon is $17.93 plus $5.95 shipping, so they are in the ball park on that one (used price at Gamestop is still $19.99). Plan on getting this as that is the cheapest I have seen it available outside of used prices, and most places the used price is still higher than this sale price or it is in poor shape.

It’s not so much Microsoft setting that price but rather them (or more realistically Namco) reacting to the free market price. Age of a game is not always the determining factor in price and all games are not equal. AC:VD was a HORRIBLE game that sold badly whereas Beautiful Katamari was not and has a good following in its niche.

    • beardyman3218

Katamari is extremely hard to buy in the UK (disc version) I did see a copy of it in retail for £23. Ms don’t decide the price publishers do but ms has said they are trying to reduce the cost of digital games. They need to at least price match retail, if they undercut retail there will be a lot of stores closing.

  • Deante Morgan

Inb4 someone complains that “everyone is complaining and being ungrateful, we don’t have to get deals guys”. I’d rather have no deals than crappy deals, now as for this week…it’s meh. If you like Namco fighters and random jrpgs then sure this may interest you, but this is far from the Microsoft Studios sale and the sale the week after that…those were great

    • usrev

the tales series is hardly a random jrpg, it’s probably the biggest one next to pokemon and final fantasy.

eternal sonata was pretty decent as well and both iirc are xbox exclusives (unless you speak japanese)

but. yea most these sales are bad.

  • Shakeslikecrazy

Good list but ugh, the European version of Tales of Vesperia is not discounted. Really wanted that game.
    Enslaved will be mine also.

  • JackPackage

Terrible deals and a poor selection of games.

Eternal Sonata & Tales of Vesperia are still £11.99 and £19.99 respectively, in the UK. That isn’t a DEAL at all.

Why are you seemingly not concerned with generating money? I don’t understand. Can somebody please educated me as to why there are so many dead games on demand, that will not sell at their current price and why their owners are so reticent to actually generate revenue by reducing them to a reasonable discount? I seriously do not understand, is it some sort of tax loophole type deal, whereby they can save more money by making less money? I am absolutely stumped here.

There are thousands of old/average and forgotten games on demand that will never sell at their current price. Why aren’t companies willing to discount these games to the £3.74/$4.99 price point and sell potentially thousands of copies, at no cost to themselves?

I genuinely don’t understand. What is the purpose of Gold subscriptions any more? Online gaming is dead now, Netflix no longer requires a Gold sub and these deals are just awful, every week.

    • Some guy

“Our most loyal members get the best rewards of all, like up to 3% back on purchases in Xbox stores.”
We also get a nice number next to our GT name.
But yea, the only reason I used to have gold was for the deals, got many great games that way but now there’s no reason as publisher sales are better and don’t require to be gold.

      • m1nh0ca

I used to be Gold for 5 years. Since December I am not and, guess what?
        I really don’t miss it…

        • Bush

almost 8 years myself. only renewed it for Netflix which i wont have to do next month. after the paywall update i dont think il be gold until Halo5 hits and only if it is good at that.

          • xbox1rules23

            you’re dumb

          • Bush

why? i play multiplayer on the computer and use the 360 as a media device. other than Netflix gold has no value for me.

          • mauszx

maybe because you can use netflix on every other device, ps3, bluray, smarttv, roko and all those things.

          • Bush

            which i have a 360 for….

          • mauszx

I get that, but what people are saying is that you don’t need that reason to have the Gold, since you can use netflix in any other device without paying 60 extra dollars a year.

          • Professor Oak

Netflix is on PC……… so…. gold it worthless to you?

          • Bush

and the xbox is my media device… PC for gaming at its station. xbox is under the tv for media. and yes other than Netflix gold is worthless.

maybe if they pushed some good first party games the last few years instead of Kinectware it might have some value.

          • m1nh0ca

            Ok. Justify.

          • Bush

hey i can afford it. of course i can appreciate online greatness that is why i play on the ps4 and pc. xbox is for media since its all about CoD the last few years with nothing worth playing online. i bet what you wrote won’t get past the mod either.

        • mauszx

No arrow in the knee joke?

          • m1nh0ca

            I had to resist… ;-)

    • xbox1rules23

online gaming is NOT dead. also these deals are amazing. costs so little for us in the US. $5

    • mauszx

Most of the time, sales are a way to make games to start selling again, microsoft talks with the companies and the companies agree to a price, after that you have your Deal of the week.

  • Marcus Roof

Enslaved at $5 is fair deal on a decent title…

    • Beano

Or, you could buy the physical copy for $5 or so, and save yourself some way-more valuable HD space??!?

      • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

And have it laser scratch or wear and tear over time? No thanks , man.

    • Sigognac

Enslaved is indeed a quality action and adventure game, colorful and well achieved. One of the best in its genre.
This said, effectively, the disc edition can be found for less than 10 $ new some times, making it a great value too.

  • Beluvius

12 % discount? Are you serious?. This is an insult to us customers. Sometimes I have the feeling you think your customers are stupid and can be fooled that easily.

  • Jorge Garza

All I ask Microsoft is to not give us Lococycle as GWG program in July. Please give us something better! Hell I prefer Just Dance 2014 than Lococycle, at least my girlfriend would enjoy it!

Who am I kidding? We all know they will give us Lococycle in July…

    • Slam_Shot_Sam

I’d choose Lococycle over Just Dance.

Lococycle would be good for me actually, as it’s one of just a few XBO games I don’t already own.

      • Gabriel House

Well, you technically still won’t own it if it comes to GWG.

      • ungeheier

Youre one of the lucky people. Lococycle is trash.

        • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

Its not going to be a kinect game , I assure it. That would be like giving us a vision cam game. lol

    • mauszx

Don’t you worry little friend, in July you would get Fighter Within, the best experience on Kinect 2, maybe on august you will have lococycle and then Ryse, the greatest trilogy there can ever be.

  • ƦeνoƖυtioɳ(=´ω`=)

may have to get soul calibur 2 :D

    • Brian Eyekon Koehler

Yea I have it its really fun but im pretty sure online is dead on it already.

      • Professor Oak

It’s all about the single player and local vs mode anyway

  • Cagateybaila

Again and again and again and again the same sales over and over.

Metro 2033 would be a great sale. As well as Deadly Premonition, LA Noire, and other games people would buy at a 40-50% discount. Now we won’t buy these nor the others.

    • Michael Burden

Just because you bought them before or have no interest doesn’t mean others aren’t interested in these games. For me, this is the cheapest I’ve seen Beautiful Katamari (disc version included – Not used prices as that is not a valid/fair comparison) and plan on getting that at least.

Also ironic you complain about these being repeat sales, then go on to request games that also have been on sale before. I know Metro 2033 has been on sale recently (as I bought it then) and am pretty sure both the others have seen sales as well.

      • Cagateybaila

        Recently when?

Not in the last 6 months or so. These others had been out in the last month or two.

        • Michael Burden

Only 2 games on that list have been on sale recently which was just over 2 months ago (Eternal Sonata & Soul Calibur V). Soul Calibur II HD and Ridge Racer Unbounded were on sale way back in February during the Ultimate Game Sale. Tales of Vesparia was back in mid-January. I can’t recall when or if I’ve ever seen Beautiful Katamari on sale. I know for a fact the Power Rangers game has never seen a sale on Live (for what it is worth). The rest either have not seen a sale or was much further back (and probably not discounted as much).

When I got Metro 2033, it was just over a year ago but I am sure that have had it on sale once more since then. But I never said recently, I just pointed out they had been on sale when you were complaining about repeated sales. But none of them were actually on sale “in the last month or two”.

        • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

Katamari was around $3.0something last year. Metro 2033 , dlc was on sale , got the ranger pack and 100%’d that was In november of 2012 LOL so I have not seen it on sale recently. But why should it be? Metro Last Light is out so you probably wont ever see 2033 on sale again.

        • AaronionRings

Yes in the last 6 months or so, I’ve seen it on sale at least a couple of times. I know for definite that it was in the countdown to 2014 sale.

  • Rick

    ARMORED CORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Prinnies

I don’t know why people are complaining about only getting 12% discount — there doesn’t have to be a discount in the first place.

    • Cagateybaila

Digital copies should be less expensive than the disc ones.

      • mcmax3000

Yeah, that disc version of Killer Instinct is so much cheaper…

        • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

Yeah , so you can break it , and get a new one. As long as you dont get banned , theres no way to lose a digital copy, so IMO I can see why it would cost a lot more.

          • trilogy10100 .

If digital were cheaper then would not need to go to the store and then shops would close down and then more unemployment.

          • Professor Oak

            No, wow

          • mcmax3000

My post was sarcasm. There is no disc version of Killer Instinct.

    • vai_levar_no_cu

there also doesnt have to be a sale

    • Ryan Davis

Yes there does. It’s part of our Gold subscription.

  • Yards

People need to stop blaming Microsoft and Sony for digital prices. They don’t set them for the games they do not publish themselves. The publishers of those games do. Add on to that the insane pressure the retailers place on them. It’s not a good idea to annoy the retailers that push hardware for Microsoft, so for the foreseeable time, the best we can hope for is price parity and better sales. Cheaper games is not likely to happen any time soon, unfortunately.

  • Slam_Shot_Sam

Still pretty bad. With the recent changes to GOLD and GWG coming to XBO I assumed these sales would see some sort of improvement too.

    • xbox1rules23

      these are great sales. idiot

      • Some guy

If you think 12% is great that’s just your opinion man and I totally respect that.
I don’t respect you for insulting freely though.

      • vai_levar_no_cu

        no, moron

      • usrev

these says are pretty bad. also way to make 6 guest accounts to upvote yourself.

the only thing notable for sales is tales of vesperia because even used retail it’s like $40.

        • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

I love how 2 guests upvoted you , too.

      • drakejr

The KI deal is not great. I already have the combo breaker edition. If I upgrade to ultra I pay another 20 bucks (so 40 total). A total stranger to the game can pick up ultra on sale for 35 total. While the effort is appreciated, that is not a great deal.

        • shafnitz

When I got home from work, I fired up my X1 to get in on the upgrade “deal”. I assumed that the upgrade would have a normal price of $20 or so, and that this deal was going to be 50% off that. When I saw that the special pricing is $20, I thought maybe I was missing something. So I came here and saw your comment and realized I’m not crazy.

Assuming someone bought the Combo Breaker pack at the regular price of $20, this “deal” means they can upgrade to the Ultra for another $20, which totals the regular price of the Ultra edition. So I guess we’re supposed to be grateful that we aren’t paying $60 total for something that normally costs $40? Why are they even saying this is a deal? There should have always been an option to upgrade to Ultra $20.

  • Gazza!!!

If like me and you got KI free just before the X1 launched its a good deal but for everyone else its cack. Don’t forget GwG and the new sales initiative starting in June tho, could be the last we see of these sort of deals.

  • Derek

Ridge Racer Unbounded is still listed at $29.99 and Soul Calibur V is still listed at $14.99 for the .ca region…come on Microsoft. Unbounded was priced wrong the last time it was on sale and not fixed. Fix it this time?

    • Some guy

Fix it? Maybe tomorow as they fixed just cause 2 and quantum from last sale later.
Maybe they’ll just remove it and pretend it never happened.
I don’t understand how they keep making these mistakes though.

    • ryder4life22187

Last time Unbounded was on sale it was fixed as I picked it up when it was like 5 bucks.

    • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

It’s still $20 and says its 75% off. lol was it $100 on release or something?

  • Mr&Mrs Ninja

Does anyone on this post know whether or not we will be getting shadow jago soon? I see they added his stage but not him.

    • mauszx

isn’t shadow jago part of the season 2?

      • Mr&Mrs Ninja

Mr Ninja: nope if you go on ebay he’s available but you’ll have to buy a day 1 12month xbox live card to get it. Or you could buy him as a code only but he’s just to expensive for dlc.

  • mauszx

I always hope that this is going to be the day that I get a discount on every dlc of ME3, always dissapointed.

    • fallouthirteen

To be fair, they’ve already done sales on each piece of ME3 DLC.

      • mauszx

Oh no yeah, I have those, the only DLC that I don’t have is the Omega DLC I think, which is the only one that hasn’t been on sale.

        • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

Dude, they did one in december i think.

          • mauszx

It was only the Citadel DLC, I remember and before that they did Leviatian or something like that, but I’m pretty sure they haven’t done the Omega dlc, which is very expensive.

  • Ryan Davis

YES!! I’ve been waiting for Power Rangers to go on sale! $25 for a game with a 20 on Metacritic is a little steep, but $12.49 is just right!

  • cubs223425

    Ugh…Microsoft has the WORST sales.

    • Some guy

Microsoft manage to have both the worst and the best sales.
But they have way more bad sales then good ones.

    • AaronionRings

Eh, Garden Warfare was a pretty good deal last week.

      • cubs223425

        $10 off a 6-month-old game? Nah.

        • ImTheMetalLord

Garden Warfare was released Jan. 25, 2014 and since that sale was last week we are talking it as 5 months and 1 week since the release. Get your facts straight. Great Game great sale. I paid full price and am happy about it.

  • Brian Eyekon Koehler

Soul Calibur 5 was just on sale I got it for like 3 bucks and it was worth every penny.

  • fallouthirteen

Yeah, I mean this sale should be the regular price for people who want to upgrade to the Ultra edition from the Combo Breaker one. I was one of the people who got Combo Breaker free though so I might just use this sale.

  • http://youtube.com/oxdestroxo DGYT

RIDGE RACER IS 75% AND STILL $20??!! Lol that cant be right. Its a very mediocre 2 year old racer. Might buy Katamari , dont know why you must do these $5.09 sales , do really whats the point? I know they percentage it , but do you REALLY want that 9 cents?

    • Some guy

It was a bug and it’s fixed now.
It’s 30$ in canada though so won’t buy.

      • Stephen Nowak

it’s now $5.00. I’m sure I saw it listed as $20.00 this morning in Canada.

        • Some guy

          Gold Exclusive Price
          $7.49
          $29.99
          Nope, forever overpriced.

          • Stephen Nowak

I don’t like to argue, but I just checked the sale and it’s still $4.99 in Canada

  • Jim Charette

Both Ace Combat and Armored Core was on sale 2-3 weeks ago and also wasn’t Fifa just on sale as well?

    • Michael Burden

No they weren’t – the add-ons for one of the games were but the games themselves were not.

  • Stephen Nowak

Beautiful Katamari is worth $8.00. Last year, I bought a used copy for $20.00 and thought it was worth $20.00.

What fighting game on sale is recommend that has; a online community, and execution moves aren’t too hard to pull off?

    • mauszx

Mortal Kombat is really easy to get into, hard to master, don’t know about the online.

      • Professor Oak

        “On sale”

        • mauszx

Sorry Mr. Oak I missed that, since I didn’t notice there were a lot of fighting games on sale, I thought he was talking about fighting games in general.

          • Professor Oak

Thats Prof. Oak! Kids these days, don’t know their pokemon Professors

          • Stephen Nowak

lol, it was a riddle. I meant the sale but I was open to other fighting games too. I prefer 2d fighters. I may get MK but I’m upset with myself for not getting it while it was something like $2.00 last year.

          • Professor Oak

While it is 3D, it is still fun and worth a pick up.

    • Professor Oak

I recommend Soul Calibur 2 HD

  • Carnage Rules

I’m confused, if these are “deals with Gold” why are they available for silver members as denoted?

    • Professor Oak

THey are not supposed to be

  • fur low

I heard the sale on ps4 was better.

    • Carnage Rules

It might be, but look what you have to do to take advantage of that sale…buy a playstation…screw that nonsense, I’m not doing that

    • Guest

We’re not joining the ranks of pathetic paupers.

  • Peter

Nothing to see here sale wise. Usual ms sale trying to masquerade as deals when as usual the sale prices are more than the cost of these if you went out and bought a physical copy of these ancient games. Guess ps has my wallet this week. Needed a break too

    • IN_YO_FACE_86

Ahh so that’s why they wanted to push the whole digital only thing at one point.lol

  • mauszx

Has anyone notice the strange change rate…. or whatever is called. So Katamari is 6.73 dollars (something like that) 6.73 dollars = 86.79 Mexican pesos, but in Xbox live is 159.9 pesos (more o less) That is almost double. God dammit microsoft.

    • RodoDavidBandaA

        • ImTheMetalLord

But you never mention the import tax in your first statement. SMH@the funny man.

          • mauszx

Well because I was talking only on the huge difference of the price on xbox marketplace, I mentioned the taxes and all that because probably someone would say that it’s almost the same price difference on retail.

    • ImTheMetalLord

Yea what he said below. It’s a percent off not a price point. So it goes by what the regular price was in pesos then takes off, in this case for Katamari, 66%.

  • Axcalibur

Very nice to see MS listening to fans after having only the Combo Breaker version on sale a couple weeks ago. Lot’s of complaints about not including the Ultra version and here it is, with a special offer for those who bought the Combo Breaker version.

I’m still not compelled enough to purchase it. Especially given the shortage of Xbox One games, I have a feeling this will fall into the “Games With Gold” category before years end.

Anyone else annoyed that clicking a games link here only takes it to an info page with no option to purchase or even see the price? Xbox 360 games show the price through the link… or am I just missing something?

    • Does Not Equal

They haven’t adequately set up the Xbox One web store yet. Or updated the Xbox website to allow people to see what their friends are doing on the new system.

      • Peter

Agreed the x1 component of the website is basically disjointed and not complete and polished like the 360 part. You can easily see what new games dlc etc there are for 360 purchase them and get them into your download queue ready to play when you get home. The x1 Part is not complete. Best bet would be to skip it for anything x1 related for the time being and use your console to grab x1 stuff

  • Some Person

So did anyone see this sale and scream “Yay!” ? I don’t get the mentality of having the same items on sale again that you had on sale relatively recently but are now putting them on “sale” at a higher price than before…. oh well, next week should be good… seem to be one week good / one week bad as of late.

    • Stephen Nowak

if I didn’t have Beautiful Katamari in my collection, I’d have said “YAAAYYYYYY”

I’ll try ridge racer demo, good price for a racing game.

    • Peter

      Ancient Titles? Check

Games from previous sales and sense of deja vu? Check

Titles you could probably find cheaper elsewhere? Check

With the same repeating cycle of titles for sale you’d think xbox had very few titles available in its massive library. Not helping that ms knocks off a few measly bucks and calls it a sale.Very rarely do i see a see a sale on non xbl arcade titles that i can’t beat by going to amazon or elsewhere and paying less for the physical copy.

      • Some Person

Some of us actually prefer the digital format.

        • Peter

I actually wouldn’t have a problem per say with digital as its a matter of preference and has its pros and cons like anything. I don’t see digital however as a viable medium on a system that purposely discourages it by not allowing true external memory support.

and yeah don’t wanna rehash the whole 32 gig limit is b.s and don’t wanna download/delete games piecemeal workaround conversation

Ms trying to have a digital marketplace and trying to encourage it on a system that purposely restricts it is well you know

As far as costs ms also adds to that by pricing the games usually higher for the most part
          .

          • Some Person

The XFAT file structure is actually insanely picky which is why there are storage restrictions. When the console was developed no one seriously predicted the adoption rate of consumers with digital products. Steam was still in it’s infancy–probably not even open to the public–when the 360 dev cycle started, NetFlix was still a mail-order rental service, etc.

In order to get mass external storage on the system would require a major over-haul of the entire console which isn’t going to happen this late in the dev cycle.

The saddest thing is Microsoft learned from their conservative structure on the 360 when designing the One and the PS4 troll’s got them to remove all those innovative features that will be standard on PC in a year or two.

Most people don’t realize it but Halo 2 and Xbox LIVE is what seriously boosted–at least–America’s proliferation of broadband internet. They’ve done similar big pushes over the years with Windows (mostly server side stuff the average person wouldn’t know). Microsoft makes huge industrial pushes (one of the first real smart phones was by them) but no one acknowledges it.

        • Stephen Nowak

I like the digital format, because the re -sell value doesn’t go sky high after 20 years ….hopefully

          • Some Person

10+ year old digital titles usually sell for less than $5 USD on Steam / GOG

  • King

Oh my this is convenient, My Tekken Tag 2 disk randomly stopped working, and now it’s $6.79, awesome.

I recommend Tales Of Vesperia, it’s a great game, and even has Co-op once you get more party members.

  • tipejo

What?? SoulCalibur V and TTT2 again?? Think it’s the 3rd time they’ve been on sale this year… How about SoulCalibur IV + Darth Vader?? It’d be a nice change: the game is way better and Star Wars fan’d love it!!

    • Professor Oak

Is great game I have physical, would buy digital at a discount, that way I can keep the DiscOut of the equation, already own Darth

  • beardyman3218

    Is katamari a worthwhile purchase?

    • Stephen Nowak

I love Katamari. If you like Asian pop music and silliness it’s a good buy. The only problem with the game is not rolling up enough items and having to repeat the level, and a level can be 3-7minutes. I find moving the analog stick back and forth to make prince (character) run and pick up items faster a hard task, that’s why when I play I have to repeat levels because I need to memorize a level’s goodies are to roll up a larger katamari ball. It’s a solid casual game.

  • liljrSanchez

So disappointed that Enslaved DLC is not on sale this week…

    • Peter

don’t recall it ever was. maybe around release or at some other time? not to my recent recollection though Maybe some of the old timers here can chime in on that one

      • Sigognac

Owning the game for a long time, I personnally never saw the “DLC” on sale neither. A good reason to see it in a near future ?

    • Sigognac

Indeed. It would be fine to have the opportinity to complete a game when it is on sale, with “DLC” offered equally.

  • King

What do you guys make of Armored Core – Verdict Day, anyone played it?

    • Professor Oak

Just got it and played it a little pretty fun if you have friends to play with ( on separate console)

  • Harold Rivera

Next in GWG, Eternal Sonata, Soul Calibur II HD, Tales of Vesperia, Ridge Racer Unbounded, Soul Calibur V, by the way Eternal was 3.74 in december, and Calibur V was 3.74 last month, but nice sales anyway.

    • Sigognac

      Thank you for the reminder.
Ridge Racer Unbounded seems very interesting.

      • ImTheMetalLord

I bought it and all the dlc’s the last time they all were on sale and at this price it so worth it. It was written by the same people (Bugbear) that did the Flatout games that I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely recommend it.

        • Sigognac

Thank you for the advice. Liking dynamic and amusing racing games, I will surely look closer at this one.

        • Professor Oak

Might pick up, I remember playing Ridge Racer 64

  • Charles Adams

I don’t understand the math on the Ultra Edition upgrade. They say you can now upgrade from Combo to Ultra. So Ultra was originally $40, and Combo $20 putting the difference at $20. BUT the upgrade is listed ON SALE at $20 which is NOT a sale, that is just the price it should be for upgrading. So is the 50% OFF “SALE” just the new option to upgrade and it’s not on sale and upgrading is only a limited time offer?? So confused.

  • Jon Taylor

    My Fifa was free!

    • Professor Oak

      *Slow Claps*

  • Brad

Thanks to Bing search I got Ridge Racer for FREE. And even at the $4.99 price it’s still worth it. A fun game.

    • Harold Rivera

However it seems online servers are dead so no online for us who bought it.

      • Frogjerky

Yup. I just got it yesterday and after playing around enough to get a hang of it, tried taking it online. Very disappointing to see that I can’t even access the online whatsoever.

        • IN_YO_FACE_86

Wow really? I’m glad I didn’t buy that game-_-

          • Frogjerky

It’s still fun in single player, but the fact that the online is completely shutdown is simply unforgivable.

        • Harold Rivera

Yep and to make things worse they dont mention it on the deals nor there is any new about its servers going down on namco’s webpage.

      • IN_YO_FACE_86

Why would they sale us a game to where you can’t play online anymore?

  • Frogjerky

Picked up Ridge Racer Unbounded. Very disappointed to see that I can’t even go online anymore with it.

    • Sigognac

Some times, solo can be satisfying. But it is unfortunate for those who value the multiplayers side, since that game seems very well done.
Is there some “achievements” attached to online play ?

      • Harold Rivera

        Unfortunately yes.

      • Frogjerky

In racing games, I take the time to master the controls and tracks, usually getting at least a bronze in all cups before taking my skills online. I didn’t buy it solely for online play, but it was definitely where I expected to get the most replay value from. It does indeed have achievements attached to online play, and they’re very frustratingly just the type I would had gone for.

        • Harold Rivera

It seems our complaining helped because the online is up again as of now.

          • Sigognac

Good news ! Thank you for the information “Harold”.
Then it is what it should. When our honest point of view is considered, both players and conceptors benefit alike. For this consideration, I assure they will have sold one more game, and obviously more…

  • LysanderM

    That’s a big “N” – “O”.
