Here’s How to Join Xbox at E3 2014

With E3 less than two weeks away, the Xbox team is hard at work getting ready to show the world what we’ve got in store for the future. We can’t wait to share more with those of you watching from home or the office, but we also realize that some fans might want to do more than just watch. Although many E3 events are closed to the public, we know that a lot of our fans live in the greater Los Angeles area and would love to take part in celebrating all things Xbox. To that end, we’ve put together a number of great events taking place throughout the week of E3, both in LA and online. We hope to see you there!

Details on how to submit questions for the Post Show will be revealed soon.

Sunset Overdrive Event at Century City Microsoft Store hosted by Major Nelson (Wednesday, June 11 from 6 – 9pm)
Insomniac Games is taking the Sunset Overdrive E3 show floor experience outside of the LA Convention Center for one night only! Join us at the Century City Microsoft store to be among the first gamers to go hands on with this upcoming Xbox One exclusive. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the Insomniacs that make Sunset Overdrive and Xbox Live’s Major Nelson. Ice cold Overcharge Delirium XT awaits! (Yes, seriously)

ID@Xbox on Twitch (Tuesday through Thursday during E3 show hours)
While the Xbox E3 booth is open, we’ll be broadcasting what you want – straight gameplay. Every day, we’ll focus on two different ID@Xbox titles, with many of the developers stopping by to chat with viewers. We’ll also be taking many other titles over to the Twitch E3 booth throughout the week, so keep an eye on the main Twitch channel as well. The full broadcast schedule will be revealed at the beginning of E3 week.

Xbox.com/E3 is also a great place to catch up on the latest news.

Maybe next year I’ll make it to E3 but this year I sure can’t wait to watch it.

    Uber Excited

  • StaceyJK

Good oh. Looking forward to the show.

  • evilfangs .

Can’t wait, the whole of E3 will be amazing.

I reached my maximum number of pins allowed on my X1 :(
I was hoping to put every game I ever owned as a pin so I could look back in 10 years and see all my games I had played.

    • Nick Peck

Yah I noticed the new pins limitation as well. I don’t really like that as I was hoping to just pin everything I want and have it over there so I don’t have to “dig” into the games menu to launch anything. Honestly, it’s not like it’s hard for me to do that, but just an extra step I didn’t think I would have to take.

Hopefully it’s just a temporary thing. Also, can you reorder the pins via smartglass? I for the life of me cannot figure it out lol.

      • Harvey Burnett

Hit the menu button in the top left corner & select pins. You must do it from there, not the main screen.

        • Nick Peck

OK I thought I did that but I may have not hit the button then, or the tablet was hanging a bit which it can do sometimes. Thanks for the tip I’ll try it again.

          • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

You could also always just use the voice command to jump right into It :)

      • evilfangs .

It come in with the recent patch didn’t it? My guess is because the pins are stored in the cloud that if everyone had more then the 25 available it would clog up space and make things load slow.

If I was allowed unlimited pins I’d have over 200+ pins by the next of 5 years.

  • Nick Peck

2 weeks already? Wow, time flies. Looking forward to it for sure!

    • A. J.

Even better, less than 2 weeks! It is actually under 10 days now.

      • Nick Peck

        Yah I’m pretty pumped haha

  • Raul Rangel

    SEND ME TO E3!!!!!!!!!!

  • ChaosTheory V2X

I just hope the streams work well this year…

  • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

Man I am so excited for this e3. I say it every year, but I just feel so more excited this year because I truly feel 2015 will be the year of the true next gen game. well 2014 and Q4 of this year. Also I’m so psyched to see Phil Spencer on stage running things. I cant say enough how much I love that he’s the head guy now. The dude is cool as hell. COME ON E3!!!!!

    • Michael Shelburne

I’m right there with you man!

    • ryder4life22187

Why do you just say current Gen as there is no next Gen til next time

      • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

Because that wouldn’t make as much sense in the context in which I used the word.. besides does it bother you that much? lol. I meant it as in a leap in quality graphics and otherwise.

  • Gustavo Cruz

Major, what about a Spike tv broadcast? Is the Media Briefing going to be on tv?

  • Michael Shelburne

    10 days guys!!!! So pumped!

  • Death Dealer

I hope you guys do well but still believe it’s a mistake to go first when Sony already admits to changing their E3 announcements accordingly.
Break a leg! (in the good luck sense)…

  • evilfangs .

Xbox one can’t do background downloads while it’s powered down like the 360?

My internet is being rather poor tonight ( too lazy to get up and restart the router ) and it’s taking me ages to download the update for Wolfenstein, so I thought I’d power down my console and watch a movie while it downloads, but it appears I’d have to keep my console on to continue the download. Another feature missing?

    • Death Dealer

Yes it does do them. Are you sure you don’t have your power settings incorrectly configured?
Perhaps with your internet being poor for the night there was a disconnect and then the Xbox One stops completely and won’t automatically resume.

      • evilfangs .

I’m getting speeds of 7-15mbps ( which is vary / very poor for my standard of internet ) but it is possible my connection dropped or I have the wrong power settings.

        • deadbox102

I would love to have that speed.

          • evilfangs .

It’s horrible being that speed, waiting hours to download things is no fun.

          • deadbox102

Agreed. I like to go digital as much as I can, but starting a download and waiting to play the next day gets old.

          • evilfangs .

First world problems lol. I’m upset about getting speeds of 7-15mbps that most people would be happy to have because them speeds are like x5 slower then what I can normally achieve.

          • ryder4life22187

What speed are you getting? As 7 -15mbps is one of the cheapest plans in my area no way would I consider using that slow of a speed

          • evilfangs .

I can get speeds of 75 down and 25 up. Something was wrong with my internet last night. That sort of thing rarely happens though.

          • deadbox102

3-4 and it’s the only plan available. The joys of living in the mountains of north GA.

  • Anthony

    See you guys in LA!!

  • Jeff Rubenstein

All of the above! And Xbox 360 and Spike TV.

  • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

    In Phil we trust.

  • Michal

    GOOD LUCK! Xbox on <3

  • usrev

I’l be watching on spike tv like every other year.. I hope more people watch it and they start showing all the conferences and not just MS and EA.

  • Mikael Soltaniha

I srs can’t wait!!!! Besides, my birthday is June 9 ;)

  • spideymp

You could always shout me a plane ticket from Oz and a seat at the show!!! I wouldn’t complain if you did that. I might even be grateful ;-)

  • roozbeh, again

Good luck guys. Bring the games.

  • Derek D

Very excited! I ordered the new Kinect-less Xbox one. It should arrive while watching E3 which will make it even more special to me. I originally had a day one unit but the Kinect is such a POS and trying to navigate the menu using Kinect was just awful. I just could not justify paying the $100 extra for an added accessory that I never wanted in the first place. Now that Kinect is finally dead I, have no doubt that they will be making some updates to the menu to make it more controller friendly. I also don’t feel like I’m getting ripped off with the new price and Kinect gone. Now, if only they would bring back the 360 pop up dash menu, things would be perfect. :)

    • ImTheMetalLord

Kinect is not dead!! Not sure why you think that. Glad you are happy about getting it without the Kinect and hope it does arrive for you during E3. Very cool indeed. Think it’s a wonderful option for those like you that don’t want to use the additional options you get with the Kinect.

Hit the menu button on your X1 controller then click on settings and you have everything that you had on the 360 right at your fingertips. It’s like anything else you have to learn how to work your new toys. Hope that helps you when you get your new unit. Enjoy!!

      • Nick Peck

Agreed with what you said, but you have to understand people. Most people are afraid of change and don’t bother to learn their way around at all, which then leads them to complain how bad things are (when they have no clue as to how much easier they actually are).

Just how it goes. From day one the menu button has taken you to the options settings quick and easy and I find it amazing at how many people still haven’t figured that out lol.

    • Nick Peck

Or you could navigate via the controller and voice… were you seriously using your hands???? Glad I’m normal as I have no issues with my Kinect and I’d hate to have the system with out it as I use voice commands all of the time.

But to each his own, enjoy the new one that will work exactly the same :p

  • lassenwolf

Dark souls is the last 360 download for me. Ps3 muti player for all members -free .Xbox 1 gold home free for all. Wiiu free and now with Mario Kart 8 I’m having fun and don’t need three systems and have to pay for 4 gold accounts to play plants warfare. Bad buy on multi player only games for xbox 360. Love the game and now it’s coming to psn. it’s been a good run 360 over the last 9 years. Loved when there was family gold. Now I’m waiting for E3 to decide xbox1 or Ps4. With great wiiu games this year starting with Mario Kart 8 I only need or want 1 more system this time around. And i’m playing and in the psn now beta which is great

    • ryder4life22187

You do realize that PS4 you have to have Plus to play online right.

      • lassenwolf

I said i’m weighing the options of ps4 or xbox1 . I also talked about 360 and ps3. ps3 doesn’t need four pluses for online . plus is good for everyone and online for everyone. I have plus now anyway. so why pay for 4 gold to play online on 360. but you just want to chime in and not read.

  • DJStonewalker

I remember many discussions about what is possible on the 360 & One
when watching various televised programs so I wonder if for the E3
presentation while I watch it live on Xbox will the presentation be
enhanced with additional content on my TV screen. Things like a sidebar
with more information or questions like what I thought of the trailer I
just watched? Even a bit of comedy like after a particularly stellar
announcement the sidebar lights up with the word ‘BOOM’ on the side?
Given the greater processing power and Snap compatibilities on Xbox One
will there be something added to the live presentation that takes
advantage of what the Xbox One can do? These enhancements have been
used before with other programs on Xbox and seems like an AWESOME
    opportunity to do something more!

  • evilfangs .

9am PT is at 5pm GMT for us here in the UK correct? I hope so otherwise I’ll miss it due to work. I also hope Microsoft, Sony etc post their full shows online someplace so I can watch them at a later date.

    • ImTheMetalLord

9am is actually 4pm GMT because we are in Daylight Savings time right now and PDT is -7GMT.

      • evilfangs .

        Thanks.

  • LysanderM

    Have fun..

  • ImTheMetalLord

June 4th was the date that was announced.

  • beardyman3218

Please update twitch streaming to include streaming with custom privacy settings and the ability to turn off notifying friends when you start streaming.

  • Death Dealer

With Forza Horizon 2 being announced today, I sure hope MS didn’t blow their load prematurely. Could be cool if Phil Spencer came on stage at E3 and just said “F it”. Cross gen is good idea though, same for H2A. Make those games the Xbox 360′s swan song with good support.

    • evilfangs .

Where did you see this announcement? I only saw an announcement for Homefront 2.

      • Gazza!!!

        Its on IGN.

        • evilfangs .

My sub feed not showing up again then. I can see the announced Homefront 2 and Mortal Combat games but not the Horizon 2.

Edit: Oh I see now, on there website, not a video on YT.

          • beardyman3218

Heres hoping the xbox 360 version doesnt impact the xbox one version. Hopefully they hand it over to another studio to do it so they can put 100% into the xbox one version. No microtransactions is a must, they just spoil the game and handover races to whoever is willing to pay the most. EDIT: Just read that they have indeed handed over the last gen port to another studio.

          • Death Dealer

As long as the microtransactions are optional like in Forza Motorsport 5, I truly don’t mind. But I agree, let’s hope that the One version isn’t held back by the Xbox 360 version (which is a port by a separate studio). Both will likely be 30fps though, with only more resolution (and some effects) on the Xbox One version.

          • beardyman3218

I hope it will be 60fps, I cant believe they achieved what they did with forza horizon on 360 so can only hope they manage to squeeze 60fps. If its was a choice between 1080p 30fps or 900p 60fps, i would rather have the latter.

          • Death Dealer

I hope so too, but I’m not counting on it with new weather cycles having been added. Me too, I’d rather have 60, but the first Horizon wasn’t bad at all at 30fps, which was quite surprising to me actually.

          • beardyman3218

A solid 30fps would be good, forza horizon looked and felt great in 30fps, we can only hope :)

          • beardyman3218

The soundtrack was also a highlight for me, more of the same for FH2 and i would pre order in a heartbeat.

  • Mike

can you make pins available offline its stupid that i must be connected to the matrix to use pins. also please speed up the dash board. takes ages for friends list to display or achievements. also the friends online counter on front of dashboard does not refresh or update unless i click on the friends app. when im in a game and hit the guide button to see the front dash to check if anyone online yet, im tired of it saying only one friend online and after going into the friends app to view what they are doing to find i actually have 12 friends online.

    • Nick Peck

How do you have favorites set up for the friends list? There are a few things you need to change around to “fix” that.

  • Mike

also, please can we get a normal list of achievements like the 360 that we can scroll through. the chunky icons for the blind are slow and pointless, especially as most achievements have only a couple of words on them. such an effort to view what you got the achievements for. make it a list with the explanation next to it rather than have you click on each one to find out.

  • Cheeze Ace

    deal of weak

    • ImTheMetalLord

I posted a list on the Horizon 2 Announcement blog.

  • Mr&Mrs Ninja

Everyone check out the new UFC demo!

  • Jorge Fondevila

And SKYPE for XBOX 360 is not within applications??
