            Yeah I called the gods,lol.

  • Death Dealer

Nothing for me today. Halo 4 is still expensive here in the Netherlands, so I’ll just buy the MCC once it releases on the Xbox One.

I’m here to say this too and it’s negative. The people at MS running the show are not smart at all and prove it with this news just coming out: “Microsoft ‘no longer plans’ for Xbox One retail units to double as dev kits”. It’s likely the same thing with the Family Sharing that Phil Spencer was saying he doesn’t want to split the userbase with retail versions not being able to do that.
Seriously, GTFO MS, that functionality is yet another thing that set your system apart from the PS4. You are now nothing more than a lower speced console at the same price with nearly no distinguishable features and that’s going to hurt you a lot more at the bottom line.
This ability and its sideloading potential was your salvation. That’s THE reason why you’re so afraid of it and pulled it because you know it will allow all kinds of unsigned programs like emulators to run on every system.

    • maxy

Im sorry to burst your bubble, buy why you saying MS to GTFO of here since here its their place, you really need to put your mind in work.

      • theREALmaxy

Just because other people buy some games from sales, doesn’t make them kids.

    • http://matejgottwald.wordpress.com/ Matěj Gottwald

I understand your frustration, but just a couple of humble notes:
      1) This will affect like no gamer.
      2) Given there is ID@Xbox, for most of the devs this is not an issue.
      3) The idea of turning any retail Xbox One into dev platform was very, very ambitious but probably wasn’t worth the cost or trouble.
      4) Regarding the Family Sharing: Phil Spencer already said he wants to make it happen.
      5) If the original Xbox One policies were in place, Family Sharing would be possible for everyone (because all games would be digital, with the same licenses, the only difference would be that you could either download it from the internet/Xbox Live, or download it from the game disc).

      • Some Person

To get signed up with ID@Xbox you need to have had major prior releases. It’s nowhere near the same.

        • http://matejgottwald.wordpress.com/ Matěj Gottwald

I am not saying it is the same. I am just saying it is probably not worth the cost/dev time (or maybe a lot of other reasons). For gamers (which makes like 99% of the customers) it is not an issue, that’s probably why Microsoft so easily scrapped it.
But again – I understand the frustration, definitely there is a couple of people out there (like you) who really counted on this feature (although Microsoft never really promised that) and they feel mad about it (and they’re right to do so). However, most people are totally unaffected.

          • Some Person

Um, no Microsoft did promise it. They promised full Unity integration into Xbox One so much to the point that even a few days ago Microsoft bought out a major piece of debugging software designed solely for Unity. The deal was so concrete that Unity talked about it at two different UNITE conferences (they happen once a year) and how all users of the One will get to create, load, and play what they design.

This is a severe breach of consumer loyalty.

          • ElektroDragon

I think you mean “a severe breach of consumer confidence/trust”.

          • Some Person

Haha, possible… I’m agitated. Loyalty works too though, I am loyal to Microsoft. I enjoy all their products. I vehemently defend Windows 8 and Windows Phone. I am very much a “fanboy” when it comes to this company. In return for my loyalty they seem to believe it’s OK to make some major promises and then dump them.

          • ElektroDragon

I used to be JUST like you.. for YEARS. And then my allegiance wavered for many reasons. I still have a Windows Phone, an Xbox One, and Win 8 tablet. But now I bought my wife an iPhone, I bought a PS4 as my main next gen platform, and I bought an iPad, which I use way more than my Win 8 tablet. It’s fun to be a “fanboy”, but it’s MORE fun to always have the best, most awesome product. Instead of rooting for the home team, its like always rooting for the winning team, and feeling good about it. :D

          • Some Person

See, the thing is I’ve used iPads and iPhones and they honestly are subpar, over-priced machines. Apple is big on planned obsolescence which is a huge turn off for me… I also hate their GUIs. There is some good to be said about Apple (their directory file structure for example) but overall I do think it creates inferior products. I enjoy my Android tablet but miss Office on it so chances are I’m going to upgrade to one of those Win8 convertibles…. the Surface Pro 3 is nice, the price tag is not.

          • Justin Felder

I’m not a big fan of that one-button on all the iOS stuff. Also there aren’t enough advanced options of me. I want to be able to ruin my device with a setting.

    • Some Person

Please tell me you’re not serious about the loss of the dev kit functionality. That was about 80% of the reason I opted to stick with Microsoft this generation. I know some of the trolls out there who blindly follow Microsoft will say some BS about this (i.e. Maxy below) but I’m sick, tired, and frustrated with this company that used to be fantastic.

Do you think we can all sue Microsoft for false advertising? The Xbox One is the complete opposite of everything that they promised it was going to be. You cannot promise features and then a year after release say “Nevermind.”

      • maxy

It’s kind of the opposite you are the blind ps fanboy.

      • Nick Peck

Yah, because maybe .001% would actually consider using the system as a dev kit lol. Considering if you sign up at ID@Xbox you get a dev kit to work on anyways (which most will already have anyways, how else are they making games if they aren’t using a store bought XBO?). I don’t think it’s a big deal and I doubt anyone out there will even notice or care.

Except for people like you that never stop trashing MS at every given chance. Again, why are you still here? Just wondering.

        • Some Person

To sign up with ID@Xbox you need major releases under your belt. First time indie studios need not apply. Obviously you didn’t read that the first time so I had to say it again.

          • Nick Peck

I did read that and I said there are other ways to get said dev kit to start making games (though it was in another post in this thread so yah, it’s a little out of context on my part).

You can get a dev kit through the program, though there are a few hoops to jump through vs. having already had prior games released. If I can find that article I read I’ll post it, though links never make it into these posts.

          • Some Person

Investing $2000+ in a dev kit isn’t worth it to a lot of start-ups. PS3/4 have a huge indie scene because it’s easily accessible. Microsoft had presumably learned from that mistake with the One and now countermanded it. It’s rubbish, plain and simple. This isn’t “trolling” or anti-Microsoft propaganda. It was seriously the major reason I bought the One and I know more than a fair share of people who bought it for the same reason.

          • Nick Peck

It’s not 2k though lol, going off of old info I take it? So you bought the XBO to make games on it? I know a lot of people and have talked to a lot of people and this has never come up once since MS mentioned it… hmmmm.

          • Some Person

You know, I’m looking at the ID@Xbox page right now and I’ll quote from them.

“Can I use my retail Xbox One as a developer kit?

As part of our vision for enabling everyone with an Xbox One to be a creator, we intend to enable people to develop games using their retail Xbox One consoles. Right now, though, you still need a developer kit.”

I didn’t buy it just to “make games” but for the ability to get a vast amount of indie titles available to me. I’m not sure if you do PC gaming at all but seriously some of the best titles in the past five years have come out of 1-10 person studios.

          • Nick Peck

Obviously they didn’t update the page yet haha. Things change and I’m sure there is a reason for it. However startups are able to get dev kits, but there is a small process in doing so. But if a studio is that excited to do it they will.

Why would you need to enable the dev kit part of the XBO to play indies when you can just buy them as is now? There are a bunch of them available already with countless others on the way. I don’t pc game anymore, haven’t in awhile as I don’t like sitting at a pc when I get home. I used to though for a long time.

I don’t really care for indies but I respect that you like them. there are definitely some hidden gems from the little guys that’s for sure.

          • Some Person

You don’t need the dev kit to play them but people need dev kits to produce them. I don’t enjoy the idea of missing out on another FTL, Rogue Legacy, Gone Home, Amnesia, etc. simply because Microsoft cannot keep a simple promise as of late.

          • Nick Peck

I know you need a dev kit to make them, but the program would supply it, it just wouldn’t be on the store bought system.

But anyways, this just happened :D

[UPDATE] Microsoft has released a statement on the matter, saying that it has not in fact scrapped the plan to allow all Xbox One retail units to be used as development kits.

“The comments today were inaccurate. We remain committed to ensuring the best possible solutions for developers and hobbyists to create games for Xbox One. We will share more details at a later date.”

          • Some Person

That’s a very political way of saying “We’re not going to tell you anything.” Companies need more transparency. I will believe it when I see marked progress. I freely admit I’ve become quite jaded when it comes to the Xbox these past nine months. I wanted the Xbox One that was promised and what I finally got was so removed from it that it’s a joke. That combined with weak (and repeat) sales and a declining multiplayer community (read: getting even more immature) is… frustrating.

          • Nick Peck

I was totally fine with the original XBO policies as none of them would have really affected me. I’m always connected to the net, if my net did go down I can hotspot my phone, I don’t load games out… blah blah. I was one of the few that was ok with it.

However, I’m ok with the way it is now because in all honesty, the net isn’t everywhere it should be so something did need to change. I like forward thinking but unfortunately the populous is still stuck in their “I hate change bubble” which makes it hard for any company to really change things up.

The MP is still there as it has always been, but since the ps3 and 360 have sales like this people are bouncing back n forth between systems still. However that will slowly change over the next year or so once the new gen age is moving full steam (again, we are like what, 8 months into it and people expect way to much for such a short timeline). Trust me, I wish some things would happen faster, but at the same time you have to be realistic.

As for immaturity…. just look around, it knows no bounds and is EVERYWHERE. There is no systems community that is better than the other, not PC, Nintendo, Sony or MS, trolls and idiots outnumber us normal folks 100 to 1. I agree, it’s annoying and I pretty much mute everyone unless I know them.

As for transparency? there’s to much of it imo. I like the “old days” when you didn’t know much about anything until it was out and you were wowed. These days it’s almost like you beat the game reading so much about it, that by the time it’s out you really aren’t that excited for it and just blow through it to move onto the next game. That sense of new game wonder is almost all but gone anymore.

There are a bunch of other issues I see daily but I don’t feel like typing all of if :D At the end of the day, just be happy with what you have since we game to have FUN in the first place. MS has made some obvious mistakes but have luckily fixed them and have moved forward. A lot of the changes have been for the better and I hope they keep it up moving forward.

Now that they have an actual stable ground to stand on they just need to keep up the forward momentum. I have owned two ps4′s and ended up selling them both because I just never play them. Sure they have a few games that I want, but I can live with out them. I just don’t like the DS controllers all that much, though the DS4 is a big step in the right direction. I like it but I just hate how stiff the sticks are as my thumbs just tire after awhile. I don’t have that issue on the XBO and I love the sticks tension, so nice and smooth imo.

It’s all personal preference and bashing one company over another solves nor accomplishes anything. Sony has made a ton of mistakes over the years as well, no company is perfect. Just worry about the fun man and don’t focus on the negative so much, you will be much happier in the end.

          • ElektroDragon

You won’t miss out. Small devs like those will easily make it into ID@XBOX and even more easily onto the PS4, like my friend proved with Axiom Verge. It’s only the small fry one man operations just learning to make games that get left in the dark, you just won’t see THEIR games. Also, not every PC indie success wants to bother with console ports. A lot of them went with PC because they hate consoles, etc. and probably feel like they’re getting more income from PC than they ever would from console. Let’s face it, the PC installed base is WAAAY bigger than all consoles combined.

          • Michael Burden

And you failed to catch that Microsoft has already flat-out denied this rumor. Retail boxes converting to Dev Kits is still coming at some point in the future.

          • ElektroDragon

SPEAK OF THE DEVIL! Rogue Legacy was just officially announced as a PS4 exclusive on PS Blog, with a Plat. So woot.

          • Some Person

Of course it was, Microsoft doesn’t seem to want to support the true indie developers. That game–fantastic fun by the way–was created by two brothers who put out $15,000 to get it out the door. Why the Devil should they be required to put out another $2,000+ to get Microsoft to look at it and potentially say “Sorry, not our thing.” It’s just not conducive for indies to make games for Xbox.

          • ElektroDragon

If you’re a startup and don’t have the means or will to even spend $2000 on a devkit, you’re not going anywhere anyways and your game will probably suck.

          • Some Person

Really? FTL was critically applauded, was made (for the most part) by one guy with very little money. Gone Home is another example. Amnesia was a huge hit for a handful of very broke people. I could continue…

          • ElektroDragon

And those are PC games, which supports my previous points above. Once they get some acclaim and income from PC, going to console will be very easy, especially now that the architectures are more PC-like than ever.

          • Some Person

… yet Microsoft still reneges on promises. Why would they want to port something instead of natively building for it after a developer screws them over?

          • ElektroDragon

That’s a good thing, we need some quality control. Can you imagine games with the quality of Xbox Live Indie Games (i.e. the XNA games) all having 1000 Gamerscore? The AAA publishers would have a seizure, and it would cheapen the whole achievements system even more than giving every game 1000 GS already has.

Let’s face it, XBLIG was a failure. I guess it was a great learning tool for hobbyists but that’s about it. ID@XBOX is much much better. We can get QUALITY indie games, and small studios don’t need a stupid publisher anymore.

You’d get a better pay off today making levels for Spark or even Little Big Planet than making an XBLIG with XNA (not that it matters since MS killed both those programs off).

If you really want something like XBLIG, try Steam Greenlight.

          • Some Person

The games submitted to the Games Store would still need to pass official certification from Microsoft. In order to get achievements and multiplayer access to the player Microsoft would have had to OK it. That was NOT a requirement with the entire “Indie Games” section. I honestly think that failed because of lack of advertisement and it being buried behind three or four different menus. It was a pain to find, required an extra software front-end, and had a lot of limitations put into place on what could and could not be released (via a peer-review system).

          • ElektroDragon

It failed because the games mostly sucked, the peer review let too much trash through, and they had no GS. I don’t think hidden menus had much to do with it. When the program was launched I downloaded EVERY SINGLE INDIE GAME and attempted to try them all, before realizing I could not keep up with the deluge, and that 90% of the stuff was junk, (as opposed to be maybe 20% junk for actual Arcade titles) and gave up entirely.

ID@XBOX is a much better program if you have ambition and want to get noticed. It’s more friendly to consumers and small development houses. Not as friendly to one person hobbyists, I will admit.

But one man hobbyists can still succeed on PC AND on PS4. My college buddy is bringing Axiom Verge to PS4 and he is JUST ONE GUY.

You just picked the wrong platform.

          • Some Person

You just made my point. People picked the Xbox One because of a promise made by Microsoft to all the indie developers. Now they quietly renege on that promise shutting down all the developers who would prefer to work on Xbox.

A few months ago at the Microsoft Developer Conference they touted the “Universal App” which would allow any developer to easily build on Windows 8 Dekstop, Windows 8 Metro, and Xbox One. Now Xbox One is out. It’s bollocks.

          • ElektroDragon

OK, I do agree with you, in the end.

          • Some Person

I just looked up Axiom Verge… this is why Microsoft needs to let the “hobbyist” have easy access to development. “Metroidvania” has always been one of the most enjoyable genres for me and even the badly done ones are still usually pretty good. If Microsoft kept their promise your mate could have put this on Xbox One and I’d have bought it in a heartbeat.

          • ElektroDragon

            Good point.

          • Bush

were the XBLIG’s that bad? we never got them here in Ireland, never even had a chance to try any.

          • ElektroDragon

You didn’t miss a thing, for the most part.

          • Bush

jasus no wonder it never came out here so. i was excited when they launched XNA all those years ago too.

          • Some Person

Some were good, others not so good. You needed to pay a premium to develop for the “Indie Games” program which turned off some people I believe. It was based on a peer-review community run by adolescent boys so games based on pictures of barely clothed anime women were always allowed by philosophical games, or those with emotional or homosexual characters, often didn’t pass “peer-review.” On top of that you needed to use the XNA architecture which really wasn’t that horrible but was incredibly poorly documented.

          • Bush

interesting. so childish junk was pushed to the front, while good well thought out games got bottom listed.

          • Some Person

Pretty much. The amount of games one there with any frequency were Minecraft clones, Angry Bird clones, and still images of the aforementioned anime/hentai women.

          • ElektroDragon

Hence curation was required by professionals. We can’t have a free for all anymore. ID@XBOX basically guarantees curation.

          • Some Person

… but only if you have a “proven track record of successful console development.” They’ll give you a dev kit if you made Fez and have so much money that you don’t need to worry about the free dev kit. The guy who creates the next FTL or your old mate however get screwed.

          • Does Not Equal

Don’t forget the recent flood of Flappy Bird clones. There are some true indie gems out there, and there are some really cool developers (James Silva, for example), but you do have to wade through a lot of knockoffs.

          • Some Person

I meant “Flappy Bird” instead of “Angry Birds.”

          • Does Not Equal

There are dozens of both, so you weren’t wrong either way.

          • Ross Kemp

            That’s fascinating .

          • Ross Kemp

            That’s wonderful .

          • Does Not Equal

There were a few gems. Anything by James Silva (who continued to make indie games even after he succeeded in becoming an XBLA developer) was good, and I know a lot of my Asian friends were pretty into an indie-made mahjongg (not the tile-matching) game. It’s not a big loss, but most anyone could find something worth a couple bucks.

          • Ross Kemp

            That’s great .

      • Michael Burden

Feature is still coming, Microsoft has said those comments were incorrect. You cannot believe the majority of these gaming web sites as they will latch on the first rumor, post a story that exaggerates what actually might have been said, and fail to do any fact checking before posting it. Then all the other ones will copy and paste the same article (also without verifying any information), maybe only putting “report” on there in order to alleviate any responsibility to the truth of the article. It’s truly pathetic, any real news outlet would have fired all these gaming “journalists” long ago.

      • Paul

Sony did it they dropped Lynx out of the PS3 and stopped back compatible

        • Some Person

Who’s talking about backwards compatibility or streaming?

      • http://matejgottwald.wordpress.com/ Matěj Gottwald

BTW: “every console a dev kit” is back on the table according to the latest MS statements.

    • Some guy

One more disapointement to the list, we’re at what, 8 now? I’m amazed you guys still belive MS is not actively trying to piss of their consumers and come back to complain after like it was something new.

    • ImTheMetalLord

Sounds like it was a bad rumor. Must of been the competition that “leaked” that info. Console wars are so much fun to watch.

  • Riekopo

Why isn’t there an Xbox One summer sale?

    • Some Person

Given the rate at which Microsoft is reversing it’s decisions (dev kit, family sharing, Tomb Raider sale pricing, Kinect, etc.) expect the Xbox One Summer Sale in 6 months.

      • ElektroDragon

        LOL

      • Nick Peck

        Put the pitchforks down buddy

“[UPDATE] Microsoft has released a statement on the matter, saying that it has not in fact scrapped the plan to allow all Xbox One retail units to be used as development kits.

“The comments today were inaccurate. We remain committed to ensuring the best possible solutions for developers and hobbyists to create games for Xbox One. We will share more details at a later date.”

    • Nick Peck

Because it’s only 8 months old and has around 60 games in total for it? So, come back in about 4 years when they have a full library to pull from like the 360 and it’s 3k+ titles. Also, why would you drop brand new games pricing down so low which in turn would make people not want to buy games when they come out which isn’t very good for business.

“hey, a new system came out yesterday, why isn’t it on sale already???” lolz. Come on guys, really? Common sense.

      • evilfangs .

You don’t need to do a massive sale like 50% off, just do what Sony does with PS+. For example, Mousecraft a indie(?) game that released today for £9.99 but if you’ve PS+ you get 10% off which although only makes it £8.99 it’s still something.

  • splashpaint

is Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes worth 10 bucks?

    • Nick Peck

From everyone I have talked to and things I have read, not really. But that’s just what I have gathered, though I could care less about that personally, you might really like it. not sure man, wish there was a demo :D

      • Some Person

Can a demo have a demo? What would that be? The first 9 minutes of the game before the male-dominated sexual abuse of the female character?

        • Nick Peck

Yah, I haven’t even looked at that after hearing how it should have just been that, a demo. Yet people bought it at $30… ouch.

    • Peter

Having bought it full price no. To be blunt its a glorified demo for konami to doubledip for cash. That said at 10 bucks at least thats fair pricewise. Buy it at that price but anymore than that not worth it.

    • Some Person

No, it’s a less than ten minute long demo… seriously.

      • Gazza!!!

You can run through the main mission in 10 minutes. There are a few side missions which add some longevity to it but its a really short game unless you want to get all the achievements and A ranks.

    • Gazza!!!

Depends if you are ok with a game which is essential a small open world playground with some missions. IMO its worth it at that price.

    • ElektroDragon

I tried it. Story was boring as heck. But then again I think ALL MGS games are boring, so I may not be the best judge. LOL Gameplay was decent if you get past boring story and characters.

    • Sknots

My answer is Yes, gameplay is great, feels really well polished, graphics are probably the best in the series it looks beautiful, i liked the story, its like watchin a movie (just like every MG lol) , about its lenght….people say they can complete the MAIN MISSION under 10 min, it took me 1 hr, maybe i dont have asian gamer skills like everyone claim they have but thats just the main mission, it has a lot of different side missions and a lot of replay value, i loved it so yes i recommend it

      • Some guy

Thing is, people don’t seem to realise speedruns are made after playing the game.
You can finish mario 64 in less than an hour but to actually do it you need to know everything about the game or use internet.
That said it’s still a very short game that will probably be bundled with Phantom Pain at some point.

        • Sknots

finish mario 64 in less than an hour? pfft, impossible, no human can do that

          • Bennijin

            Of course they can’t.

            speeddemosarchive DOT com/Mario64.html

      • Walter Alvarez

as you have the game i have a question are there any benefits for having ground zeroes , that can be exclusive for the Phantom Pain or some bonus dlc ??

  • maxy

Thank god that piece of s*it who spammed my profile finally got banned. The whole blog got cleaned.

    • Gazza!!!

      What did I miss?

      • Some guy

        Ironic shitposter
Kept saying how great MS is and how we shouldn’t buy games at less then 60$ because it hurt the develpers.

        • Gazza!!!

Been a while since we had one of those.

        • Some Person

That sounds like someone I know…

      • maxy

Nothing, just a pathetic loser who is the biggest moaner on this blog and he spammed my profile with BS.

  • MathGuy42

To those who care about achievements, Halo 4 has 9 DLC achievements which can glitch and become unobtainable. Go to the Halo Waypoint and look for “Halo 4 Achievement Issues” in the Support Forum. Also, as others have mentioned, Arcania has 2 unobtainable achievements.

    • ElektroDragon

Except on PS3 where all Arcania “achievements” are obtainable. Just a friendly service announcement.

    • ryder4life22187

Does it really matter. What happen to playing games to play games. Not sure why people care about a stupid fictional score

      • ImTheMetalLord

If you are part of the Rewards program the Gamerscore does determine your reward level.

        • Professor Oak

Yeah, I get 5 dollars in rewards at the end of the month!

        • ryder4life22187

ya i am part of the rewards program. it used to do me alot of good when i used to buy a ton of content on the 360. But got tired of transferring my games and DLC to the pc just to buy new games or dlc. So until MS gives us the option to use a bigger HD it doesn’t really do me any good as i rarely buy anything from live anymore due to space constrants

      • MathGuy42

Hence my preface, “to those who care about achievements.” You don’t care about achievements and that is fine. 41 pages of complaints about the Halo 4 glitches on the Waypoint forum shows that many do care. They are important to me since they give me a greater sense of completion as well as giving extra goals. Let’s respect the gaming choices of others.

If you would like to understand why achievements are important to some gamers, I suggest the academic paper “The Achievement Machine: Understanding Xbox 360 Achievements in Gaming Practices” by Mikael Jakobsson, available at gamestudies dot org. He argues that achievements are a metagame in the style of an MMO.

        • ryder4life22187

I know some people enjoy achievements but like I said I don’t. Part that bothers me the most about achievements is people will either pass a game entirely due to how hard the achievements are or they will soley play a game due to how easy the 1000G is. I liked em when I first got my xbox 360 but it shortly faded after a few years as to me it just became a pointless score.

  • Professor Oak

For hose who don’t know, Banjo Bundle went up a few hours ago under Arcade, $15 for both Banjo Kazooi And Banjo Tooie. Normally $15 each. I picked it up, pretty good deal

    • maxy

Nice, I will put it in my list. Thank you for the report. :)

    • ElektroDragon

Yipes, that still too much! If they had thrown Nuts and Bolts in that Bundle, they’d have a deal though!

      • ImTheMetalLord

Yea 50% off is a good deal but 66% off is better. Actually think if they did all 3 for $20 I would not be able to ignore it. Never been into the series but 3 games for either of those prices would be hard to ignore.

      • ryder4life22187

I’d say its not that bad of a deal. In my area locally the first banjo game on n64 goes for 15to20$

    • ryder4life22187

That sucks already have the first banjo game. One if those moments I feel I should have waited but that was about 4yrs ago when I bought it

  • ImTheMetalLord

Question, MSG V Ground Zero or BAO Blackgate? I have $10 in rewards and I’m going to choose one or the other. I have read all the bad stuff on both but anyone that has played both which one would you choose if you only had $10?

    • ElektroDragon

If you like the MGS universe and story, GZ is a no brainer pick. But if you think that Batman is awesome and Solid Snake is boring like I do, Blackgate is an obvious choice despite being lower quality on a technical level. Beware that for a multi-console owner, Blackgate only has 400GS but a Platinum on PS3. Trouble is, it’s not sale on PS3. :)

      • maxy

I really love when after every recommendation you talk about for the PS3 versions as well.

    • Gazza!!!

Haven’t played BAO but MGS is a fun game, unfortunately its very short unless you want to explore every side mission and the different ways of completing them.

    • maxy

I will recommend you BAO Blackgate since its a game that I purchased today and im enjoying it, I didn’t play MGS though.

    • James Gassett

please dont support MGS Ground Zeroes or charging for demos will become commonplace.

  • Sigognac

Is one of you have an opinion about Arcania and Dragon Age II ?
Are their stories tied to the previous titles of both series ? or are they independant ?
Dragon Age II seems more oriented on tactics and Arcania more toward a “solo experience”, is it right?

    • cortez

Dragon age 2 is like mass effect with swords and very dynamic. don’t believe the negative comments about it. it is awesome and way better than Origins in my opinion

      • Sigognac

Having played (only the beginning of) Origins, I wondered.
        Thank you.

    • Some Person

Arcania is technically Gothic 4 but has absolutely nothing to do with the Gothic series sadly. Dragon Age II… well it helps to know the background lore of the world but the stories are independent of each other. You won’t be lost in either really.

  • cortez

i sure hope assassins creed liberation or lococycle or skullgirls pop up for at least 50% off the price

    • Some guy

      Vampire Rain?

  • Christopher Waling

Finally got my hands on Skyrim having got the DLC a few months back, also picked up Arcania, seems this sale favours RPG’s for me :)

  • José Netto

anyone figured out the game through the keyhole for tomorrow? …seems plants vs. zombies…

    • ImTheMetalLord

No keyhole for me in America. :( I wish i saw the pic. Do you know of any webpage that is posting it? I can’t even find it on xbox dot com.

      • evilfangs .

Was just about to post the same apart from UK for me.

      • José Netto

nope, actually been trying to find out somewhere where ppl would be guessing around the internet.. no luck.. just me and my guesses…

      • José Netto

you can see a green character with an angry eye and spiked red hair…

      • José Netto

don’t you guys have the sales on console? it’s in there on my menu under “great sales” (main dashboard) submenu “next” (Portugal)

        • ImTheMetalLord

Yep it shows the ultimate sale but no keyhole when you go into it. I’ve looked everywhere the last 2 days. Even keep going back and checking. They must think we in the UK and US don’t like to play guessing games. Major…if you happen upon my post can you say something to someone and get that fixed. We want to play too.

          • José Netto

stuff like this all over the place… here in Pt no Halo 4, not available 4 download… no care to this fail so far… have it on disc, but still doesn’t go well on impressions, you know?

          • Ricardo Baptista

Yes, why is it not available in Portugal?

          • José Netto

probably no digital rights over here :( ..still you can find it much cheaper on game uk site…

      • Does Not Equal

Just go to the German (or Portuguese) Xbox page and look. That’s how I found it.

        • Ross Kemp

          That’s fascinating .

        • BiggerBernard

          That’s lovely

    • Desert Crawler

Yes, at least for that region, it seems to be Garden Warfare. That is the cactus character in the keyhole image.

  • Walter Alvarez

Any Comments ( Good or Bad) about Dragon Age II?? im feeling curious about it , mainly because of the price, however i played origins and really didnt like it all.

    • James Gassett

I personally hated both dragon age games but I can say part 2 was better imo.

      • マリオ

I didn’t like DA1 either and decided not to bother with DA2.

    • Nikolaos K.

If you didn’t like the first one, then I don’t see how would you like the sequel which is a dumped down version of the first and worse in almost every aspect..

    • Some Person

Dragon Age: Origins is a tactical RPG. Dragon Age II is more of a hack and slash. I appreciate the second one but I loved the first one. I always tell people this, “Dragon Age II is a great game but for BioWare it’s a let down.” If another studio had made it I’d hold it in high regard.

That said, if you couldn’t get into the lore of the first one you probably won’t care for the sequel.

    • Jim Charette

Not as good as Origins. It’s an ok game(combat is better than Origins) but honestly not a good entry in the series

  • Bennijin

Bit of a dud day today really.
Halo 4 £14.99, You’ve been able to find it at or below £5 for months and you can find the GOTY version for £14.99.

ArcaniA £3.74: Reliably informed the game’s a broken glitchfest (unobtainable achievements!) and, worse, it’s a bad game.

    WWE 2K14 £19.99: It’s £16 at GAME.

Dragon Age II £3.74: Actually not a bad price. Is there a version with all DLC?

Blackgate £7.99: Lol are you joking? That’s the deal price? I actually thought the price hadn’t dropped when I saw it.

    • Some guy

      Tomorow is just as good

COD: Black Ops II : 50% off
      Oblivion : 75% off
      Assassin’s Creed® Liberation HD : 50% off
Red Faction: Armageddon : 75% off
Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare : 33% off

      • Tanner

        God he’s right :(

      • IN_YO_FACE_86

Awww hell I guess another day I keep my money:(

  • MacPh1sto

It’s true. In the GameStop ad that just started today, Dishonored GotY is on sale for $15 new.

  • Some Person

Imagine that, Black Ops II is on sale yet again… what’s this, the twentieth time?

    • Gary Eller

totally …it is the “things we have had on sale a thousands times” sale.

      • Some Person

No, it’s the “Ultimate games we’ve had on sale a thousand times already” sale.

  • マリオ

Day 3 is worse that Day 1 and 2. Why do they do this all the time?

  • Jim Charette

Day 3 is awful….PvZ Garden Warfare $20.09, ACLiberation $9.99, Red Faction Armageddon $6.89, COD BLOPS 2 $29.99(Gamestop sells it cheaper I believe) and Oblivion $3.74

    • Professor Oak

Would pick up PvZ if it was at least 50% off… AC Liberation is OK. Oblivion is good at that price…

      • Jared

        where for 50% off pvz.

        • Professor Oak

          It’s not, READ

        • AC130

          33% learn to XBLDB.

    • AC130

Oblivion seems alright for that price. Rest is probably double that over here so yeah.

  • Jared

    • AC130

WWE 2K14, Batman Blackgate Edition, AC Liberation are all newish titles. Don’t expect games that just released to get discounted themselves though. PvZ Garden Warfare is new though.

      • Jared

  • Professor Oak

Gotta love how the Major Ignored the fact that a Banjo Bundle came out on the At the XBLA store. Banjo Kazooi and Banjo Tooie for $15. Why is he not promoting this. In fact no one is promoting this deal, both games usual price is $15. Good deal, I picked it up.

    • Dustin

Ikr! I already have both of them but that’s a great deal!

  • Jared

Call of duty Black ops II GOTY AT EB Games Canada is $39 and buy it only $30 lol MS Buy it from EB Games.

  • Ricardo Baptista

Why isn´t Halo 4 available in Portugal?

  • MrUgly

Micro$$oft you should rename these deals as “ultimate joke sale day 3, 4, 5,…”
I wish you the worst!! f444ck you!!

  • Ross Kemp

If Sony made a , for argument sake…..” 8 minute work out DVD ”
MS would make a ” 10 minute work out DVD ”
They want in on things , but they just have no idea how to treat their customers or how to market their wares .
