Arcade, Deal, Marketplace, Xbox 360, Xbox 360 Games On Demand By Jeff Rubenstein

  • Some Person

Oh my Lord, NBA 2K14 bling packs!

  • Some Person

    Painkiller — $5

  • Brad

    Nascar ’14 – $20.09

    • Some Person

      Gotta give the rednecks something…

      • thesnyke

        And everyone else nothing

  • The Anonymous Doctor

If BioShock Infinite is on sale tomorrow then I will finally pick it up.

    • Some Person

It’s coming in at just under $10 right now so if you want it now’s the time… wasn’t bad but it is over-rated.

      • The Anonymous Doctor

I think I will like it but like you said I think people might have exaggerated how good it is.

        • thesnyke

it’s a matter of opinion if you think it is a good game, that’s why it has mixed reviews, so you might like it. The dlc is meh

        • Some Person

It’s not a bad game at all, just not as good as past games.

        • majorasshole

No it looks great and the story’s amazing… it’s just the gameplay (the shooting) is pretty generic and unsatisfying (In my opinion).

    • Brad

      $9.89

  • Brad

Still on the fence about the Silent Hill HD Collection. I have never played a Silent Hill game, and I really want to, but the collection is supposed to be horrible.

    • Dylan

It is. I’ve played it on both platforms and I can safely tell you, SH 2 is one of my all time favorite games but it is sincerely HORRIBLE on 360. Audio, video, everything is plagued with bugs.

It was terrible on PS3 as well, but updates fixed that. Guess Konami didn’t want to pay the 50K for updates on the 360.

      • Some Person

Bah, SH2 isn’t bad… dislike some of the fog effects but other than that it’s still a blast. SH3 has audio issues with a certain weapon but otherwise is fun.

If you weren’t alive and playing games at the height of survival horror (RE 1-3, Dino Crisis 1-2, Alone in the Dark, etc.) chances are you’ll find it slow and boring.

        • Dylan

When those came out I was still playing Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. Speaking of which, I bought both of those series of games in the last .99 cent sale.

Alone in the Dark is one I’ve been meaning to pick up on Steam. I’m a sucker for a good horror game.

          • Some Person

Alone in the Dark (200X) isn’t good… it’s not “bad” but frustrating as can be due to poor controls. Alone in the Dark 4 is decent but eh… 1-3 can be picked up on GOG for like $5 total.

          • Dylan

On your suggestion I picked up Dino Crisis 1-2, at 99 cents each I’ve got nothing to lose.

After finishing Among the Sleep and Outlast I could use another horror game to play. Need to finish Siren: Blood Curse as well. Looking forward to The Evil Within but haven’t preordered yet…

          • Some Person

Dino Crisis never was “horror” to me. They play like classic Resident Evil with fast moving dinos instead of zombies. Same type of puzzles, etc. DC1 was better than DC2. I still have never gotten a chance to play part 3.

          • Dylan

It’s fine. Needed something new to play anyway.

          • Some Person

Oh they are fun for the era… for a dollar it’s worth it. I bought it again a decade ago for PSX and probably paid $15-$20 each, heh.

        • Dylan

And you’re talking to a guy who plays a lot of point of click adventure games so slow pacing isn’t an issue.

        • Jason Bogle

I’m thinking about downloading the Silent Hill HD Collection, too. I’ve repeatedly heard it was broken, so I’m having serious second thoughts… bugs and glitches aside, are both games at least playable? I loved the original Resident Evil’s, Dino Crisis 1 & 2 and the original Silent Hill(still own it for PS1) and have been wanting to pick this up for sometime, seeings how I missed Silent Hill 2 & 3′s original releases.

          • Some Person

Completely playable. SH2 has bad fog… well it’s not bad it’s just not densely rendered so things that should be hard to see sometimes show up. SH3′s SMG (available only on NG+) has an audio glitch. I’ve put many hours–multiple playthroughs–into both and those are the only two issues I’ve ever seen.

SH2 also has the option to use a new vocal dub that does make that aspect of it much more enjoyable.

          • Jason Bogle

Thanks for the heads up, you probably just sold me on buying it. I was torn between Silent Hill HD and The Witcher 2, and honestly I’d rather get Silent Hill HD at a discount because of the issues it has as opposed to The Witcher 2, which I’d feel better buying at it’s standard price compared to Silent Hill, besides that, I have a strong feeling The Witcher will be on sale again in the coming months and this might be the last time to pick pick up Silent Hill at a discount.

So it look like I’m picking up The Walking Dead Season 2 Season Pass, Portal 2 and Silent Hill HD, solid choices I think.

          • Dylan

Bugs and glitches aside they are very playable.

Keep in mind it takes a little getting used to, because the camera is fixed in the environment, leading to awkward movements.

Absolutely worth playing and still playable. It’s writing was way ahead of it’s time. It’s use of abstract symbolism is unparalleled in gaming, and as far as I’m concerned, 2 hasn’t been even close to being matched in the horror genre.

          • pewtercafe

they are playable, but i understand that the problems go pretty deep. the main reason that I am avoiding the HD remake is that there are changes that alter the narrative and specific moments from the original. as a game that is all about the story and the atmosphere, i would not want anything changed.

    • Edward Davis

Dont do it. A lot of the bugs that plagued that release (like the fog density) were patched on playstation and NOT on the 360. Konami didn’t want my money so Konami cant have my money

  • Paris Vaunter

Walking Dead Season 2 Season Pass for $7.49!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do the Ultimate Sale haters have to say now?

    • Dylan

A steal. Season 2 is great, definitely recommend it to everyone.

    • Some Person

Edit: OP majorly edited that post…

    • Jared

      you beter get it now.

      • Professor Oak

He has until End of Day tomorrow…

    • Peter

Anyone know if there will be a hard copy season 2 walking dead coming? Or should I grab this pass now yeah thank ms for the beyond stupid disc space limit which is beyond words

      • Some Person

Walking Dead Season 2 and Wolf Among Us are both coming to disc… October for Wolf if I recall, not sure if there’s been a date set for Walking Dead Season 2

      • FiveMagic5

I would wait for TWAU to come to disc, but you should definitely get The Walking Dead 2 season pass now that it is on sale.

      • JustSaiyan

both seasons of walking dead and the first wolf among us season are coming to Xbox one on disc and 360 on disc sometime later this year. From the listings on gamestop both TWD seasons are Oct 14 and TWAU is Nov 18

  • Some Person

Painkiller — $5.99 and still not worth it
BioShock Infinite — $9.89, bought already one of the other many times it was on sale.
NASCAR ’14 – $20.99, to quote Maxy, “lol”
Modern Warfare 3 — $19.99, oh yay… another Call of Poopie game full of cheaters in the multiplayer. Just what I never wanted.

    • Jared

is this the last day sale for monday.

      • Some Person

Yes, Microsoft likes to go out on a whimper…

        • Jared

thx, for get these deal there joke.

      • Professor Oak

        yes

    • Professor Oak

huh… was hoping for more Capcom Games

      • Some Person

One more may pop up… I don’t think any other day only had 4 games but needless to say if there was a fifth it would most likely be bad.

    • Some guy

Why is painkiller not worth it? I know the demo is pretty broken but I assume they patched it by now?

      • Some Person

53 on Metacritic, horrible frame rate, low res textures, rancid AI… should I continue? :-P

        • Some guy

I don’t care about metacritic but the rest seem like trouble.
Shame there’s no real information on that game.

        • Sknots

I got the game on steam since its not available on my xbox live region, and i have to say its mindless brutal fun with badass soundtrack and its coop mode is hella fun

          • Some Person

The PC version is apparently quite good, it’s the console versions that are abysmal.

    • Dave Breadner

I love the world they live in where old COD’s are still $50 regular. A physical copy of MW3 costs $10.

  • Sigognac

So, if it is about to be the last day of the “Ultimate Sale”, what are your suggestions for the games that are still available ?

    • Some Person

Witcher 2, Skyrim, Dishonored, Silent Hill HD, (definitely) Deus Ex, Fallout 3/NV

      • Jared

And get the DLC For Skyrim

      • tru

Played Silent Hill for the first time again since the PS2 days. That game had me bored to tears.

        • Some Person

Haha, my nephew said the same thing. He took the plunge a week or two ago and is infuriated by the movement speed.

      • Sigognac

Thanks. It seems a very good selection. May I ask, if your choice would be in this order ? I heard Skyrim is huge in scope and freedom; is Witcher 2, as a RPG, more “accessible” or simple ?

        • Jared

          Get

          Darksiders II plz plz

          • Sigognac

Is it that good ? ;)

          • Some Person

It’s one of those love or hate games… I’m more in the “hate” category personally. :-P

        • Some Person

Witcher 2 is “accessible” on the easiest difficulty but an extreme challenge after that. The vanilla Skyrim will get you well over a hundred hours. I’ve not played Dishonored to completion (it’s short and I have a rule over how much I spend per hour of gameplay), Silent Hill 2 is one of my all time favorite games, Deus Ex Human Revolution is just phenomenal if you’re into dystopian cyberpunk, the two Fallout games aren’t as good as the Elder Scrolls games but still fun. They’re more FPS than RPG though.

          • Sigognac

So Witcher 2 and Deus Ex would be ahead. Your advices confort what were only intuitions. The Witcher would do an interesting medieval adventure and I will surely play Deus Ex for the science-fiction quality. It does a good balance.
(Maybe you will have helped others to choose here, too)
Thank you very much for the details.

          • Some Person

            Quite welcome mate.

    • pewtercafe

it really depends on what you’re into. if i’m going to recommend anything, trials evolution is one of my personal favorites.

and i agree with some person, except for silent hill. do not waste your money on this version of silent hill. there are many reasons, so do some research on it.

      • Sigognac

Thank you to answer. I think the question was interesting to ask for everyone, as a good suggestion add to the pleasure of discovery.
Personnally, while I think every genre worth a look, I tends to appreciate a game at first for its visual esthetic, clarity, pleasure to play.

        • Some Person

Definitely Deus Ex or Witcher 2 then… Deus Ex’s graphics are admittedly a little weak but the style makes up for it and the story is top notch.

Witcher 2 is probably the most beautiful game on the system.

          • Sigognac

Indeed. Your choice seem excellent. I believe it, after seeing some images from Witcher 2. Thanks.

    • Jose Medina

      Skyrim plus dlc
      Dishonored
      Portal 2
      Trials Evolution
      Ducktales
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
      Trials Fusion
      Fallout 3
      Fight Night Champion
      Deus Ex Human Revolution
      Gears of War 3
      Fallout New Vegas

      • Sigognac

Thank you. That selection would do an instant very good library.
May I ask, which ones would you suggest first ? If we would have to chose?

        • GamerResentment

          Deus Ex
          Portal 2
          Dishonored
          Witches 2
          Skyrim+dlc
          Fallout 3
          Then whatever else.

          • Sigognac

Thanks. It is really appreciated. The last day will be easier, now.
Hélas, if this space would not be too narrow, I am sure asking “why” would have made a very interresting conversation to develop. :) Thanks again.

          • GamerResentment

Deus ex is a breath of fresh air. It’s like a mix decent shooter and (on par with Blacklist) stealth with environments open like Dishonored. Lovely visuals and skills. Awesome take downs. Choices choices choices. One of my all time favorite games ever. Speaking of Deus Ex and Blacklist, once you hear Jensen and go through the game, you’ll never look at Kobin the same again.

Portal 2 is funny and very clever with it’s puzzles and allows you to bring a friend along with couch coop. You should start with the first though if you haven’t played it.

Dishonored can be a stealth game or hack first person hack and slash. Junk story but man there really are several routes to your objectives. AI isn’t as predictable as in most other games either.

Witcher 2 has a pretty good story and characters but the combat it hit or miss with it’s audience. You either like it and enjoy it, hate it but deal with it for the story, or hate it and don’t touch the thing. It should at least be given a shot.

Skyrim is just magnificent. Easy to get lost doing your own thing from doing the surplus of side quest that even include a talking dog, to just roaming around killing for fun. This is like a “lose yourself in your own adventure” kind of thing like Minecraft.

Fallout 3 is a decent game. Prefer it to New Vegas though it’s gameplay isn’t for everyone. It has a good mood going and if you played any other open world RPGs, you know what your in for, and also you don’t :)

          • Sigognac

Very interresting; I understand better. Thank you to have taken the time to explain what makes them singulars.
Now you raised my interest about each. Only the time tells me that playing all of them would be ambitious.

          • GamerResentment

Especially since they are all at least 15 hr games haha. And your welcome :)
Hope you enjoy them (whichever ones you choose).

        • Jose Medina

35 bucks full of 100s of hours of entertainment not including the skyrim dlc.

          Skyrim plus dlc
          Fallout 3
          Gears of War 3
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
          Deus Ex Human Revolution
          Fallout New Vegas

    • Jared

      Darksiders II Good Game

      • JustSaiyan

Is darksiders one recommended to have been played before the second?

        • Jared

not on sale but II It is yes right now get it now. you well naver see them again for that price.

          • JustSaiyan

Yeah I’m deciding between this and Witcher 2. I have money for other games but i want all the dlcs so that is why i don’t want FNV or Skyrim. I was wondering that if i have not played darksiders one should I?

          • Sigognac

Darksider and Witcher seems very different.
I have yet played neither of them, but if an opinion interests you, between both, I would choose Witcher 2. It seems more varied, colorful, and shows humans, while Darksider seems more dark, showing several kinds of demons in an horrific ambiance.
It is only a subjective opinion, but you could look at some gameplay videos to see and follow your taste.

          • Some Person

Oh God, you’ve The Witcher all wrong. It’s about as dark as it goes. Witcher’s are essentially bounty hunters for monsters in a world of racism and classism and at the bottom of all the classes are the witchers. They are despised by humanity for being mutants and don’t fit in with the elves. Dwarfs don’t much mind them… well not Geralt anyways. Humanity in the world of The Witcher is about as morally bankrupt as you can get.

          • Sigognac

Oh ! Thank you to precise.
That is why I say “it seems”: I did not played it yet and only saw a video that was not representative, after all. Thank you for rectifying the facts. But visually, is not it less “horrific” as an ambiance than Darksiders?

          • Some Person

Visually, I suppose… Darksiders is cartoon-like which I can’t find “horrific.” Witcher aesthetically looks like a medieval European-like country.

          • Some Person

If you know anyone with the collectors edition of either of those games you can install all the DLC, it’s DRM free.

    • dark

Darksiders 2, fallout 3, fallout NV, dishonoured, witcher 2, skyrim,

    • Paul Mount

is it really tomorrow the last day of the ultimate games sales?, sh!t… they didn´t put far-cry 3 on sale :/

    • dark

I just started playing witcher 2 today and I gotta say its very fun

  • deadbox102

How’s the quality of Pain Killer?

    Edit: never mind.

    • Some Person

      Rubbish

    • Some guy

      http://www.youtube(dot)com/watch?v=R1V2FStXU0w
That’s about the only review I know of, sounds fun but be aware that it’s the version of painkiller with the mort cut content, even the xbox original game has more content.
Of course you can alway get the 40$ worth of DLC to get most of the original content… or get the original PC version called Painkiller Black

      • Some Person

Painkiller Black Edition, now that was a fun game! $9.99 on GOG!

  • pewtercafe

I’m curious if Major Nelson sends any of these comments to the higher ups at Xbox. Although there are some great games scattered through this sale, overall it has been a massive disappointment. I’ve held onto a $25 card waiting for this sale, and yet there hasn’t been a single game that makes me excited to use it.

    • thesnyke

      Portal 2,Dishonored,Bastion
The telltale games are good but you probably don’t like em
Everything else (for the most part) is terrible/ it really depends on what you like

      • pewtercafe

yep, as I said, there are some gems. And I hope people who haven’t played them use this chance to do so.

for me, most of the games I am interested in are the ones I already own or have played through before.

  • jota

I’m only getting Dishonored and Bioshock infinite..
i can’t believe mw3 at $20 when you can get it by 10 at least

  • FiveMagic5

So I am considering Deus Ex, The Witcher, and Darksiders 2. Any opinions on these games or any other games you think I should get?

    • Sknots

      Darksiders 2 is beautiful

      • JustSaiyan

Should I play Darksiders 1 before 2? Is it recommended story wise?

        • Jared

          just get II much better.

          • JustSaiyan

            ok thanks.

          • Jared

Just wait the 1th Coms on Sale.

          • JustSaiyan

I hate to buy used but it is only $10 used at gamestop so i might just get it that way

    • Jared

      Darksiders 2 Darksiders 2

    • Jared

Deus Ex, The Witcher there all good games get them all of them.

    • Dylan

Deus Ex: Fantastic game. Can play it in so many different ways. Awesomely inspired by Blade Runner. Can’t miss if you like RPG’s.
      You definitely asked for this.

The Witcher 2: Another great RPG. Lot of great choices and characters. Act 3 is completely different depending on a certain choice. Good story and definitely worth playing as a prelude for Witcher 3.

      • Some Person

Act 2 & 3 are different… there’s actually an achievement for seeing all the ways it unfolds.

    • JustSaiyan

The Witcher 2 is fantastic. 10$ is a good price and it is very long. Deus Ex was great but I’m thinking I ll just get the Directors cut that has the 15$ dlc in it for 20$ and probably cheaper at some places.

      • Some Person

Honestly I heard the DC is kind of buggy so I avoided it. I love the franchise but if having The Missing Link as an independent episode makes it run better it’s worth it to me to keep it separate.

        • JustSaiyan

Oh i never knew that the DC was that buggy might have to change my mind. Thanks. I just prefer sometimes to get the complete/GOTY editions cause they are usually a lot cheaper. That’s why i don’t plan on getting Fallout NV in the sale. I can get it for 20 vs buying it now and its DLC for like 45$

          • Some Person

I actually picked up NV but I owned the GotY edition… now I just don’t need to worry about discs. :-P

          • JustSaiyan

            smart

          • Some Person

Tong’s mission gets integrated if you buy it as DLC. The Missing Link is 2-4 hours, good for a play-through but not mind-blowing and doesn’t really do much for the story. It takes place during a point in the story where the narrative literally fades to black and you wake up at another locale so you can quite literally wake up in the game, save, exit to the main menu, play Missing Link, then load up the save where you left off.

I almost bought a WiiU for the DC of Deus Ex. I’ve been a fan since Warren Spector and his team made the first one… Hell, I even liked the second one, haha.

      • GamerResentment

I don’t know if there was a patch but directors cut was buggy as hell on all platforms except wiiU. Get the original. It’s a super amazing game (minus boss battles) and you can easily forget the dlc for now. It’s not required but you can get it later if you like the game. It’s one of my favorites. Open levels like Dishonored with your choice of first person shooter or (better than) blacklist stealth, or a mix of both with flashy lethal and non lethal takedowns and a host of skills and abilities, plus when you mod it to have all of the skills from the get go, it doesn’t break the game, but really makes it fun.

        • thesnyke

Just finished the directors cut a couple of days ago and it didn’t have any bugs. Obviously though you could play it and have a different experience and it al be buggy.

          • GamerResentment

Maybe a patch then because it had a rocky release with tons of forums about bugs for the different versions. I haven’t personally played the DC but have had the special edition of the original since day 1.

  • Naraic

The more m$ continue with this kind of s**t the more im tempted to go ps4 instead of xb1. Seriously £20 for mw3 think ill just keep my money till dragonteeth comes out.

    • Sknots

Getting a ps4 only because this sale didnt include games that u like? Pffft

      • Naraic

No as I said the more m$ continues with this kind of s**t not based on one sale or one game I have picked up a couple of games over past week of sales but they’re continued over pricing of on demand games and weak offers is making me seriously consider returning to ps as I was before 360. Atleast I would get additional gameplay of my preferred games

        • Johnathan Surowietz

Why threaten to do it, and not just do it? We’re all a bunch of strangers and don’t care if you go to one console or another, nor does Microsoft.

          • Naraic

Hardly a threat mico$oft hardly likely to care about one customer switching to sony was just saying.

      • Johnathan Surowietz

I doubt it. People complain all the time, and make “Threats” because something doesnt go their way. Hes going to stay on Xbox, because his friends are on that.

        • Naraic

This is the first time I have ever complained on this and was only my second ever comment I dont have money problems though thanks for the life advice. At the end of the day like everyone else on here I spend plenty of money on xbox forgive me if I feel this also gives the right to have an opinion or to exercise free will.

    • AC130

Good choice thinking of doing the same but PC seems to have the most content game wise.

      • Naraic

Personally never been into pc gaming apart from football (soccer) management games

    • ryder4life22187

what does that have to do with anything. I still see MW2 going for $29.99 at a lot of retail stores.

      • Naraic

it was merely an example I could have picked several games over the past seven days as an example. And in the uk it can be purchased for £10. My comment was not solely in relation to mw3 but the overall sales of the past few months. And my comment about ps4 was again not just down to disappointing sales. Fs

        • ryder4life22187

I’d still get the PS4 though regardless. Love my PS4 as this time around the PS is my main source of gaming unlike xbox last gen

      • GamerResentment

New maybe but stop into gamestop in the u.s. And MW3 used is $6.99

        • ryder4life22187

I haven’t stepped into a gamestop since ghosts released at midnight. Never will step into another gamestop as there is no need to as id rather shop via internet/ or the retro stores around me.

          • GamerResentment

I have to bounce between. Try buying Endless frontier (DS title) on ebay, then check Gamestop. $20 gamestop, $60-$110 for the out of print game. Same for some Phoenix wright games. I go to GS only when they beat all options. I wish I knew of small game stores here in San Antonio :(

          • ryder4life22187

That sucks i hated dealing with GS. Try looking up Fallout Games or Play N Trade in your area

          • GamerResentment

Alright. Thanks for the heads up. I know GS has some bad rep with customer service. The one I go to is alright I guess. I’ll keep an eye out for those other stores. Thanks again! :)

      • BentleyTheBrain

I bought it at Gamestop two weeks ago for about 7 bucks

    • Johnathan Surowietz

Or how about you stop complaining? If you have an issue with money, the only solution is to get a job and get money. If a game is cheaper elsewhere, get it there, instead of complaining on here, and looking a little sad for doing so.

With that said, it is a bit overpriced for Mw3, but again, if its cheaper in store, go get it.

  • Jared

Do not get MGSGZ Plz for love of God do not get it is a one Hour gameplay what a joke.

    • Jay Rivera

One hour IF you only wanna play the main mission, you can easily get 10+ hours if you’re looking to 100% it.

      • Paris Vaunter

Plus it’s a super fun game!

        • Jay Rivera

Exactly, for as short as the main mission is, it’s definitely worth $10.

    • The Anonymous Doctor

For $10 I think it is definitely worth it.

    • Some Person

By one hour you mean ten minutes…

  • AC130

    So:
Painkiller Hell and Damnation 80% Off
    Bioshock Infinite 67% Off
    NASCAR 14 58% Off
    Modern Warfare 3 60% Off

    • Jared

one game to get if you do not have it Bioshock Infinite that is about it.

      • AC130

Will defo get it if it has a proper discount here in Aus.

      • IN_YO_FACE_86

Yeah I was really hoping they Bioshock Infinite season pass for sale well maybe next time:(

  • GamerResentment

Put Bayonetta on sale, get it some love please!
    Maybe EDF2025
    Resident Evil 5 dlc

    • Some Person

Sale is over, none of that made it.

      • GamerResentment

        :’(
Now if I +1 your comment, does that mean I like that the sale is over and they didn’t make it?

  • Jason Lafitte

its almost as bad as the red stripe deals on windows phone/windows 8, they rehash the same deals over and over, its bejeweled, sparten assault, or a rabbid game, over and over and over. its like they do everything possible to make windows phone 8 fail.

    • GamerResentment

I’m sad and annoyed that a lot if these were redo sales. Surprised to see DMC4 though. I have all the good games already from previous sales :(
      Was really hoping for Bayonetta.

      • Some Person

DMC4 has been on sale before too… several times.

  • LysanderM

I’m glad that I’ve missed the day 6. Where are the Kinect Games???

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

      in hell where they belong.

  • NarcoSleepy
