Microsoft Retail Stores Hosting Launch Events for Madden NFL 15 and Destiny

In the coming weeks, all 103 Microsoft Stores will be hosting a series of in-store events to celebrate the launches of Madden NFL 15 and Destiny.

To kick off the launch of the Xbox One Madden NFL 15 Bundle and the start of the football season, 60 Stores in U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico will be hosting tournaments for Madden NFL 15. Sign up for local challenges or watch the best in your area compete from Aug. 26 through Sept. 5. To find out more about tournaments check with your local store.

Additionally, on Sept. 6 all Microsoft Stores will host a Madden and NFL Kickoff Party just in time for the official opening weekend of football season. Attend the day long festivities, including hands-on gameplay, giveaways and a fun photo opp putting your face on the cover the game. The first 25 fans to pick up their copy of Madden NFL 15 this day will receive their very own NFL gift bag.

If you didn’t pre-order your limited edition Xbox One Madden NFL 15 Bundle, which includes a copy of Madden NFL 15, you can pick one up during one of these store events. You can also trade in your Xbox 360 or PS3 and receive $100 towards your purchase.

Then, to celebrate Destiny’s upcoming launch, Microsoft retail stores will begin the countdown to midnight launch with events starting at 10 p.m. on Sept. 8 with early gameplay access, giveaways, food, drink, and more. You’ll have a chance to get your hands on the game before picking up your copy. Additionallly, Microsoft Stores offer a $10 gift card for pre-orders of any game in the Store, including Destiny, or $10 on Xbox Live if you order on MicrosoftStore.com.

So does anyone know if we will be able preload Destiny?

    • Eric Webber

I would love that feature for destiny. How bout it major? Have you heard any news? Preloading is idea for games like Destiny.

  • josh

When will destiny digital pre order/ download be announced? Or will the new digital consumers not be supported in this new age of gaming?

  • Legion

Adds comment regarding preloading and preordering of Destiny.

Promises not to complain until 2015 afterwards.

Maybe I take it too seriously, but I personally don’t like to see a lot of the previews and trailers that come out closer to launch, since by then I already know I’m getting it and don’t need my $60 purchase to be spoiled at the last minute after waiting for years.

Due to this, the LAST thing I would want to see a midnight launch would be to see people playing the full retail game for a couple hours while I’m a captive audience waiting in line. With Destiny it’s not a big deal since the beta already showed us that, but for something like Halo 5? Hell no. I would avoid a place having that style of launch like the plague (unless Major was going to be there, then I would make an exception).

      Nice deals this time MS.

Still no clue why we would pay for a Gold subscription (if only there were the Fallout New Vegas DLCs on sale), but nice deals.

I preorder/preload Madden 15 Bundle the other day, and I love it.
Looking forward to see Microsoft bring Destiny to digital preorder as well.
Actually, bring all future releases to digital preorder and preload, thanks.

I’ve been gaming since 1985 and I have never been more bored then when I was playing the Destiny beta. that game is has no redeeming value to it what-so-ever.
