Game Description: In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age. The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside. You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised underground. Having never ventured beyond the city limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat. But will they even listen? Rather than stand united, the factions of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. Including the epic single-player campaigns of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, Metro Redux takes you on a journey from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of mankind.

Note: Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux are also available separately.

    Interesting…

  • Praytoseedeath

State of decay DLCs on sale as well :)

  • http://www.kevin-fell.co.uk/ Kevin Fell

It’s nice to see the games are also available as a digital bundle. Looking forward to this one. It’s not released until the 29th in the UK so I’ll have to wait a little longer.

    • Skode

Good point, bundles have been kind of rare on the marketplace thinking about it and some which have shown up have been for a limited time only for some bizarre reason. Regardless of that i hope we see more of these more often in the future.

  • omid karimzada

I wish I had an Xbox One so I could play all these awesome games. I have to wait till November until I finish HSC and year 12, so I can also do part time job and save up money for it. It’s surely going to take a long time :(

  • Andrew Upperton

I’d love to check pricing and availability in my region (UK) but none of the links work. They all lead to “Page Not Found”. Can’t find it in the Xbox Game Store either, any ideas?

    • http://www.kevin-fell.co.uk/ Kevin Fell

There was an official trailer released for this which said £16.99 on Xbox for each game. They screwed the pricing of these games up over the weekend and the listing has since disappeared from the UK marketplace. Let’s hope this remains the launch price.

      • Andrew Upperton

It was supposed to be £29.99 for a single disc containing both games. I was hoping for an e-copy for a similar price

        • http://www.kevin-fell.co.uk/ Kevin Fell

The physical copy is £30. This post refers to an unannounced ‘bundled’ version with both games for one price, just like the retail copy. I’d assume it’ll be cheaper than purchasing them both separately so it should be around that figure.

    • Beani

sitting in Europe and also the store entry was removed. this is making lots of europe fans very sad pandas :'(

      • http://www.kevin-fell.co.uk/ Kevin Fell

They were priced at £114.99 / $199.99 each before being removed, I guess it was removed because of this error. It’ll be back.

        • Gazmaster3D

Wolfenstein had a similar pricing error on the UK dash when it launched in the US.

    • Nick King

We have to wait until the end of the week…..

    • jorge xicohtencatl

also, you can buy it in the canadian store and the price is less

  • Peter

off topic but do my eyes deceive me finally shadow complex and nuts and bolts finally on sale?

    • Some guy

They are but I’m not buying anything until I know the next GWG.

      • Gazmaster3D

I highly doubt any games on sale this week will be GwG next month as that will be announced before the sale finishes. The month after next however is a different story and South Korea had Banjo on GwG months ago so its a possibility.

  • Herbert Waller

In US, Metro Redux is $49.49 as a combo (I got my digital copy of this one). Seperate, each game is $24.99 respectively.

  • Skode

Is this more Xbox 360 games being ported to the Xbox One? Not interested in that really but hey ho i will admit i DO however like that most if not all brand new releases show up on the digital marketplace in such a quick fashion… Xbox 360 took nearly a decade to get its head around simultaneous releases of retail and digital for games.

    • Nick Peck

Games have been out day one on digital since the XBO came out, it’s nothing new :D Unless you are new to the XBO of course.

These games were redone for next gen (both systems) and from what I have seen, it’s a pretty impressive upgrade. I’m grabbing them only because I never played them on the 360.

  • Gazmaster3D

I’ll probably get the second Metro to kill some time before Destiny takes over my life for a few months.

  • Earmack

Done! Finally game arrive, take bundle of cos. Thx again for digital versions….I hope u continue use this for all games + preorder and some benefits to digital versions compare retail;)

  • Colin McGregor

yay another game where the developers get to be lazy and just add a bit of polish to their old titles and resell. Gotta love next gen.

    • NarcoSleepy

I never played either of these titles on 360, so I appreciate this kind of thing. I get a polished version of the games for my One. Nobody is making you buy this.

      • Bubba Bullock Jr.

Same here. I also think it’s great that they are re-polishing some older console games, since the xbox one isn’t backwards compatible.

        • Massamo

thats why you keep your old consoles?

          • Bubba Bullock Jr.

You need a GameCube to add to that list.

          • Massamo

have old white wii it has gamecube support
im after a sega dreamcast right now

    • jtsuth

It’s quite a bit more than just adding ‘polish’ to the original games. You should at least research a bit before making assumptions.

      • Nick Peck

Nah, people don’t read up on things before commenting these days…

        • jtsuth

Ha that’s true. Most comments wouldn’t exist if the commenter did some research before commenting.

          • Nick Peck

            Pretty much :D

      • WryMouth

It’s almost a full overhaul remake plus new areas they unlocked inside the game.

    • evilfangs .

All textures / lighting as been brought up to PC standard. The AI as been made better. The first Metro has had improved features from the second moved over as well as changed what the monsters and your ally look like. Mission structure has been improved by creating new levels to connect existing levels together more fluidly.

That’s the improvements I know about after watching only a few videos, I’m sure even more improvements have happened.

  • Ian Williams

UK price it’s £25 for metro redux on Xbox one from Amazon. I’ll be going with the cheapest.

    • Nick King

Waiting for the digital price before I decide, it’s about £30 if bought from the Canadian Xbox Store so I’m expecting at least £35 in the UK :-(

      • Gazmaster3D

I’m sure I read it’s going to be £16.99 for each game individually or £29.99 for both together.

        • Nick King

It is so I got both.

      • Ian Williams

        Cheaper on Amazon.

  • LeoKurtz

Finally a AAA game that it´s cheaper on Brazil (R$39,00 each aprox. 17 USD)

I wasn´t planning to, but bought 2033 because it´s an awesome deal!!

  • ElektroDragon

Too bad about that 912p… another game I’ll be getting for the other system. But you do get 60FPS parity, so not all bad news.

    • Nick King

Will you be able to tell, probably not.

      • Jan Václavík

But he does know, because people told him on the internet. There is no way he could possibly enjoy the game now.

        • ElektroDragon

I would have found out eventually when I evaluated rental copies running side by side on my X1 and PS4, easy to tell when you can flip between consoles with a single button. The “people on the Internet” (actually Digital Foundry) just save me the hassle of having to do that kind of thing anymore.

          • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

It’s so unbelievably silly that you care about a difference between 912p and 1080p. So so so damn silly

          • ElektroDragon

Uh huh… people buy $500 video cards to eliminate “small” differences just like that in the PC world. Do you want a medal for not caring?

I am NOT going to stop calling it as I see it, since it can only encourage MS to not skimp out on the hardware with the next Xbox.

          • Nick Peck

Honestly to save you some time and money, just get rid of your Xbox so you don’t lose sleep over this sort of thing anymore. As you get older you are at a greater risk of having a heart attack. Fyi :p

          • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

You really just answered your own problem… if you care about something so miniscule and unimportant then you really shouldn’t be gaming on console.. go put 2 grand into a pc.

          • Riddick Snipes

Silly is it? How bout this. The reason 900p games look better than 720p games is around 520000 pixels. The reason 1080p games look better than 900p games is around 650000 pixels. His cause is just. There is a difference. It does of course matter whether a game really utilizes the whole 1080p native res … For example wolfenstein and many others have lots of areas in the game where textures are muddy and clearly not given fine detail found elsewhere in the same game. I have an Xbox one. I will probably get a ps4 down the line if they have any killer exclusives. It is upsetting this resolution thing and I do wish ms came outta the gate like Sony did at launch with equal resolution. I guess I’m just hoping for maybe a patch for developers that allows them to utilise power better. Basically If a game is labelled as 1080p native and there are low quality and muddy textures here and there…then its kinda not 1080p.If u upres ( not remaster ) a game to 1080p does that mean its running 1080p? I just really hope that 1080pdestiny on the x1 is as good as the ps4 1080p. And forza horizon 2. Pumped.

          • Briskmaster

“I would have found out eventually when I evaluated rental copies running side by side on my X1 and PS4.” I really hope that was a joke.

          • ElektroDragon

Absolutely not a joke. I want the best. If a game is better on X1, that’s where I get it too, so absolutely not a fanboy either. I just have no other hobbies except doing this sort of thing.

    • WryMouth

I’ll take 900 over frame drops on PS4.

      • ElektroDragon

False. Digital Foundry reports no such thing.

      • demfax

PS4 is 1080p 60 fps locked according to DF.

      • http://gamercards.exophase.com/xbox/user/UNSCleric UNSCleric

Don’t forget the laughable Sony controller.

  • Tim Ritter

As a digital only buyer I already have to watch my friends get the game at 40€ and early from stores that give them out pre release.
Now I have to wait even longer because it takes 3 days longer to get the downloads probably for 50€ in Europe :(

  • deadbox102

    Is this the permanent price?

  • deadbox102

Okay, I’m looking to purchase this, but I’m having an issue with my external hard drive. My console doesn’t want to copy games to it and when I’m able to get it to, it stops at 60% (madden) and 85% (FIFA). I’ve formatted it and tried it as a media drive with no problems. Any suggestions?

    • Nick Peck

How long have you had that external? Could be something wrong with it, hmmm.

      • deadbox102

This going to sound strang, but I’ve found a way around the problem. It’s a pain, but it works. I’m deleting the games from the internal hard drive and redownloading them to the external, but in order to keep the download from freezing resulting in the game having to be deleted and reinstalled, I have to keep a movie going in the disc drive.

        • Catalyst

That is strange. Sounds like the disk is getting stuck when it goes to sleep. Might want to invest in a new one if you can afford it.

          • deadbox102

Well that stinks. This one is only a couple months old.

  • http://haveahappyday.info/ The Hallster

when are they going to start making next gen games? i’ve got ps4 and xbone. so far, i am not that impressed. i mean, the games are alright. but, i want some wow factor with the prices of these systems. are we just going to be stuck with indies and last gen reduxes forever? seems like i should just sell everything and keep the 360. well, maybe i won’t take it that far. i thought using x86-64 architecture would make things easier. i want to see some stuff that we have never seen before. in other words, bring it on and quit playing around programmers. LOL x 25………….

    • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

Seriously? You are aware that from September to November there are like 15 – 20 AAA huge franchises releasing on Xbox one and ps4 aren’t you?

    • Nick Peck

You do know it usually takes a few years after a new systems launch to get games that are far and above of even the best launch games right? It’s been like this since forever and is nothing new, it takes time. I know these days everyone needs instant gratification, but sadly in the real world you have to wait.

Like Mitch said below, between now and march there are going to be a ton of top end AAA games coming out for both systems. Not to mention there are a bunch of great games already out. Again, you won’t see what the systems can really push out for a few years at least, but instead of waiting for that make sure to not miss all of the good stuff out now and coming out soon.

  • http://Www.mylifewithgaming.wordpress.com/ Mitchell Hall

Oh man this looks so damn good. I bought it today at futureshop but my friend and I spent the whole day playing diablo so I didn’t get a chance to check it out yet.. first thing tomorrow though I am for sure. Super excited. I really love that there’s 2000 gamer score for this as well. Each game got their own 1000gs

  • MURD3R HE WROTE

These games look amazing, but sadly I’m on the fence about them..Anyone recommend?

    • deadbox102

I’ll be getting them Friday. The 360 versions were awesome.

    • Shomberlon

one of my favourite games on the 360

  • Catalyst

Still need to beat these on 360 before I upgrade. Keep getting caught while sneaking and overrun without any ammo. Glad they decided to overhaul these games for next generation.

  • http://gamercards.exophase.com/xbox/user/UNSCleric UNSCleric

This is the non-“arcade” title I have bought on Day One since my four launch games last November. I rented and played through both games last generation right at launch and loved them, so I had to buy this one for my collection finally. Making my way through the first game now. Definitely worth $50.

  • http://www.kevin-fell.co.uk/ Kevin Fell

Disappointed this is not a midnight digital release. Neither of them can be found in the UK store atm.

  • Sandman83

When is this arriving in the New Zealand XBL store. the game has a physical release here, but not digitally?

  • Nick King

Amazed it only cost £29.99 for both games in the UK store, on par with the US/Canadian store for a change.

  • beardyman3218

For once a digital game thats cheaper than retail, this is how digital should be priced.
