  • Mark Capell-helm

yawn * turns over and goes back to sleep waiting for a real game *

    • GNARrow Minded

Be like Rumplestiltskin by the end…

  • evilfangs .

The hell, I get four “free” games this month and they all stink. Roll on next month when some real games come out and I don’t have to care about “free games”.

    • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

Super Time Force and Halo Reach do not stink. They’re both awesome.

      • GNARrow Minded

Youre taste in games is bland! Reach was just as bad as ODST.. and plus we already got Halo 3.. tired of them only pleasing the younger crowd!

        • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

Oh really? You can judge my taste in games based off of 2 games? Well done.
If you think ODST is bad, then wow.. ODST had one of the best campaigns in the Halo series. Why was it bad? I’ll wait.

          • Mike570

ODST was an insult to the franchise and the fans.

          • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

            Why? Because no competitive multiplayer?
I’ll admit, I was disappointed with ODST at first, but over time I learned to appreciate it. You can’t deny the campaign was great.

          • 4ShotFox

campaign wasn’t bad, if you mean the concept, but this freaking dark city thing was the worst thing in Halo history…

          • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

It was something different from the typical Halo world. The open hub world was awesome.
But I guess you can’t please everyone..
Halo does something different, people complain. Halo stays the same, people complain.

          • 4ShotFox

agreed, liked the open world aspect, didn’t like the dark :P

          • Bennijin

            Turn the brightness up?

          • Komrad

I loved and still love Halo Reach, and I wish that ODST never existed. I forced my self to play through ODST just to be completionist. All of the other Halo’s were a blast to play.

          • teethintored

I thought Reach and ODST were the best Halo campaigns.

  • Guest

This sucks, since i made the transition and got rid of my 360 for this new fangled Xbox One ive missed out on the likes of Halo Reach and Destiny for free… whilst twice getting offered the same game for two months running backed up with an alternatives in Super Time Force and Guacamelee which both look like they could have been made for the Atari!

Ach well, you get what you paid for i guess but damn was i stupid for jumping aboard the Xbox One train so early…

    • Gazmaster3D

      Destiny for free????

      • Guest

My bad… i was meaning reach lol

        • Gazmaster3D

          lol I though i missed a trick.

    • Josh Cable

Destiny was never free, and it’s not out yet.

    • Peter

Another ghetto example selling a previous console expecting the next gen to quickly catch up. What was the point in doing that? 360 had a huge library. What were you thinking realistically? Cant understand such shortsighted behavior

    • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

You should never sell your consoles.
I sold my PS3 a while back, but now I regret it tremendously. It’s not worth it.

    • Andrew Geczy

Yeah, why the hell would you get rid of your Xbox 360 when there’s still amazing games coming out for it…

    • http://summified.com/ Ry L

Why’d you get rid of the 360? Why not have both?

  • Skode

You know something im half asleep from night shift… gonna walk away from my keyboard now because i cant type what im thinking without it coming out as gibberish lol

  • Étienne-A Beauregard

So cool they gave us too new games for One ! (sarcasm spotted)

    • ImTheMetalLord

They have always said you get at least 1 free game every month on the X1 and at least 2 free games every month on the 360.

      • Mike570

Actually they just recently said that. I wish they would have said it before I wasted so much money on the Xbox One. Meanwhile, Sony is offering 5 free games every month, none of them recycled.

        • Professor Oak

          6… 2 for PS3, 2 for PS4, and 2 for PS Vita

          • Peter

Actually more sometimes if you count crossbuy . Also this month its 3 for ps3 4 for vita counting crossbuy. I actually counted 9 for those 3 sony platforms for september.
Ms is offering 4 total for their 2 systems and 1 is a repeat so shouldnt count

So yeah 3 vs. 9 does show a disproportion

            Just sayin

          • Professor Oak

No, I don’t count crossbuy, why? It is the same game. Whatever you PS Ponies have to tell yourself to make you fell superior

        • Gazmaster3D

They said it when it was initially announced it was 1 xbo game.

          • Mike570

Even if that’s the case, it’s a bad decision. How can you hope to compete offering just half of what your competition is offering?

      • Étienne-A Beauregard

        I don’t recall that…

  • Sadistik Bob

Are we ever going to get good games? Seems like Ps4 gets better free games on average. I’m sure that fact doesn’t help sell more XB1′s

    • Peter

Bit more pissed with all the recycling of games to stretch their monthly offerings in a pathetic attempt to match sonys bigger offerings. Offering the same thing again in a row for free looks pretty pathetic . Look 2 free x1 games this month! Awesome! Wait a sec one of those games is the SAME game offered last month! That looks extremely pathetic

    • Mike570

They don’t seem to understand that by being cheap now, they’re guaranteeing PS4 sales. I get the alarming feeling like they’ve given up.

    • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

Are you serious? Have you looked at the PS4′s free games this month? lol
Velocity X and Sports Friends are pretty much equal to Super Time Force and Crimson Dragon.

      • Sadistik Bob

Yes, this month may be some what comparable but for the most part Ps4 has gotten better games than XB1. I’ve been loyal to Xbox for over 11 yrs now. Not trying to bash Microsoft but i would appreciate better games. I honestly loved Max and the Curse of Brotherhood and Guacamelee but they were both pretty short.

        • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

From June (When Xbox One started to get free games)
Xbox One: Halo Spartan Assault, Max The Curse of The Brotherhood, Guacamelee, Crimson Dragon, Strike Suit Zero, and Super Time Force.
PS4: Pixel Junk Shooter, Trine 2, Doki Doki Universe, Strider, Towerfall Ascension, Fez, Road Not Taken, Velocity X, and Sports Friends.
Yeah, they got 3 more games than Xbox One users, but it’s not like they’re much better or better at all. They’re pretty much comparable.

          • Car

Well the PS4 has had two gree games/month since it launched. Then xbox comes in at June and offers free games but they could have at least made up for the months they missed. Instead they are repeating games.

          • Gazmaster3D

I know people who jumped ship to the PS4 because of PS+ and now they are complaining about the crappy indie games they get. Thanks for posting this list, it shows both next gen consoles cant offer AAA games and to expect it is just plain silly.

          • ryder4life22187

why compare it from June when we should be comparing it since Nov. Shouldn’t be at fault MS didn’t want to give the games at that time.

  • Daniel Garcia

    Racing games…please!!!!!!!!!!

    • Andres Leal

      Im saying that like always.

    • andresfgp13

      yeah,a nfs will be great.

  • CDMAss

Crimson Dragon? That ugly game again?

  • Darkharmony

I’m all for free but Crimson Dragon repeat give me a break. Kind of a shame, they seemed to be improving for a while with GWG but now we’ve got a 3rd halo and a whole bunch of no name titles that few care about. I’ll download them, and thank you but really I feel like we’re getting garbage this month.

  • Peter

Cough cough 3 games + a cheat inclusion vs 9 free games total for ps3, ps4, vita

Trying to play catchup but doing it poorly. Serious a dupe game yet again?

    • Professor Oak

Cross buy really doesn’t count, seeing it is the same game, but whatever makes you PS ponys feel superior.

      • Bennijin

And Vita like wow who cares.

    • James M. Cornett

See my response to the guest above for my opinion. There’s a reason I keep ditching the PS3 system for my X360.

  • Some guy

I’m really lucky I never bought any halo game because of local co-op but I guess those who bought halo for on the halo box 360 are mad right now.
Super Time Force looks like your usual indie garbage with a tweast, same for monaco.
That said I heard good stuff about them and it’s free… I’ll just wait to complain.

    • teethintored

      What?

  • ambuckle

It’s a shame Crimson Dragon is dominating the conversation. Super Time Force has 81 on metacritic and I was expecting Zombie Driver and LocoCycle. It certainly could have been worse.

    • Peter

Weird how lococycle dropped off the market. Anyone know why that is?

And yeah lococycle and zombie driver smell of future gwg agreed.

I seriously never expected time and max to hit gwg so soon after release. Makes me kinda leery now to buy nice looking indies like those so soon after release

  • ƦeνoƖυtioɳ(=´ω`=)

Good selection, kinda disappointed with with giving crimson dragon another month, but still overall good picks.

  • PK

Another joke of a month after the promise of Dishonored this month. The free games on PSN simply BLOW AWAY those offered on XBL. I feel like PSN offers free meals while XBL offers table scraps of spoiled food.

    • OldSocialist

Subjective. Looking at the PS+ games for next month I can’t see one I want to try, whereas I already downloaded Crimson Dragon this month (it was OK, but not for me), will be trying Super Time Force on the recommendation of a friend, and am really pleased about Halo Reach, which I never got round to buying.

  • plnkfloydian

I bought reach awhile ago just recently completed the campaign. Soon after i felt bored of halo and wasnt as excited for Destiny just sharing my experience. Be careful my friends :)

  • Austacker

Thanks for Super Time Force! I haven’t played this one yet and looking forward to the free download.

The other two 360 games I’ll download on my elite for a rainy day.

With Diablo 3 RoS running hot on my X1 right now and Destiny just around the corner, I seriously don’t know where I’ll get the chance to play these games… but I appreciate the downloads anyway!

  • Guest

Yay another carry over. Sorry, but Microsoft still gives you way less for your money then Sony does.

    • http://www.jpitta.com/ PittaMan

Except for the part where Xbox supports their systems with an online infrastructure thats worth paying for in spite of moderate free game releases.

    • James M. Cornett

Except when you have no internet service and all your Sony games don’t work anymore because, spoilers, they relied on the Playstation Plus online service to remain active. Dude, I’ll gladly take a game I own without restrictions from Microsoft over what is essentially a rental service any day of the year.

That being said, I already own Halo Reach, and Monaco isn’t exactly looking like something I’d personally pick up, so I think I’m gonna pass this time around, but considering I just picked up three games on the Binge sale that I’ve been wanting to play for some time, I can’t really complain. I’m beginning to think Microsoft’s losing out on some pretty awesome marketing ideas, what with Borderlands the Pre-Sequel (BL2), Dragon Age: Inquisition (DA:O), and GoD:AW (MW or BO2) releasing before the end of the year. If I were the person in charge of GWG, I’d start taking advantage of some of these releases and plan the program around that. That’s one area Sony HAS been able to take advantage of with their program, and I’d like to see Microsoft make more of an effort toward that.

    • jordan jones

super time force is still better than the two games combined they put on ps4 and 360 games are better than the free ones for ps3

  • DapperDingo

Baught Super TIme Force when it came out. In my opinion it is the best X1 free game they have released so far. Excellent pick up.

    • ImTheMetalLord

Better than Max? Wow…that must be great then.

      • http://www.jpitta.com/ PittaMan

Yeah – its better than Max.

  • kriegir

Crimson dragon again…sometimes I do not enjoy being a Xbox fanboy.

    • Tower Mac

Puhleeeeze!!! If you were REALLY a fan boy of any sort then you wouldn’t be making pathetic comments like that. I got all the big AAA games on X1, 360 & PS4. Now that’s a (console) fan boy.
Not a good GWG month doesn’t bother me in the slightest, you complainers about free games MAKE me SICK.

      • plnkfloydian

…and the horse you rode in on

        • Tower Mac

Care to to tell me what your problem is with my comment?.

          • Richenbaum

better tell him quick before he internet-beats-you-up

      • kriegir

        Shaddap tool

    • ostrich

      lol at least you’re honest

  • Karabo Cyprian Vilakazi

    How disappointing.

  • Andy

Why is the majority of people on here complaining about free games? Don’t like the selection? Get a job and buy the games you do want..

    • Some guy

      “Free” games while buying GOLD.

      • GamerResentment

Free games that weren’t a thing when the only reason you bought gold was for online services and multiplayer.

        • Some guy

At first I didn’t buy gold because paying for p2p online play is stupid. Then I bought gold for the deal of the week. Then I stopped when they became garbage. Then I bought gold when they put free games. Then I stopped because they were just insulting 5 years old games or games that were on sale 2 weeks before. Now I bought it back for 40$ because the free games are stuff I don’t own.

          • Tower Mac

Get your money up, if you can’t afford your hobby, stay away from consoles or just don’t complain about free games.

          • Some guy

I can afford everything I want but unlike you I don’t think throwing my money out the window just because I can is a good idea.

    • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

      It’s really sad, isn’t it?

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

yeah, too bad some countries have freedom of speech huh?

  • Bennijin

Super TIME Force: In development hell for ages and now the PC’s got the “Ultra” version so I was never going to buy it. I’ll take it for free, but what is it with Xbox downloadables being basically beta tests for “fuller” releases on other systems?

Crimson Dragon: Stop repeating games. Anyone who wanted it this month got it this month.

Monaco: “Waaah my game sold the least on XBLA waaah” yeah because it’s not very good.

Reach: Well this should get more people playing. It would be nice if this prompted 343 to pull their fingers out and update the game. If just one person in a lobby doesn’t have the DLC maps then they’ll never show making them worthless. Halo 4 has the same problem. At least Halo 3 had playlists where DLC was mandatory.
Anyway, Reach gets regarded as the ginger stepchild of Bungie’s Halo games but it certainly should be played.

tl;dr version: Okay meh meh alright.

    • GamerResentment

Making dlc required to play multiplayer is bullsh**. They should just do what COD does and if you have the dlc, either have dlc only lobbies or incorporate the dlc in the map selection when applicable.

      • Bennijin

That’s what I’m getting at. Halo Reach and Halo 4 lack DLC playlists. Halo 3 had playlists where you needed it and some where you didn’t. I believe Halo 2 did too.

        • GamerResentment

Halo 3 only has like 3 things you can do without dlc. You practically have to download it to play online. But yes I see where your coming from.

  • IN_YO_FACE_86

Still waiting for Defiance to go free.lol

    • Brian Eyekon Koehler

It got delayed on PS3 and Xbox 360.

      • IN_YO_FACE_86

        That still bums me out.

      • Matt Reptar

Actually, it’s since gone free for PS3 but has yet to for 360.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

really? it like $5 on ebay for a new copy. you’re just kidding right?

      • IN_YO_FACE_86

Nope I’m not kidding my 360 disc drive stop reading games so I only play downloaded games now.lol

      • Professor Oak

It was confirmed to go Free to play, it isn’t yet though

        • Zack Grutza

that must of been for the PC man..sorry to say but the xbox version was free to play from the beginning

          • Professor Oak

I don’t think you Understand, it is supposed to go Free to Download on 360

  • Yaow

Nothing will make the people who comment here happy.

If MS isn’t offering a game I would like, I just say “oh well” and move on.

It’s like people are having their entire month ruined bc they don’t get the games they want. Maybe find something else to do? If it upsets you this much, maybe you’re spending too much time with your xbox.

Also, it gives me a chance to chip away SLOWLY at my backlog. Damn my completionist ways…..

    • Some guy

We’re clearly spending more time here then on xbox, but yea I agree, having no games allowed me to work on my backlog, this is what a console is for anyway, not playing games.

    • Tower Mac

“It’s like people are having their entire month ruined bc they don’t get the games they want”…..
I hear you bro..it is disgusting the way these GWG complainers are acting. Is it Microsoft’s fault that certain gamers are too broke to afford their hobby?
There’s plenty of lovely games to play to be bothered with what GWG are offering.
DR3, Ryse, Tomb Raider, Forza 5, BF4, Diablo 3, Outlast, UFC, Fifa 14, NBA 2k14, Watch Dogs, Metro Redux, Titanfall, AC IV, NFL 15, Trials Fusion, Plants vs Zombies…. in 2 wks we got Destiny…2 more weeks or so we got Fifa 15 & Forza Horizon 2. I ain’t even gonna mention the other big guns that are soon releasing.
Can’t afford the beautiful next gen games? Or even cheaper 360 games? Oh well, my heart bleeds for ya.

  • ImTheMetalLord

Suggestion to those planning on getting Monoco on the 1st. Download the demo today and then when it goes free “buy it” and you won’t have to wait for it to download to play. Won’t work with Halo Reach because demo’s for AAA titles are different then those for arcade games.

    • m1nh0ca

Yeah, I always make like this :-)

  • Enigma777

So Crimson Dragon for another month, eh?

Would love to see some proper games instead like Ryse or DR3…

    • Skode

It would take a mighty cheque from microsoft to convince Capcom and Cyrtek its a great idea to give those two away for free for an entire month, especially as they are both struggling financially.

Tell you something though when they start giving those bad boys and the likes away for free with GwG i can imagine them really having an easier time shifting consoles and getting more people to go Gold instead of Silver.

      • indrct

You don’t understand how GWG works.

        • freekface

It works like this, at this time Sony and MS have chosen to both take this route.
Until one of them decides to make the first move and offer non indie games then it will continue for a while longer.

        • Skode

          enlighten me

  • random2win

Lol i knew it, bad games are bad.

  • Brian Bradford

Well this is kind of lame….

    • CoD Master

I never thought I would hear any good comment from you, ps pony.

      • Brian Bradford

Umm wtf are you talking about? I dont even know who you are.

Also ps pony? Whats that some secret code bronies use to find other bronies or something?

        • CoD Master

I was reading your comments and you simply bit** you have no positive comments.

          • Brian Bradford

So you’re stalking me? I comment on a wide range of things with disquss, most things you most likely aren’t even informed about to be able to make the judgment of if i’m “bitching” or debating something.

I don’t quite get why you want to stalk me though, I’m not a bronie dude move on and find somebody else to talk about bronie stuff with.

          • CoD Master

Stalking, hell no! Im not stalking you dude.

          • Brian Bradford

I don’t much see how you “were reading my comments” unless you’ve been stalking me?

          • CoD Master

If you click the profile, you can see anybody’s comments.

  • http://haveahappyday.info/ The Hallster

time to break out the old atari 2600 i guess. probably be better than these indies they keep “giving” us…..

    • Dave Breadner

Monaco kicks Atari 2600′s Pacmans’ butt!

  • Christian Dixon

Crimson Dragon two months in a row? Lame.

  • Digiadam

    Very disappointing.

  • ImTheMetalLord

I grew up with sayings like “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” and “Hope for the best but prepare for the worst” and “There’s no such thing as a free lunch” and “You can’t always get what you want” and “Beggars can’t be choosers” and “Too many cooks spoil the broth” and “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you” and “One man’s trash is another mans treasure” and “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and “Good things come to those that wait” and finally “The grass is always greener on the other side of the hill”.

All of which I feel have a place here in one form or another. I think because this is instilled in some people they live their lives with this encoded into them while others never really got this encoding at a young age. Due to this I’m amazed so many people like to “Live by the sword and thus die by the sword”

    • kriegir

Idk wtf your point is but I like it

      • ImTheMetalLord

        “No man is an island”

    • Hank Hill

“Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”

There is no need to look it in the mouth, might want to check the back side though, I think these games came from that end.

      • ImTheMetalLord

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”

        • Hank Hill

So I should give Microsoft some poo?

          • ImTheMetalLord

            “Fortune favors the bold.”

          • Hank Hill

“No dog ever peed on a moving car.”

            Dr.Phil

          • ImTheMetalLord

“The squeaky wheel gets the grease.”

          • Hank Hill

“Fat people are harder to kidnap”

          • ImTheMetalLord

“When the going gets tough the tough get going”

            Meaning I’m done…been fun. LATER

      • freekface

Just be grateful, they are undoubtedly Better than Sony’s PS+ offerings yet again. Take a look at their releases for the same month they are terrible.

  • teethintored

I’m happy with the free games on 360. I was waiting on Monaco to go on sale and I was wanting to play Reach again. Danke!

  • NeoMahi

Why not port Crimson Dragon back onto the Xbox 360. I have an Xbox 360 but I don’t want a Xbox One.

    • ImTheMetalLord

I like that idea. Although I had heard the game isn’t very good anyways.

      • MURD3R HE WROTE

I actually really liked crimson dragon, very fun game. I’m not a fighter type of person so killer instinct doesn’t appeal to me, but a lot like it.

    • m1nh0ca

Samw situation here… I’m not up to XOne, got a PS4 and keep my X360.

People say that Crimson Dragon is not that good.
However, if they released Killer Instinct 1 and 2 for X360, I’d buy both.

I’m going to bet that Halo reach “game region does not match this console” bs just like Dishonored and Dark Souls.

    • stxnzy

Sucks for you. Not Xbox’s fault..

  • Cryptah

Crimson Dragon AGAIN ??? So Microsoft dont gives two games per month. Only one! Stop givin one game for two months, stop givin already released games like a Gold, everyone have allready purchased! This is not fair.

    • Skode

If the small print says one game a month for the Xbox One then we have to just kinda accept it whether we like it or not. I guess given the choice i would rather they do this than JUST the one game a month because it means newer fans do get two free games but yeah i get where your coming from.

360 free games have been awesome so far lately… i guess they have that side of things bang on at least.

    • Daniel Mystical-Knight Hall

Think about it though, X1 doesn’t exactly have a massive catalog of game’s just yet (somewhere in the region of 100 I think) if you don’t include the self published ID@Xbox title’s, Whereas 360 on the other hand has 100′s if not 1000′s of game’s in it’s catalog. I’m sure once X1 gets a few more game’s behind it your choice will get drastically better than the 360 games.

      • indrct

Games easily made available for XBox One GWG

Ryze (Old and badly received, sounds like a GWG game)
        BF4 (Hardline out soon)
        CoD Ghost (AW out soon)
Dead Rising 3 (PC release coming Sept, great reason to do GWG)
Halo Spartan Assault (Fits with Reach on 360)

I don’t think you understand what you’re talking about at all.

        • Professor Oak

Spartan Assault was Already Free on Xbox One. Also, Doubt Battlefield 4 would ever Be GwG as it is in the EA Vault thing. CoD? Please, they make too much money off it to even consider becoming a GwG

        • coip

          Ryse = still selling well
BF4 = no way any EA games will go GwG now that EA Access exists
CoD Ghosts = still selling well
Dead Rising 3 = still selling well
Halo: Spartan Assault = already was a GwG on X1.

      • ImTheMetalLord

360 has 1241 games available to give away
One has around 70 games available to give away

Besides they have always said that with your Gold Subscription you will get at least 1 free Xbox One game every month and at least 2 free Xbox 360 games every month.

  • m1nh0ca

That’s nice I’ve never bought Halo Reach.
I heard that Monaco is a good game… so, I’m OK with those games.

I’m not getting a XOne anyway, so I don’t have any position.

  • Sneltje

Hmmmm,….would be nice if games with gold would offer you to choose two of a selection of four games every month. Cause certain games are not my genre, and I bet there are more people/gamers/GOLD members thinking the same. Have an option to select at the beginning of every month. And make sure the games vary in genre.
    Please consider it.

    • Daniel Mystical-Knight Hall

I deffinately agree with you there, Although the above games are very good and I have played neither of them a choice at the start of the month or 2 or 3 days before the end of the month would be nice. 1 game from each major genre, Shooter, RPG, Strategy, Simulation, Racing etc. etc.

      • Sneltje

Or somthing like that would be ok. Just four games as option and you can only select 2 out of the four each month. Fair enough I think, let the choice be at the gamers end.

  • Komrad

Nothing for me this month, but the Halo Reach download will let me sell my physical copy and play it without having to put the disk in. So, I will make some cash and get some convenience.

If you don’t like these games, look at the bright side. Not playing games gives you more time to study, learn new skills, and work more hours , resulting In you making more money and being able to buy the games that you do want.

  • TNArulezWWE

I dont mind super time force is on septembers xbox one release if games for gold but not happy with crimson dragon bein kept on as im sure theres millions with the same view on that. There is already next to nothing that grips me to keep playing it until releases such as the division, unity, the crew, destiny, dead island, dragon age, battlefield, to me those are the ones thatll grip me and get me playing for hours. Ive got fourteen titles on xbox one and for me not one of these has managed to make me want to stay at the console for hours on end, and im sure many would agree.

So itd be nice if MS didnt pull stunts like this when there is little to nothing that isnt brain washing us into stayin at the tv screen for time bein and at least give us two new games on games for gold every month rather than give us titles that arnt doin so well anymore or have finished making a name for itself, the xbox community deserves more than that for there loyalty..

    • Reece Hunt

If they keep this up then there’s going to be a lot of smiling faces at Sony, which are the far better company in the past 4 years. I probably should have gone with PS4 instead.

  • CoD Master

Does Halo:Reach have lots of players playing on multiplayer? :)

    • Matt

Yep! It’s bigger than Halo 4, if I remember right. Solid gameplay– Bungie did well with their last installment of the series. It’s no Halo 3, but it’s good.

      • CoD Master

It’s okay, thanks for your review. I did not played Halo 3 though just like I said.

        • PlayerThree

Halo 3 and Halo: Reach both have higher populations than Halo 4. Halo: Reach’s most significant improvement is the upgrades to the Forge mode that made it more accessible.

The one thing I’d really like to take a moment to complain about is the Armor Lock in Halo: Reach. It’s kind of a killjoy how it stops plasma grenades (1 second to detonate), sword kills, vehicle blasts, vehicle splatters, and counters melees.

  • CoD Master

When I saw for the first time the GWG for this month, I overreacted about Halo:Reach. Its a freaking nice game judging by the gameplay I had on its Demo. And Im excited about it, because its my first Halo on my Xbox Console and one final question: Do I need to play the older installments to understand the story??

    • Ekeroves

nope, you don’t play as master chief and the story is a prequel to the events of halo 1-4, i believe

      • CoD Master

        Oh okay,thanks.

  • BillyHoWCR

Reach was my favorite Halo title. (Own all of them.)

Some people hated how the multiplayer was upgraded but I feel it is still the best multiplayer of the Halo games.

I can now have my kids playing it in both rooms of the house and have a the entire house playing each other.

And for those that are upset about their choices this month… does it really matter that much… Isn’t Destiny going to keep everyone busy anyways? :D

    • Steven Yarbrough

So true about Destiny. September’s free games will mostly be “swept under the rug” hahaha

      • Knots

        I like your picture.

    • Miguel Lizarraga

      Destiny? Storm Revolution pls

      • Vaultboy109

Haha yea naruto is gonna be awesome

  • Cactus19

I’m sure most will consider this a complaint, but why Halo Reach? I know not everyone has played it, but I’m sure a majority that wanted has already done so.

My point being, I think MS should look into games that were well rated but not as popular. There are some stellar games I’ve gotten for free that I had either never heard of or never thought to play. Again, I know that some haven’t played Reach, but that’s a major title that a lot played.

Monaco seems cool and I plan to give it a shot having never heard of it before.

    • Josh Melton

Halo Reach offers great value why complain?

      • Miguel Lizarraga

Too bad no one will be able to play in DLC maps if it not in private sessions

    • Knots

Well they also released Assassin’s Creed II, Saints Row 2, and Halo 3.

      • Professor Oak

For free games? I think you mean Saints Row 3, not 2

      • Professor Oak

For free games? I think you mean Saints Row 3, not 2

  • DaMan0320

Crimson Dragon? Wow, I game you already gave me for free…..awesome. Hopefully I we get Strike Suit Zero again for free. I’m sorry that’s one game for next month. Just put your only getting one game free next month. Why pretend like your giving us something when it’s the same thing immediately after you already released it for free. Being an early adopter sucks. You get barely any games, and less console features than previous generation, then they brag that they added previous features back in to new console.

    • ImTheMetalLord

Take straight from the top of this post: “. Crimson Dragon will continue to be available for Xbox Live Gold members as a free download for Xbox One.” how’s that pretending?

  • MURD3R HE WROTE

Decent month of games for anyone that doesn’t already have them.

  • IN_YO_FACE_86

Anyone else having problems singing into Live?

  • stxnzy

Blegh, I guess I’ll just pick these up for the sake of them being free..

  • jesse

wow are you guys trying to drive us over to the PS4 so many good games and you give us the worst ones…nice.

    • coip

Wrong. Super Time Force is the best game of 2014. Not the best indie game. Not the best Xbox game. The best game. You should be thankful that Microsoft is giving you this brilliant, Xbox exclusive. Geezus.

      • ryan6292

surely you should wait until all the games of 2014 have came out before claiming that one is the best.

        • coip

Clearly I meant “so far in 2014″. Geezuz. By the time 2014 is done Project Spark will be the best game of the year. Obviously.

          • ryan6292

my bet is on either sunset overdrive or halo: mc collection

          • Reece Hunt

You probably should of put “so far” then. Just saying.

          • coip

That would’ve been completely superfluous because it is implicitly clear that I’m talking about “so far” because it would be impossible to judge any games that aren’t out yet.

      • Edward Woodward

No, that is your opinion. Not a fact. It is not the best game of 2014 at all. Personally, so far this year Pants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare has been the best game for me.

        • coip

It’s not necessary to reply to people pointing out that their opinion is an opinion. Everyone already knows this. Having said that, it is a fact that Super Time Force is the best game of 2014.

    • Shomberlon

Right, so you’d go over to the PS4 purely on the basis of what you perceive to be better ‘free’ games?

    • gamer04

to be fair PS+ games this month aren’t amazing, just a bit better.

  • Knots

Oh, I want to get Monaco.
