It's slow because everyone is accessing the servers to download it. But yeah flipdezz is right it's better than no downloads.

I'm downloading at 280kB/s, it has always been that speed for me, even if my connection can support up to 600kB/s.
I think the last maintenance added some new servers, because before I couldn't download at that speed when there was a new release.
