WHAT?

Please don't let back-compat die!

I really don't want my xbox out in my room along with my 360

I don't see what the fuss is about - This is a new games console - stop devoting time to back compat - If you want to play your OLD Xbox games , play them on the console they were designed for and don't winge about them not being  Xbox360 compatible.

Xbox 360 for xbox 360 games with the halo 2 on the side sometimes. There are only a handful of people that want to play xbox 1 games on their xbox 360. I'm with Peter Moore on this one. For a sec I though the title read Dash Update. I guess its that humor that Major has.

Backwards compatability was a non-issue for me. I bought the 360 for the future not the past.

Reasons why BackComp is useful:  Old Xbox takes up space damn it, new Xbox games are being made, some people have their old Xboxes traded in and want to make use of the new system, Xbox 360's emulator makes the older games run BETTER (proven).

Reasons why BackComp isn't useful:  You suddenly become a lot like Sony, with their unparalleled devotion to Backwards Compatibility, and we wouldn't want that now would we?  Those super-powers at Sony, who'd want to be THOSE?

Fact: Backwards Compatibility sells, meatbags.
(That fact alone is a great example)

Wow. Peter Moore is making a huge mistake from where I stand. I am a gamer... so are my kids. The promise was made "Our goal is to have every Xbox game work on Xbox 360"... I know that it is a goal, but to say that  "I like to think we've upheld our end of the bargain in making at least two or maybe three hundred games backwards compat" is a stretch. I want to be able to decommission my XBox console at some point. I know that when I get a PS3 (when ever it comes out), that I can take my old one out and not have to worry about a list of games that will/will not work on it. Peter should not be making statements like that and not expect the gamer community have a big backlash. I read the official PR site, and I am glad to see at least the Back Compat team is still working on this, but when a big wig like Peter makes statements like that, and since it is people like him who get to make the decisions when it comes to $$ spent on projects, I am very disappointed. Your not even into it a year and MS is already speaking like they are going to break their promise to their customers.

See im confused now, if Peter Moore made a statement on BC not being important is that official? or UN-offical? Then the PR site www.gamerscoreblog.com says its still in the works... Where is the complete reasurance?

Many people bought a 360 having been given the impression that Microsoft was committed to bringing as many games from the old system as possible along for the ride.  The comments I read today from Peter Moore were disappointing, frankly, and came across as dishonest.  Underpromised and overdelivered?  Hardly, given that a PR person from MS in May of last year stated that the goal was to have every Xbox game made compatible with the 360.  It will be interesting to see the backlash, if any, against MS over the next few weeks given the statements of VP Moore...

Is it me, or does that PR blog blow? Why don't they just let major deal with us? Who needs a GROUP blog?? So they can pass around blame?
