Tomorrow’s show will be up a little late, probably around 9:30pm PT. (What time is that in my timezone?) I think it will be worth the wait. I have am in interview with ‘Dead Rising' Executive Producer Keiji Inafune, Xbox.com’s TriXie drops by to tell us all about the highly successful GamerchiX program and I interview the summer interns of the Xbox team. That’s not all…I’ll also give you a sneek preview of Gamefest which kicks off Monday morning. One more thing: anyone have any comments on this?
Talk to you tomorrow!
Cool, I can wait
@hi and bye
Get off my internet ;)
Now to the matters at hand, The article about the OPM editor is kinda cool, it's wierd not more PS fanboys have postedd comments there though
Ahh, the 1Up site, home of one of my absolute favourite Podcasts, the 1UpYours weekly show. WELL worth a listen IMO.
my comments are this: the people who work for a gaming mag...be it nintendo, microsoft, or sony based, ALL have one thing in common: they're gamers. and gamers go where the games are. and if all things are considered to be equal, then they'll go where the cheaper games are. which, i feel, is the reason she wrote that article. for the next year or so, the only difference between the PS3 and the 360 is going to be price and hddvd/blueray. and if you dont care about the formats, then all you're gonna care about is the price. and 360 has the ps3 whipped.
The PS3, with it's high price point, has frozen too many potential consumers out. For this reason I think it will fail.
Very interesting article and what is Sony thinking. They are on their side but its a good decision IMO.
I am honestly not surprised about Dana's decision. I personally know a good number of people who went out and bought an Xbox 360 after hearing the price of the PS3.
i personally dont think much of the PS3 because of its endless sequals, a good thing about Microsoft and Xbox is theirs a lot more origional games comming out for it, bar the yearly sports titles
PS3 though slightly better in power then the 360 wont have games showing this for a while until developers get to grips with the system more like with the more recent graphically decent ps2 games that have been released.. im sure itl do well, but with nothing but sequals i feel nothing towards the PS3.. not even final fantasy 13 lol
the price killed it for me, not because i cant afford it, theirs nothing to justify it besides blu ray and since the 360 has HD i dont want tons of different dvd types lol
and i can just feel the responses like oh metal gear solid 4... devil may cry 4 are worth the price.. sorry all sequals
oh man a late-late show that is actually worth my attention. :)
YAY.
YAWN
its definately gonna be a great show. cant wait for the Interview with Keiji Inafun.
$600 for a Ps3 and $600 for a Premium + HD-DVD.
You have to compare the simular systems if you must compare them at all...
I getting all three system cus I want the best of all worlds!
So what's all high price for a Ps3 fuzz about? The simulare 360 setting cost just as much!!!
oo0 getin excited about dead rising sounds like its gona be a good show. very gd points (A.Searrs) i suspect once people realise the ps3 price and then think hey i only got a small SDCRT the rest is simple (ps3 1 game xbox 360 3,4,5, games now that bundles are becoming more available over here its gona be tough to hand over that cash if you have enuff lol
She's smart, I'm never going to buy another launch console from sony or ms again after what happened with the ps2 and with the xbox 360. Especially with ms which went like this
"Hey my xbox 360 broke."
"Sorry, send it to us."
"Awesome."
One week later
"Hey, this xbox doesn't work either."
"Oh, sorry send it back."
2 months later (There was one or two calls during the 2 month period.)
"Yeah, I sent an xbox 360 to you guys before christmas... Haven't got it back yet."
"You're not on record."
"Well I sent it."
"Okay, I see what happened. Yeah, we lost it."
"When am I going to get it back?"
"When we find it."
and then 3 weeks later I got a working xbox.
I realize she's getting a wii at launch but Nintendos last forever. My original nes was a launch and it still works to this day, even though I have to do a dance to appease it before inserting games. It's been the same story with all the other nintendo systems minus the pre game ritual.
It's OK because she would have to stab some kid in the head in order to get a PS3 this x-mas anyways. There will be enough people who can meet the price to sell the units out and next x-mas it will probably have a price drop. When people ask "what is sony thinking?", I am not surprised. SONY is doing the opposite of Microsoft. MS has completely dropped all support for xbox1. SONY still considers PS2 to be a viable product and they would be more than happy to keep making those for the next century if they thought they could sell them. SONY consider PS3 to be a different market than PS2 and they are planning on fully supporting both platforms well into the future. By the time PS3 becomes affordable they will have upgraded the chipset as a "premium" edition and the standard package will have dropped in price. They can't produce enough to meet demand so it doesn't matter that the price is astronomical. As we all saw on ebay, XBOX 360 could have been $1000 and they would have still sold them all out.
November is going to be fascinating. The Wii will be widely available, Gears of War will be displayed on 360 demo units (hopefully) and the PS3 will have..
.. come to think of it, what will the PS3's strongest selling point? Is there a system selling game this xmas for it?
no.
