Forza 2 vs Grand Tourismo HD (Its going be a very good fight, GT HD im afaids going to win this.
Halo 3 vs Kill Zone 2 (lol bungies going to go for a knockout I swear)
Metal Gear: Sons of Patriots vs Splinter Cell 5(if ubisoft decides to, which it will, its going to be a good fight)
Bigest pridiction is that Bungie is going to drop a bomb on Sony, destroying anything in its path, first Kill Zone, then its main system.

man i agree H3 will be big and that MGS will be the best ps3 game to date - but the GT vs forza come on GT is a rehashing of the same game again for the third time --- havent played GT since the first one and im not sad ^_^

1. Happy new year! Two questions. In terms of HD DVD is Toshiba and co (MS) etc. still actively talking to other studios (aka Disney, Fox) about publishing HD DVD content. I know the battle just started but, HD DVDs are selling better. The Blu-Ray lineup is starting to look nice (specially with WB bringing Batman Begins, etc.) I own an HD DVD player and love it. My concern is content; Universal is not enough. I know Sony may partially own some studios, but the bottom line is that everyone wants to sell, right?
2. In terms of Xbox Live Arcade, content is lacking. Porting Sega Genesis/SNES/Turbo16 games is pathetic (Nintendo Wii) when there are tons of arcade (MAME type stuff) games that look better. System 16 (Sega) games looked better than their Megadrive brothers. Is MS trying to bring these games home? There is a lot of good content, and I'm sure SEGA, etc would profit from this. Any words? Thanks!!

Prediction: xbox360 owns 07, closely followed by Wii in the US. Wii kills competition in Japan. Europe still 360 territory. MGS4 (to be released 08), Tekken6 (already a rumor), Ace Combat (would be nice to dogfight online) for the 360. Halo 3 sets several sales records.
I predict virtual console will make Microsoft wish they hadn't wasted a year of XBLA monopoly...

I will not pay for an emulated copy of a game I bought years ago. At least with XBL I get online multiplayer in some games or at LEAST leaderboards in others...
WTFs the point of having all the old games available with no online multiplayer? Why not just play them in their original format?

After seeing the Wii, I must say that it doen's look better than the PS2. My eye is already used to HD graphics. I can't go back. Sorry Nintendo. No matter how well it sells (and it wiil), HDTV owners must avoid this system. Who really want's to play Wii boxing? Buy an HD DVD player instead.
Core 360>Wii. Once Core drops in price, Wii'll have problems! Hey, since VF is coming to the 360, how about a VF/360 bundle in Japan. I hear they love Virtua over there. Theoretically they could play this game for less than $250, versus >400 on the PS3.

As posted above GT HD was cancelled so they could start on GT5. Even still i think Forza will own that and any other racing game made between now and 08. I use 08 as a reference here because we wont be seeing a new GT game until then. By the time they finish GT5 we might be seeing a Forza 3. Either way i think Forza is a much better game and has a wonderfully slick feel to it. I call that as major hit this year.
my predictions:
ps3 still looks worse than x360 due to hardware constraints, sony fanbois will continue to blame the x360's extra ponies on developer comfort.
mgs4 is announced as cross platform after lacklustre ps3 sales
halo3 generates more hype than a return of jeebus on easter monday or christmas.
halo 3 learns from the mistakes and bullseyes of the previous 2 games and delivers a gaming zen, single handedly destroying the games industry.
realistically:
sony continues to suck
crysis turns out shiite
spore is over complicated and played briefly by millions of people, making EA happy, and will wright sad.
mgs4 is 90% cutscenes, and after finishing the game you get bandana's to make the 10% of the bluray disk you do get to play even easier.
most ps3->x360 ports do just as poorly in sales as they did on the ps3 due to the different markets.
even more exclusives jump ships to all platforms, because developement costs keep climbing.
XNA will flood the market with geometry wars clones for pc
pc gamers will tell console gamers they have a better platform because they can mod, upgrade and patch.
console gamers will tell pc gamers they're morons because they can mod, need upgrades, and buy games that need patches.
Wii fans will get RSI, black eyes, tennis elbow and ridiculed anyway for playing with their Wii's
I predict that we'll see motion controllers for the 360 and / or PS3 to rival the wii. ;)

i predict that software and exclusive downloads will continue to be relased in america by microsoft,only for 6 months later to be released to the rest of the world
He forgot Linux on the 360.
I predict that digital downloads will become much more commonplace on the PC (and hopefully cheaper), Sony has money problems this year, an overload of online MMO WoW-wannabes rise and fail (within weeks of each launch), some game will come out of nowhere and start a new genre, and I will continue to be broke trying to keep up on my PC and 360 gaming.
