If the publishers ultimately set their own prices, that would explain why Microsoft wants to charge for the GOW maps regardless of what Epic wants since they're the publisher of the title.

"Prices are set by the publisher", we already knew that Nelson, what you didnt say is that you get a percentage from each peice of content sold on Microsofts Marketplace, looks like were getting stonewalled by Microsoft, all they say is that they are telling Red Octane what we said on this blog and other places on the net regarding the issue, so if Red Octane doesnt want to lower the price, they wont, given the fact that Microsoft has weathered most of the flack for the pricing I doubt they will decide to do that at this point given that the worst of the pricing backlash has passed.
Major...the fact that you had a show today and did not run away from the issue(s) shows how much you care about the community. Sure you can't say what you think...I like what you said...that is IS up for us to decide. I 100% agree with you. WE control the future of the Marketplace. If we don't buy these things, then game makers HAVE to change....excellent point.
Thanks for the show, but now I'm REALLY confused about what video files the 360 will now support.
How's about a flat statement saying whether or not this will enable Divx/Xvid encoded content (as .avi) for those of us that aren't experts?!

So the developer has NO say, such as when Rare wanted to release GEO. Wars for Free? Or Epic wants to release Gears of War for free? What about the company that made Marble Blast Ultra, and wanted to give content away for free, we'll never see that because of you guys? And WHAT are we paying $50 for that Silver Members arn't getting? The Online? If thats so, how come the servers for Gears of War, a game Microsoft PUBLISHED, has crap servers. If publishers can SET the prices, they can ATLEAST tell the company to FIX the servers.
