im sure it will be down more than 8 hours. Microsoft always fails in this area so far.
Hopefully this downtime will fix the slowness I was seeing on Saturday night. It took 45 minutes to download two individual songs from the Rockband store. I checked my connection and I was running at top speed, but unfortunately LIVE wasn't. :(

FYI, if you were logged into (live.)xbox.com before the maintenance started then accessing xbox.com sends you into an infinite redirect loop to the live (id) logout service:
login.live.com/logout.srf
The ct value (probably time based) changes on each redirect. Also, I blanked out the 'id' value because im not sure if it's my personal id or the site's.
I was playing forza until 10:02 when i was kicked off.
I'll have to do something crazy like revise for my exams...:O
WEll live goes down DIVX goes Boom... what a joke, cant even use my 360 as a media player while live is down. Error 51-c00df236 FTW!!! Even movies I know and have played before wont work, oh well guess the 360 gets turned off and the PS3 gets turned on. *sigh*

This is nothing but a procedure to lay the foundation...a blanket of mines for MS to ban users with modded consoles. The update was for this purpose. This maintenance will test it and do some repair work for GTA 4 too. Once Live goes up and GTA 4 comes out, MS will unleash it's wraith over the infidels who have gone astray.
I just hope the followers aren't slaughtered in the process!
