This week on Arcade, Wits & Wagers will be available in Canada, United Kingdom and the U.S. for 800 points.
I'm looking forward to this one... Something else to use my big button controllers for!
why? why not have "casual fridays" or something for these games?
That's an odd list of countries. I'm sure most people have an US silver account, but still... The whole lemon-stand example doesn't fit here. Then again, it rarely does. What is REALLY the reasons for you (not you, Larry, but you know what I mean) keeping so much content so limited? I think it's about time you let us know.
YES! I've been waiting for Wits & Wagers to arrive on the Xbox Live Arcade since it was announced. It's good to see another party game on the Xbox 360. Between Scene It! and Wits & Wagers, I think this may level out the entertainment field of this genre. Good thing the expansion Rocketmen: It Came Fom Uranus is hitting the XBLA on Wednesday too. Looks like we're looking at Happy Tree Friends and Assault Heroes 2 to round out this month.
another crap game,i haven't bought a game off of xbla for ages and i do buy crap because i have bought 71 of them but the last couple of months the games have been to bad even for me
...you ARE joking, aren't you Major? Get this crap off my Xbox Live.
Ahh, great! Another hit on Europe! We still have no Marketplace (Austria), no Inside Xbox, we pay more for XBL (USD/EUR), we don't have such a big content offer for pics/themes and all that stuff and now we have to pass on XBL Arcade Games ... I really do feel fucked up, sorry! Always the same *** ...
OOPS... what I meant was that the expansion pack Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus will be launching on the XBLA along side of Assault Heroes 2 next week on Wednesday, May 14th. Not this week alongside Wits & Wagers.
Please, PLEASE, if you're going to release a somewhat gimmicky board/trivia game on the XBLArcade, pair it's release up with something with some action to it, too.
Take an example from Wii's VC release this week. They released Planet Puzzle League, along side NES beat-em-up Renegade.
It's always nice to have a selection, especially alongside a game that looks so "casual-gamer-friendly".
Ahh well, Bionic Commando and Assault Heroes 2 are rumored for next week... would'a been nice to have one of those released this week.
Anon 1, are you a *** or something? Do you know how few trivia type games there are compared to most any other genre? Yeah lets get yet another shooter/retro remake title instead of a fresh trivia game. Idiot. There are tons of shooters and retro remakes on the arcade already. I for one, have been looking forward to the game since it got a 9.0 in official xbox magazine.
I would like this game, why not release it in other countries where we want the games in english anyway? (Like Denmark).
SAB CA you are a homo. This is a new game, not some nes port that was ported over with no enhancements, that's why the wii can release mulitple games, but games like this take time.
WOW! GREAT XBLA WEEK AFTER A GAMELESS ONE! ¬¬
Nothing better than a bunch of people complaining about a game they never played before. Seriously...you guys are idiots.
Sweet cant wait to try this out it looks awesome.
Although the game looks kind of weak, you win bonus points for some nice alliteration. \ o /
Anon 13, I know games take time (and I'll ignore the name calling.) However, I also know XBLA has a variety of games lined up for release. I know games like Samurai Showdown II and Red Baron have been rated by the ESRB, that Bionic Commando Rearmed has release dates posted on different places for either the 7th of 14th or this month, and that we're still awaiting games like War World.
Releases are held back for different reasons. Some are under additional development, but some are also staggered because of a planned release strategy.
What I was talking about falls under the latter. Heck, last weeks "No Arcade game this week, because GTA IV is coming out!" could be part of a strategy. "Don't release anything that has no chance competing with GTA IV!" Do you think they could have released a game last week if they wanted to? Surely.
So, I wasn't making some silly "Castle Crashers release NAO!" comment (it's own blog tells us it's still under development), just suggesting that -Wits & Wagers- (from screens and premise) isn't the kinda game that makes a real memorable XBLA week, presented on it's own. Especially since it's following a no-game week.
