Xbox LIVE GTA IV Numbers

Wired has made a post that rounds up some of the GTA Numbers following Take 2’s $500 Million dollar announcement earlier today. A lot of you have asked for some GTA LIVE numbers, so let’s take a look a what we have so far:

  • In the first week, more than 2.3 million people played Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox LIVE
  • GTA IV is now the number one played game on Xbox LIVE (as you already know)
  • Over the weekend, we saw the Xbox LIVE service reach 1 million concurrent users
  • Gamers have unlocked more than 12 million achievements worth over 100 million gamerscore points in GTA
  • Grand Theft Auto IV set a new record for time played, with the average gamer spending more than four hours playing the game on LIVE in the first week alone

Not bad for a week, huh?

Thats some pretty impresive information!  I figured it had a record amount of users on live, because on my FL alone I had around 35 friends playing GTA 4.  That was about twice as many friends playing GTA  when it launced, compared to Halo 3 when it lanched.  Thanks for the info major

Thanks for the info major. I am up set at GTA now as it’s done something to my save file that won’t let me continue with the story so I might have to start again. If I do it will be later in the month or early June when I have finished college for the summer.

I was thinking of getting a copy of my bothers save file but I am worried about Microsoft thinking I am trying to get easy gamer score and getting reset to 0.

Anyone else having problems playing GTA IV multiplayer? I've really struggled the last two days to connect to friends - to the point that i'm thinking of giving up even trying. Frustrating thing is i spent the evening on Monday night playing Cops vs Robbers mode and it was amazing - but the network issues are really causing me mucho frustration!
