The PR folks just kicked out a press release with some impressive new information:
Thanks to everyone for your support!Edit: Cleaned up formatting and clarified the 19m number.
Good news for Microsoft.
Congrats to the Xbox team!
excellent, but you'd expect it being the first one to be released.
Are the rumoured spring update features true?
well done 360
wouldnt really say its NEXT gen...its THIS gen,LOL...next gen would be the xbox 720 or whatever..ps4,etc etc
Good job! Only 108 million behind the PS2! :D
So this number includes all 12 of my accounts right? I mean there are a lot of people w/ numerous gamertags so this number is inaccurate.
yeah, first ever or first next-gen?
First of this generation, as Major said.
Congratulations to the Xbox team. Pop that champagne.
I clarified my post with current generation. :)
After last month's NPDs the 360 was only 102,00 consoles short. Hope you sold more than 102K in April.
--insert unanswerable question about spring update here--
FANTASTIC
IT'S NICE TO KNOW THERE IS ALWAYS SOME ONE TO PLAY AGAINST CONGRATS TO XBOX TEAM !!!!!!!!
Congrats guys
how can it be the first to 19 million, hasn't the wii sold more than 25 million worldwide already?
The real question will be if the PS3 will reach 10M in the US before a year from now.
I.e. will the PS3 reach 10M faster than the 360 did as calculated from time of launch of the console.
What about the spring update major? That list seems pretty believable to me. 80 odd things that can only improve the xbox. Please give us a useful response
I'm glad. Microsoft deserves this success. The Xbox 360 is one of the best consoles to date, and it's certainly my favorite.
Good job ;-)
with 10million i wonder how many are gold and how many are getting screwed with a silver account
Woohooo! Congrats to the Xbox team!
@a Frisky Dingo
It's the first in the U.S. to reach 10 million. As far as I can tell, the fact that 19 million have been sold worldwide is just an extra fact, not a claim that it was the first to do so. The way the sentence is worded does make it sound like such a claim, though.
...or it's possible that the numbers you found could be wrong. VGChartz seems to think both the Xbox 360 and Wii have sold over 11 million consoles in the U.S. alone.
go xbox360.
