I notice the demo isn't up.. did you really post this at (about) 5am CST and mark the post as made at 10am CST? Come on dude, don't be an ass.
Demo is up now it seems, still, wth with the marking this at 10am CST?
Oh nice. Been thinking of buying this but wasn't sure.. now i get to see what i've been missing.
What is this? Singleplayer, multiplayer, or both???
@ mikdaddy: If you ask me you haven't been missing out on much. I got to review the game and altough it was a bit fun to begin with it got really repetetive and quite boring after a couple of hours of play. The review's in norwegian, so you might understand it since you're swedish =) I gave it a 4/10.

This is a decent game, I'm about 50% done so far. It plays a lot like Resident Evil 4, so may seem a little dated, but it actually makes it refreshing in a way. I think the glaive makes the game somewhat too easy though. This game won't blow you away, but you can get lost in it for hours.
Okay, seems like it's a singleplayer demo only.
Finally. Been waiting for the demo for months! PSN got it ageeeees ago.
Demo available in Australia aswell? Wasn't the game banned over here?
demos flyin out now!
I'm glad I got my PS3 this week. Since I haven't had much reason to continue my Gold account with XBL, I don't get these demos right when they release. At least with my PS3 I can try out some of these multiplatform game demos without having to worry about seeing the "No Smoking" sign on all of the newly released demos.
I have to say that having now experienced being a Silver member that it really doesn't bother me that much to have to wait. The only reason for me to have Gold is to play online multiplayer, but I haven't really been doing a lot of that, so the value of a Gold membership has gone done extremely for me.
When I play online I typically only do it a couple days out of a month (depending on what game, how new the game is, and whether it's planned game time or not). I just can't see the justification in having to pay a monthly/yearly fee for this feature.
I had a chance to check out the Lost Planet Online Demo over the Playstation Network. I have to say that I was very impressed with how easy everything was and how fast I was placed in a match. If Microsoft doesn't start to rethink their subscription methods, I might have to make a complete switch to PSN for online multiplayer gaming.
As for this Dark Sector demo; I thought the graphics were great and the gameplay was enjoyable. I got stuck near the beginning and couldn't get past this gate with a glowing chain on it. I still thought it showed some potential. It seems more like a rental game for me though.
A very good game! Enjoy it
Wow 2 months late. Got this ages ago on the ps3.
Better late than never, I already downloaded the PS3 demo, bought the Xbox game, completed it and traded it :P However its a solid game thats under rated imo, if you enjoy the demo you will like the full game, but I would'nt buy it over Ninja Gaiden or anything :)
@ RidinSlow: PSN doesn't come close to XBL
But not available from Czech republic :( It's shame. And same goes to Ninja gaiden II or Bourne conspiracy demo.
Ahh good, I was looking to try this game and Gamefly has been dragging its feet. Something else to try out tonight..
"PSN doesn't come close to XBL"
Yah it's about 100000000000 miles ahead with no waiting for demos,no cost, actual cash ammounts, equal Canadian pricing,a whole lot less laggy games (1/14 I tried on PS3 while 9/12 lagged on XBL) and less jerks playing them. (Ran into one in every room on XBL,one total on PSN though personal exp. there) Though it would be nice if they updated more than once a week.
Pretty funny leg pull guys. No Kiss Of Death because since there was no demo prior, I got it for $24 - a 9/10 Grade Used copy. Even if I had not already purchased this title, I would still be waiting a week for it anyway. THIS FIXES NOTHING MAJOR.
I DARE YOU, DARE YOU, TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU, to pull this with a Gears 2 demo. PLEASE.
Have you figured out that being STUPID like this is one of the reasons game sales have slowed. And there is NO DRM TOOL yet, so ZERO FOR TWO as of late...
XBox 360 - And don't even ask me what I think of the PA week 3 rating. $20 is justified my backside - even Bejeweled was half price on XBLA...
The game was banned in Australia and the demo available on AU marketplace is the uncut version. All of the gore and such is present! Looks like someone at Microsoft stuffed up. Australians better hurry before it gets taken down!!!!!! To date no other version other than the uncut version has been submitted for a rating. So there is currently banned content available to Australians on marketplace! Thanks a bunch Major, this gives us the opportunity to easily bypass this countries inane video game classification laws. The OFLC can get stuffed. As always their BS classification decisions have once again been made useless. I'm pretty sure the game was banned in Germany as well.
I think that this game is ok. The glaive is a fun weapon and it looks pretty. The rest is quite generic and the shooting is a little poor. However, I enjoyed playing it whilst it lasted - 7 out of 10
"all" regions is a lie. not available in germany, thanks to the f'ed up age restrictions.
Sigh. If only I could download this with my Gold account. :\
I guess I'll have to wait a week and then download it on my free silver account.
I guess if the PS3 fans who keep posting who much better it is had a pr blog for their product they might have heard there is a subscription fee which will now be required for PSN "premium", which of course includes their demos...not their demos right away (like a Gold account), but rather an all or nothing (you no pay, you no play). I believe the pricing is set to $5 a month/ $25 for a year, but all it gives you is a digital magazine and demos trailers, so $50 for Gold is still a bargain.
I don't understand how people think this game plays like any game other than GEARS OF WAR...it has a 99% identical control/ cover scheme, and even has exact levels from Gears (in Dark Sector one level puts in the Mansion, cut and pasted right in). The game was a lot of fun, though a little repetitive, but the multiplayer had a few issues that made it too much trouble to deal with. Definitely worth a rental if you liked Gears.
So, Major, you are saying there is a game store in the vicinity of where you work/ live that either doesn't know who you are (says something about the level of "gamer" working there), that you don't have a hook up with, and that didn't tell you MGS was going to be sold out ahead of time? What is the name of this awesome place???
And for anyone that says "his name isn't MN" as a reason why someone wouldn't know him, Larry introduces himself in every interview and show with his first and last name (not to mention the video interviews, inside xbox, etc...no excuse for not knowing the Major when he is out and about!)
