Ok, you can stop finding things to keep you busy…LIVE is back. I am happy to report that the Xbox Live Maintenance is now complete which means that Xbox LIVE is back online, and you can now resume posting in the Xbox forums. Thanks again for your patience during this maintenance.
As I mentioned earlier in the week, tomorrow (Monday, 9/29/2008) from 12:01 AM PST for up to 24 hours, Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, Xbox LIVE and the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you won’t be able to post.) The remainder of Xbox.com will be available with limited interruptions. When the service returns, you will not have any new features and you will not have the new Xbox experience update. That will happen later this Fall. I will update my Twitter when the service returns.
Edit: The LIVE maintenance is taking longer than expected. I'll have an update at 0200 PT.
If you listened to my show last week, you know that e is working on building a PC. (Yes, e is a PC.) While LIVE is still being worked on, I thought I’d post his list for you to take a look at and give him your opinion.
A few explanatory notes:
- This will be primarily a gaming PC but will also be used for other tasks as well. It doesn't need to be the fastest possible as I like the bang-for-the-buck available if you're not quite bleeding-edge.
- It'll be hooked up to the big TV in my living room. It doesn't need to be silent since the room also contains a DVR, dogs, cats, etc. - but it can't be unusually loud.
- I don't want or need RAID - everything will get backed up to my WHS.

In this weeks Developer Diaries, we take a look at the new themes and the Friends channel. This is to follow up on the themes we showed you at E3. The PR team just kicked out a press release with a few Summer of Arcade stats on it. Here are the highlights:
Over the course of the five-week Summer of Arcade program there was a 58 percent increase in unique members purchasing titles, and August broke the monthly revenue high by 67 percent. August was also the first time that an Xbox LIVE Arcade game landed in the top 3 most-viewed pages on Xbox.com.
All in all a great month of Arcade games.
With my upcoming travel, I was thinking about what portable games I should buy. I’ve got a Zune with the latest firmware on it..which will give me Hexic and Texas hold em but what else should I look at?
