So far I have only one new achievement.
This is the first game that goes to 1750, isn't it?
Can you explain why this game is allowed to go past the 1250 point barrier?
It can go past 1250 just like Oblivion went past 1000. Its the next step in gamerscore and someone had to go first. I'm just surprised they skipped over 1500 and went straight to 1750.

Because its an M$ game and they want to milk abit more money out of it. Will the rules be changed constanly to suit your games? or does this now mean that ALL games can have 1750? i'm all for more points, but this just smells abit to me.
There is actually 30 new acheivements.
Just because the new maps aren't available on which you have to get them, they are still listed with the game acheivements and therefore should be noted that there is 30, NOT 10, new acheivements.

Wow, as if achievement points had no value before, now I REALLY don't care for them when all. Now all it'll take is a Halo 3 n00b to get a heap of gamerscore for a dated game like this.
I will have to play some Halo later tonight, can't wait. This should help me get through the next month until I get my hands on FABLE 2.

Too bad Halo 3 is probably the worst shooter on the 360...

Of course this means my completion percentage on Halo3 dropped from 77 to 44.
Looks like I'm going to have to drop some points on the Legendary map pack (don't think that's been made free yet) and in the future will have the privileged of spending more on an "Mythic" map pack.
On the bright side, all the new achievements are attainable in social games, which is much more boosting friendly.
Not that I'm complaining but I thought the Microsoft rule was 1000 gamerscore for the standard release and an additional 250 possible for DLC added later. Does this open the door for all titles to go back and add more achievements? Gears, CoD4, and Rock Band 1/2 have such huge online communities you would think they'd go back and take advantage of this.
We do deserve an explanation as to why the limit has been increased from 1250 to 1750 !?

When can they be unlocked?
you can only unlock 250 points of the extra 750 so far. it seems that the rule of max 250 achievement points per DLC stays true - expect more DLC required to unlock the remaining points

So far im not a fan of the changes and really hate online achievements...played some halo earlier, when I went to the DLC all it was were people trying to get achievements. Ill take a week or so off of halo and wait for the whores to get them so I can enjoy playing again.
this game really isn't good enough to warrant further development. bungie are up their own arseholes
