Xbox.com and the Xbox forums will be offline for maintenance on Tuesday, November 18th from 12:01am PT until 4:00am PT to prepare for the New Xbox Experience launch on Wednesday the 19th.

This does NOT affect Xbox LIVE, which will remain available during this time.

Just think, tomorrow we'll be getting the message from major saying when we can switch on our xbox's and get the new dashboard update message. It'll be awesome. Hopefully they do early in the morning for the states. Like 0001 on the 19th. It'd be PST, that be 8 a.m. my time. If not, oh well. It's the price I pay for moving here to the UK from the states. Anybody not from the US just understand that. It might suck all this maintenance and downtime being during the day or evening for you. This shouldn't happen much more with the downloads being done in the background now. This is a company based in the west coast states, and those people do need their sleep as well.

@madnizz, actually read what I wrote. I never said anything about live being down. With everyone complaining about it over the weekend and not. I was saying it's no big deal and hopefully won't be an issue with the background downloads coming. How this is good, since tomorrow we'll get the message from MN saying when the nxe should be live for us to get. With everyone outside the states whining over these system maintenance being done during the night for the states. It's how it is. It's a US based company, and that's the way it goes. If your looking for someone to try and pick at. Do it somewhere else. I'm just trying to put my opinion out there and get people to realize it's not a big deal.

Major, you remember that USA Today article you linked off to a few days ago on your twitter? they "promised" 250 people a NXE preview, but have yet to follow through on that, even after sending people emails that they were winners. Is there anything you can do to help these people out? I'm sure they'd even appreciate a day preview (even though they were originally promised a week) The article (and comments from upset users) are located here. If you can do anything it'd be great.:

You don't have to be good at working out timezone. That is why I put a link in that will translate the time to your timezone. If you need help on how to click on a link, someone else will have to help ;)

I am one of those people who never received the update after I was promised in an email sent a week ago. I do not really care now considering the launch is only a day away, but I really would like an explination as to why I did not receive the NXE early. I sent E a messege and this was his reply "Sorry, I don't have any information on the USA Today program." It almost seems as if the emails were never sent to Microsoft. Neverless its only a day away.

Hey Major, instead of simply making the time zone converter a link for the date, you should provide a link with proper wording instead. Like "Click here to see this in your own time zone."

Less confusion that way. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I'm really hoping that doesn't kick me out of Gears 2 multiplayer...gotta try and get those achievements in the public matches (wingman, king of the hill, meatflag, and guardian).

So what time will the NXE come out on the 19th? Wondering if I should stay up or just update it before I head to work.
