This month, Xbox LIVE kicks off the Friendship is Free program. Over the course of this month, multiplayer will be available for all Xbox LIVE members for eight Xbox LIVE Arcade games. The Xbox LIVE Arcade team will open up the multiplayer functionality for A Kingdom for Keflings, Aegis Wing, Bomberman Live, Hardwood Hearts, Hardwood Spades, UNO, Small Arms and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. So round up your silver friends and get some free play on.

This should be fun for me and my sons to play Bomberman online together Now is the time to make it so that if you have 1 Gold account, then all Silver accounts can have Gold Access on the same Xbox. It is kind of ridiculous to expect those with families to pay an annual fee for each person to have Gold Access. Not very family friendly for a company trying to push it as that.
Would be nice if I could actually use Xbox Live instead of constantly getting 80072ee2 error messages.

Honestly I always though Arcade games should be free for MP or have a lower price point for a live membership just for arcade. A lot of the non-hardcore gamers in my house play just the Arcade titles and it would be a waste of $50 just to play MP arcade titles casually.
I'd like to think that this would lead to free online across all games eventually, but I'll no longer get my hopes up for that ever happening.

A better idea would have been to extend this to all the old games that no one plays on Live anymore, so that I could have some home of getting those now unattainable multiplayer achievements.

Gold shouldn't exist anyways. I made a topic about this in a forum. I hate sounding like some MS hater beacuse I really love my 360 and believe its the best thing ever....BUT...MS is money hungry company and its followers are robots...drones... they do what they are told and don't believe anything when people tell them they are being taken advantage of.
Example. Live for PC. When MS said "We will charge you for Gold!" The gamers on PC who are naturally NOT robots said "We aren't stupid! We know games are meant to be played free online!" MS backed down and knew they weren't fighting drones. They made everything free to play online.
Yet the console gamers still don't say anything about it. We sit here and let MS charge us for Gold. People make excuses on why its worth it. But non work. Why? Because if MS's original thing was Gold was for people who wanted to play the games online. So thats the whole point. Your NOT paying for demos early, your not paying for cool stuff or nice features. They say things now to save their butt because they realized that people might catch on to what happened to the pc market.
If they want to charge people for features then fine. Call Gold that. But make gaming online free. Give Silver the ability to play games online and make Gold some exclusive "get nice stuff" club. Because frankly most people don't care that much. I bought my 360 for games not getting demos a whole week early.

You can go to Micky D's and get a bag full of free ketchup and mustard. That does not mean it's going to be good unless you buy a big mac for it to go on. On another note. Xbox Live has been running now for almost 6 years. I was there at the start up for Halo 2 which basically launched the service. After paying for live for six years I have spent $300+ on this. Now is the time for M$oft to allow users all the great features for free! I mean PS3 is going to launch home soon and that service is going to be free (from what I've been told). I renewed my 1 yr subscription in Feb and have not been able to use the service now for almost 2 months due to an E 74 error. Nice gesture for silver members, but geeeezzzzz!
How long till you make Gold worth having? Discounts on DLC (hell, we should be getting most DLC for free anyway!) and Arcade games please. £40 to play online, and having to spend more money isn't fun.

all they do is have servers for signin's and for the stuff they want to sell us
I'll get my SSF2THD multiplayer achievements then thanks. Still most likely won't get gold but maybe i'll use the 5 or 6 months worth of trial codes I have from pre-orders etc.
