This weeks Deal of the Week is now available. The Xbox Original Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex normally 1200 points is now available for Xbox LIVE Gold Members for 800 points, a savings of 33%.
This game should be 400-600 points max.
A 7 year old Xbox1 game , eh yeah 400 sounds about right.
OMG Microsoft you fail and should just give up!!!!!!
At least it's an actual deal this week. Not some EA crap
worth it but no for me major sorry your not geting my money this week.. i wish you guy would low the cost of crack down DLC already so i can pick that up..
Am I the only one who is thinking that MS are actually trying to annoy its userbase with these so called 'deals of the week'. It's like they actually want us to hate them. I love my 360 and wouldn't swap it for anything but MS you really need to fire the people in charge of these promotions.
I would LOVE to see the sales numbers from the past few weeks worth of "deals"...the only one I picked up, during this whole promotion, was the Penny Arcade one. I really think senote is on the right track and some Sony spy has infiltrated MS marketing. This theory, at least, would explain the complete loss of common sense. Next week's deal? I predict a 10% discount on Horse Armor!
800 points no deal to me.sorry
Ya, these deals are seriously lacking. And you really do have to wonder what the point is of some of these deals. Reminds me of a weird version of the failblog "specials". you know the ones where it says original price $10, now on sale for $35 (savings of -$25). Wonder if failblog would accept screenshot submissions of these deals of the week.
Those deal of the wEAk seems more like a "sold-out because it sucks too much".
Come on, there are plenty of contents or full games that would sold by trucks in their prices were lowered, like, per exemple, every XBLA titles which are sold more than 800 just to let us think that buying it when it's a deal of the week at -33% is a bargain, except that it should have been the price from the begining.
The pricing is no more coherent, selling N64 titles on Virtual Console 10$/€ is already too much, and you sell them for 15$ ????
I'm waiting for the "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" price to confirm the new Marketplace philosophy, because both Sonic 1 & 2 were 400, if Sonic 3 is more expensive, then we will have the ultimate proof you are treated us like milking cows. I can't wait.
You really have to go to 3 or 4 items a week for sales. If I saw something interesting at a reasonable price (at least 33% off) every week, I might buy something every week. Isn't that the point of sales, to get people to buy?
Perhaps you've noticed there is a recession going on and OTHER retailers are offering deep discounts on a wide variety of products.
Quick check on ebay and there are many completed listings for Wrath of Cortex for under £4 including delivery. Why bother when you can pick up a boxed copy...
A bad game for a bad price. I bought the PS2 version a couple months back (I actually like Crash Bandicoot, especially the Warped! game) and frankly, it sucks. Uneven difficulty curve, boring "been there, done that" level design and simply NOT FUN. For 800 MSP, there are a TON of more interesting arcade games up.
So, what's the "deal" again?
not for me, as my 360 has broken down. after 14 months it has stopped outputting any video, but this is apparantly not covered by any extended warranty. i now have two broken xbox 360s which microsoft will not replace.
Crash Bandicoot game I think this deal will, well........Crash.
Crash and Burn on this deal?
yea yea I know, just having fun
Hey it could be worse. The DOTW could have been L4D Survivor Pack for 400 points.
WoW!
It seems like they only try to make a deal on games and addons that most dont want to earn some quick buck.
HEY MICROSOFT TAKE A HINT. LOOK AT VALVE! Their Weekend deals are absolutely fantastic and have many many times forced me to impulse buy something that I didn't really need or even consider buying until I saw the price. Look at last weeks. Left 4 Dead for 24 bucks. That's an insane deal on a very new game! Take a cue from them and watch the profit roll in guys.
how come the deals of the week are usually games that suck, ones that most people already have, or like this one, ones that if you search on the internet can find a cheaper copy
speaking of the XBOX originals, any idea if Beyond Good & Evil, Def Jam Fight For NY, or Strangers Wrath will ever make the list?
Why is it that Steam get their "Weekend deals" right, yet MS get their "Deal of the week" so, so wrong?
1200pts is a silly price to be charging for XB-originals.
My local gamestop had a box of unboxed XBOs for 3Euro (Buy one get one free)
I could pick up Max Payne 1+2 for 3Euro, or could spend 30Euro for a digital download version.
Give the consumers an incentive to purchase MS. Incentive, not a feeling of being short-changed.
No deal.
Not for me this week.
only problem I had with wrath of cortex was the super annoyingly long loading screens. the rest of the game wasn't all that bad.
being a silver member this stuff doesn't affect me in any way, but i see why people would complain...
you pay $15 for a $5 game. on top of that, you have all the "no hard copy" issues along with the game being tied to a single console.
i like how the psp does downloadable games. the game files can be downloaded and saved to a computer, which can then be burned to disc for backup. you can't do that with content you get on the xbox 360. I haven't tried with ps3 demos and i don't own any download-only ps3 games. that's the way to do dlg (downloadable games), though.
