any real reason why this isn't out in Australia? really annoyed at this, was really looking forward to this game
Australia has not got any of the TAITO collection unfortunately.
Looks like MS does not want my points.
It's because of the extreme violence.
LOVED this game back in the day. Hopefully its as fun as I remember it.
While I enjoyed Qix back "in the day" in the arcade, it never held a place in my heart like Qbert, Crystal Castles, Galaga, Ms Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros, Marble Madness, Sinistar... I could go on and on. Qix was fun but I have no real nostalgia for it. I might try the demo but I doubt this will be a sale. The only way to do old arcade games is to give them a complete makeover like Pac Man CE, IMO. Make it fresh and fun for today.
Too bad it's 800pts. This is more of a classic arcade game and would be better at 400.
I have to agree with @Ark Hunter. I gave this game a try this morning, and the graphics and audio are not something I would consider "top of the line". @Ark is right...it's more of a classic arcade title. Plus, I had no idea what I was doing when I first started playing it...and that is key for me...to grab one's attention at the very start of the game. 400 MS Points would have been a better deal. :-|
What ever happened to 400 point games? Just because nobody is going to buy this doesn't mean it should cost so much.
Also, obligatory comment asking about when Perfect Dark is coming out.
If MS is serious about digital downloads they need to start treating XBLA more like a real sales channel and not just a curiosity. Brick and Mortar stores release more than one new game a week - XBLA should too.
There's a ridiculous backlog of titles that have been announced for XBLA with no visibility to the consumer of when they'll come out. Again, retail lists releases months in advance, but with XBLA we're lucky to get a few days notice (except during Summer of Arcade). At least offering a Winter of Arcade would let us know what's coming twice a year! By announcing XBLA releases for the next month or so these developers could at least do a little promotion to spur sales and hype leading up to the release date.
I love how MS just put names on a hat to decide which regions are going to get screwed.
IN a hat xP
Damn I would have bought this if it had been available in Oz.
The original was bloody addictive...Oh well.
Again, this game isnt a choice i would buy, since im still wanting Serious Sam and Perfect Dark.
BEWARE! As per usual, despite Major's claim that DLC has to be "original" content, it is indeed a 1200 (or more) point game "in disguise". There are several game modes that are happily described in the "help page" on the trial, but once you've bought it - they are nowhere to be found. get your wallet ready for the 2nd half of the game!
yeah, day one DLC. Surely, the point of DLC is to release new content some time after release? This isn't additional content, it's withheld content.
Taito are no better than Namco these days and M$ should have words with them.
Totally not worth 800 points. 2 level trial demo? Lame.
Wow. Withheld content? Day one DLC? I'm glad that I read this first before buying -- no way in hell I'll be supporting that. Thanks but no thanks. Meh, despite the nostalgia, probably wouldn't have played it that much anyway.
