March 11th cant come soon enough. Us XB360-ers watched a LOT of Titanfall videos/streams.

    • https://twitter.com/Ganon255 Ganon255

Dark Souls II also comes out on March 11th!

    • Pete

Hate to break it to you but the 360 version was pushed back a fortnight to March 25th.

      • Mike Glynn

Yep, March 25th for 360 owners in afraid.

  • Kid Sidious

I’m trying to understand but I just don’t get it. Not allowing pre-purchasing and pre- loading digital titles while stating “you believe in a digital future” doesn’t sync up. I know that the company is smart and I’m sure there’s more then a few within the organization that wants the same thing as we the customer so if it’s not to much to ask; what’s holding you back from truly embracing a digital future? Right now it just seems you’re still dipping your toe into the water to see if it’s just right.

    • Cooper Hawkes

They didn’t say all games in the statement, just Titanfall. It sounds like its a system that isn’t ready yet. That they probably wanted to have it but it wasn’t ready for release. That’s what I read.

      • Nick Peck

It’s not that, I think it’s more along the lines of retailers knowing how huge this game is going to be and they want people walking into their stores to buy the game, accessories and hardware, along with picking up some other stuff they weren’t planning on buying.

So the retailer(s) probably gave a nod saying, “if you want your shelf space in my store, you will let up on the digital whatever”. It bums me out too, I was really hoping to be able to pre load Titanfall.

        • Kid Sidious

@cooperhawkes:disqus I agree that it probably is a system that isn’t ready yet, however with the original digital direction that the Xbox One was going in I’m sure this had to be a part of that vision in some form. While I don’t think it’s completely abandon I do think they are slow walking this out and it’s probable due to what @nickpeck:disqus is pointing out. I just don’t believe that you can please retail partners and go digital and keep everyone happy. That being said; if all releases will be available digitally day and date with retail, then a pre-loading pre-purchase plan should be a part of that for nothing more then to reduce bandwidth strain.

          • Nick Peck

Great reply and I agree. There is no way to make everyone happy, it just isn’t possible but MS needs to put forth their DD plans so we know what to expect. I mean you can still buy PC games at most retail stores, yet Steam has a lot of sales and offers pre-loading, even sony has a few games that you can pre order and pre load digitally.

Pre loading should pretty much be a part of every major pre order game(s), especially for a major AAA game release. The game will still sell very well at retail, even more so now that they have that nice new bundle to sell.

  • Mike Glynn

Agreed with Kid Sidious, we want pre launch downloads so we don’t have to want till the evening on launch day to play are games. Also, can we not have same day launches for US and UK, especially on games like Titanfall that’s giving people a massive advantage by the time we get it over here.

  • Ross Kemp

So , brick and mortar retailers threw a hissy fit at the pre-download option and MS backed down to them and with drew the option .
Totally gutless of you MS , grow a set .

      • Ross Kemp

Haha , intellectual reply I suppose for a pony .

    • Nick Peck

It’s not a knock towards you, but most people have NO clue as to how relationships work between companies and retailers. MS, Sony and other companies rely heavily on retailers to sell both hardware and software (most hardware these days) and don’t want to risk losing shelf space in stores if they tick them off.

It’s a very delicate balance sadly. I don’t like it much either as I prefer digital downloads and would love the option to pre load a game so i don’t have to wait forever for 20gb’s to download before I can play. However, MS needs to push / change said relationships a bit considering they wanted us to be digital only originally but aren’t prepared fully to give us what digital only customers should get (as in pre orders and pre loading in the Xbox Store).

I’m sure it will take time so it’s not a big deal, but at the same time it’s kind of frustrating. There is a lot to it more than what I said when you figure in advertisements, “I’ll run your back if you rub my back” dealings, ect. I just hope they push to make things like this happen asap though.

      • Ross Kemp

Great reply . Thank you it was a very interesting read .

  • Demetre HG

That so sucks Random selection BS what about the true supporters

  • Noel Gomes

I don’t even understand most the appliance-gadget stuff in this show :(

    • Nick Peck

They just talk about some cool devices they come across and or use which I like, it’s cool to hear about some things I might not know about. I really like that Larry and company toss in some other things than being 100% games.

off topic…graphics do count. after fixing the online and just getting it back to the basics to where they left off with the 360.. Graphics is the next big problem. Microsoft should not let ps4 have no gap on them at all…wat so ever. This is next Gen…it should look like it. With that said..Son of Rome is the best looking game of all times to me. Keep those type of graphics coming becuase if the ps4 is more powerful…there games will look better then even that game. Graphics should be the next Big Fix! i will not be playing a normal looking game on a next gen system…its just not gonna happen.

    • Nick Peck

MS can only control their studios and nothing more. MS has shown how good the games can be and look, but it’s up to the 3rd party dev’s to push to make the games what they are. Forza 5 is 1080p/60fps native and it runs fantastic, why aren’t the 3rd parties able to do the same?

Just give it time, once the dev’s learn the system better we will see better results. But like I have been saying for awhile, does 720p/900p make the games less fun? Nope, not at all. Everything works and runs just as good. There is a firmware update for the controllers, updates to the dev kits and video card drivers coming. MS is working hard and they have proven themselves to be serious, at least imo.

In the meantime, stop worrying about #’s and enjoy the games that are out.

  • sibtrag

Enjoyed the slightly techie stuff about Titanfall servers.

  • GunOwner

Loved playing the beta!! Awesome game and pumped for it to come out…however not being able to use the full ability of my Astro A50’s because DD was dropped from the optical out has me a little pissed and i kept finding post back when the X1 was release that it was coming “soon” but yet haven’t seen a status update sense….

    • Nick Peck

It’s coming. Trust me, I have the Polk N1 surroundbar with a 10″ Polk Sub and not being able to use the DD via optical drives me nuts, but hopefully it will be coming soon.
