Behind the Scenes of "MOB OF THE DEAD"
Here’s an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Mob of the Dead, originally aired during the live Call of Duty championship finals broadcast on Xbox LIVE and is part of the Call of Duty Black Ops 2 ‘”Uprising” Map Pack.
"Uprising" features four diverse multiplayer maps, and Mob of the Dead, Treyarch’s most terrifying Zombies experience to date. Hollywood talent rounds out a cast of Prohibition-era gangsters — forced to fend off hordes of zombies while imprisoned on San Francisco’s notorious Alcatraz Island.
Uprising will be available April 16 first on Xbox LIVE.

The Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox, featuring a $1 million Call of Duty®: Black Ops II tournament, will take place in Hollywood, CA April 5-7. Beginning today, players interested in participating in the tournament can go to https://elite.callofduty.com/esports and register for a free Call of Duty Elite account – it takes just a few seconds. Once registered, teams of four can vie for entry into the Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox tournament by competing in the February season of League Play in Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Xbox LIVE®, which opens today. Following the close of the February season, the top eight eligible teams will earn coveted spots in the Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox, including a trip to Hollywood this April to compete for the $1 million tournament purse.
“It’s an absolute honor to have players and fans celebrate the thrill of competition on such a grand stage,” said Mark Lamia, Treyarch studio head. “From the very beginning of development for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, we committed to making eSports an integral part of the game, and it’s going to be awesome to watch the best teams in the world battle it out for everyone to see.”
Additionally, teams competing in the recently announced MLG 2013 Pro Circuit featuring Call of Duty: Black Ops II (www.majorleaguegaming.com) will vie for a chance to enter the Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox. At the MLG Winter Championship, March 15-17, in Dallas, Texas, the top eight teams will earn trips to Hollywood to play against the best Call of Duty players in the world. Joining them will be eight winning teams from the ESL’s European Finals (http://cod.esl.eu) taking place March 16-17, in the famous ESL Arena live eSports Studios in Cologne, Germany.
Remaining seats in the 32-team tournament will be made available internationally across Asia, Australia, and Brazil, with territory-specific qualification details to be revealed locally as they become available and at https://elite.callofduty.com/esports.

World premiere of COD: Black Ops II at Gamescom next week
If you are heading to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany next week you can be one of the first play the Call of Duty: Black Ops II Multiplayer before anyone else. Just head on over to Hall 6, booth A21/B30- A31/B30 and you can’t miss the massive multiplayer arena.
Can’t make it to Germany? No problem I’ll be there with AceyBongos for the live world premiere of Call of Duty: Black Ops II Multiplayer. We’ll be streaming live from the Call of Duty: Black Ops II booth at Gamescom, on Wednesday, August 15 at 6PM local time (9am PST, 12pm EST/5pm GMT). Our live multiplayer world premiere will feature interviews with Treyarch and feature live gameplay from the show floor. The Xbox LIVE broadcast will air in Europe, and North America (US and Canada). You can also catch the show on-demand afterward on Xbox LIVE, Xbox.com (Europe only), or CallofDuty.com.
I’ll update this post with links of the streams once we get closer to the show.

Elite Drop 1: Piazza Map This seaside Italian getaway is anything but idyllic, as tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates, and the team that best utilizes flanking routes will most often come out on top. Attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat. Keep up your awareness and don’t get taken by surprise. Elite Drop 2: Liberation Map A militarized Central Park stretches across a vast landscape, ripe for long-range sniper and LMG fire. Mounted turrets on either end lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower.
