Xbox Premieres “Crimson Dragon” and New Gameplay for “Dead Rising 3” at Tokyo Game Show

The following has just been posted on Xbox Wire:

Today at the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft showcased a first look at “Crimson Dragon,” the flight-based shooter from the creator of the critically acclaimed “Panzer Dragoon” series, and unveiled new gameplay for “Dead Rising 3,” the next blockbuster installment of Capcom’s award-winning zombie action series, coming exclusively to Xbox One on Nov. 22.

“Crimson Dragon” Takes To New Heights in Tokyo

Microsoft Studios, in partnership with Grounding and Land Ho! today unleashed new footage of “Crimson Dragon” for the first time at Tokyo Game Show. Created and directed by acclaimed developer Yukio Futatsugi (creator of “Panzer Dragoon”), the flight-based shooter features action-packed gameplay and a vibrant new user interface.

Launching exclusively for Xbox One for $19.99 (USD) on Nov. 22, “Crimson Dragon” enables you to harness a powerful dragon and take to the skies in this thrilling shooter where humanity has been driven to the brink of extinction on a planet ruled by dragons. It’s up to you and your friends to control the winged beasts as you battle for supremacy. Purchase and play “Crimson Dragon” before Dec. 31 and receive an exclusive dragon to help you rule the skies.

Capcom Showcases Co-op Multiplayer and Super-combo Weapons for “Dead Rising 3”

Microsoft and Capcom Vancouver enticed fans with a first look at co-op multiplayer and Super-combo weapons, a brand-new addition to the celebrated franchise.

In “Dead Rising 3’s” online co-op mode, you can take on the zombie horde with a friend over Xbox Live, with the ability to hop in or out of each other’s game at any time. When playing in a friend’s game, you’ll not only help them advance, but also contribute to your story progression and earn experience points that carry back into your own game. Any mission you finish in a friend’s game will also register as “complete” in yours, so you’ll never have to go back and replay a co-op mission to advance your single-player story, unless you want to experience it again.

Co-op players will assume the role of Dick, a wise-cracking trucker who sees the main character Nick Ramos as his best chance at getting out of the overrun city of Los Perdidos, and plays a key role in the “Dead Rising 3” story.

In addition to showcasing co-op, Capcom revealed Super-combo Weapons – a new tier of Combo Weapons that requires at least three components (and oftentimes multiple steps and blueprints) to craft, and features unique abilities that let you decimate crowds of zombies with devastating effect. Examples include the Ultimate Powershout, a deadly concussive horn made of traffic cones; the Ultimate Grim Reaper, a flaming scythe made of a katana sword, a scythe, a gas canister and a mask; and the Massive Bomb, a mini-nuke that obliterates every zombie in your vicinity – along with your clothes.

Not only are Super-combo Weapons ultra-powerful, but they can also be customized into a wide range of different variants with unique abilities. For example, the fan-favorite “Freedom Bear” from “Dead Rising 2,” a life-size stuffed bear turret armed with twin machine guns, can be customized into eight different variants in “Dead Rising 3” with modifications like grenade launchers, a push cart and a boombox lure to confuse the zombies. With hundreds of Combo and Super-combo Weapons, “Dead Rising 3” takes customization to the next level in the ultimate zombie sandbox and gives you and your friends a virtually limitless number of ways to fight back against the undead horde.

Xbox One at PAX Prime on August 30 – September 2

As you head to the Washington State Convention this week for PAX Prime 2013, be sure and stop by the Xbox Booths at #412, #422 and #432 for an great lineup of the latest and greatest games only Xbox One can offer.  Below is an overview of Xbox activities you’ll find exclusively at the Xbox booth this Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2.

The Games
Imagine sixty stations featuring the most dynamic and intense driving, fighting and shooting anywhere on the show floor, all in One place. Add in a stage featuring demos of “Dead Rising 3,” “Project Spark,” “Kinect Sports Rivals,” “Fable Anniversary” and a 7.1 surround sound “Forza Motorsport 5” racing rig. Need I say more.  The list of games you’ll find at the Xbox booth is below.

Ryse: Son of Rome: PAX Primers will be among the first to play “Ryse: Son of Rome’s” co-op multiplayer experience: Gladiator mode. Set in the Roman Colosseum, Gladiator mode plunges you into the brutal world of gladiatorial combat, where you fight cooperatively with your friends against an ever-changing array of enemies, to the roar of thousands of spectators.

Forza Motorsport 5:  North American fans will get their chance to go hands-on in the “Forza Motorsport 5” pits and experience this year’s biggest automotive journey starring the world’s greatest cars and tracks. This is your chance to experience the all-new physics engine and take one of the fastest cars in the world, the McLaren P1 on the fan-favorite Laguna Seca race track.

Battlefield 4: Known for their world-class multiplayer, DICE is bringing Battlefield 4’s epic 64-player battles, vehicular combat and all-out warfare to North American fans this week. Gamers will have a chance to go hands-on with the “Siege of Shanghai” beta launching in early October. With the release of Battlefield 4 this holiday, players will experience an all-new level of destruction and dynamic environments with a game-changing concept called Levolution, and for the first time for Battlefield console gamers, 64-players running at 60 frames-per-second on Xbox One. #BF4

Killer Instinct:  “Killer Instinct” is back again with classic characters, an enhanced combat system and vivid graphics – reimagined for a new generation on Xbox One. We expect nothing but the best from a title with a pedigree as one of the most beloved fighting games of all time.

And of course there will be other surprises at the booth, including games that I’m not at liberty to divulge . . . yet. Update: Titanfall and Lococycle are both playable on the show floor.

Now playing:
Friday through Monday, the Xbox booth will feature four marquee titles: “Dead Rising 3,” “Project Spark,” “Kinect Sports Rivals” and “Fable Anniversary.”

Dead Rising 3 – 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm

Kinect Sports Rivals:  We’re planning to make a big splash with the “Kinect Sports Rivals” demo, showcasing the Champion feature (where even I can look athletic) and a new sport made possible with the all-new Kinect technology – Wake Racing (where I don’t look athletic).

Dead Rising 3: The team from Capcom Vancouver is onsite to show fans a demo from the third installment in the blockbuster Dead Rising franchise, available exclusively this November for Xbox One. The demo will feature a special look at the huge variety of combo vehicles in the game like the devastating RollerHawg, a hybrid between a motorcycle and a steamroller that can be used to mow down every zombie in its path. Visit the Xbox booth to see all the zombie-killing fun in action, and pick up some fun audience giveaways.

Project Spark:  The darling of any industry insider, gamer, indie enthusiast, or recovering Minecrafter. “Project Spark” empowers creators to build, play, and share whatever they can imagine and create in the game. It’s simple, powerful, fun, and powered by a dynamic community for endless opportunities to play and create!

Fable Anniversary: “Fable Anniversary” is the spectacularly remastered version of the bestselling RPG on the Xbox, filled with new content including an updated interface, and achievements to bring the best “Fable” experience to the fans. Whether you’re a “Fable” fan old or new, you’ll be able to experience all the magic of the game that started it all on the show floor!
