Hey folks! Major has been kind enough to let me post on his blog once in a while so you might hear from me again soon if we’ve got something cool going on over here in Europe. Like, er, this!
I’m a big fan of Dead Rising 3 and zombies in general, so I talked to the UK Xbox team about an idea to give some people the ultimate DR3 experience. At the London Xbox One Tour event last month we built a fake VIP room, invited in some gamers, then gave them a zombie prank they’ll never forget. The results? Well, I’ll let them speak (or scream) for themselves… Enjoy!
With yesterday’s worldwide launch of Xbox One, you didn’t just jump ahead to the next generation of gaming – you’ve also entered into a new NFL Football viewing experience. The NFL on Xbox One combines live games, highlights, stats and your fantasy team together on the biggest, best screen in the house — your TV.
During a recent game, I put the final app through its paces – here’s what you can expect to experience beginning this weekend:
The NFL on Xbox One is now available.
Note: The NFL on Xbox One, including NFL.com Fantasy Football, requires advanced TV hardware, broadband Internet, Xbox Live Gold membership (sold separately) and an account on NFL.com. Additional subscriptions and/or requirements apply for some features, including NFL Red Zone. See www.xbox.com for details.
If you missed it, here is the archive.
Today three major entertainment apps are now available for Xbox LIVE Gold members – Comcast XFINITY TV, HBO GO and MLB.TV, all with Kinect integration. Here are the highlights.
Comcast launched the XFINITY TV on-demand service on Xbox 360, bringing its huge library of when- you-want-it entertainment to a console for the first time, including the new Streampix library. With Kinect, you can control it all with your voice or a wave of your hand – however you like
HBO GO on Xbox 360 launched their entire catalogue of live and on demand original content – that means every episode of every show, from the latest hits like Game of Thrones, to older favorites like The Sopranos. With Kinect, you can voice search the entire HBO catalogue.
MLB.TV transforms sports entertainment by providing live and on demand games in HD, coupled with exclusive personalization features only found on Xbox 360 – jump between the action via the Mini Guide and watch two games at once with Split Screen. With Kinect, you can pause and rewind live games and highlights using just your voice and motion controls.
So there you have it, a huge day for TV on Xbox – starting today Xbox LIVE Gold members who subscribe to Comcast’s XFINITY TV and Internet, HBO and/or MLB TV now also have enhanced access on Xbox 360.
Last night, e, lollip0p and I hosted a G+ Hangout On Air. Stephen Toulouse and Dan Amrich dropped by as well.
In case you missed it, here is the archive of the hour and eighteen minutes
Note: There was a technical problem early on in the show where I (the host) was dropped. This happens from 1:47 until about 2:25. So enjoy the 38 seconds of silence.
Here are some of the things we mention during the show:

Tomorrow will see the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. In addition the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Console we announced earlier this year will also go on sale. If you really want to get in the mood, I’ve posted the custom sounds that the console makes. Here are the .WAV files of they what they sound like: power on/off and disk tray eject. Feel free to download them for your personal, non-commercial use. They make great alert tones.
I posted this some time ago, but when I moved my blog earlier this year, a few things got lost in the shuffle..namely the post that pointed to this file. So back by popular demand…the sound that has been heard multiple millions of times around the world of as Xbox 360 Gamers run up their Gamerscore: The Achievement Unlocked sound. These audio files were created directly from the master file – so they don’t get any better than this.
Right click and choose ‘Save as’ (or something similar) to save this to your local computer. Grab the flavor that suits you the best (I have posted two versions of the same file.)
I know that you’ll use it for a ring tone, but what are some of the other creative ways do you plan to use this?
This is for non-commercial, personal use only
