The difficulty, has nothing to do with the crappy controls of the d-pad or analog stick. It's just terrible programming.

P.S. I really hope it's the game, cause that would be super weak if the 360 couldn't handle controller inputs that SF2 has had from like the late 90's...ouch.

I must say, it was fun for about two seconds when I adjusted the button layout to my liking and turned up the difficulty to max stars. Then, after playing a couple rounds, the nightmares of the crappy @$$ controls of the d-pad.

Ok, no problem I thought, switching to the analog stick should be okay. Still crappy. I'm Bummed.

re: Arcade: Street Fighter II

God it realy does not hold up. pass

re: Arcade: Street Fighter II

First of all its hard to play on the 360 d-Pad. Second the online play is laggy. Third WTF happened to quarter mode. 4 max players that is a joke. And most of the time you can't even see the match that's going on when you're waiting in line. I think they should have left the online out and charged 400 MP.

This is an ARCADE port not an SNES port. MORONS.

Also, to the people complaining about the graphics...what did you expect from a fifteen year old retro game? Dead or Alive graphics? Idiots. These are RETRO games being released in the XBLA so they want to keep the retro feel to them and not change what made these games LEGENDARY and still fun to play fifteen years later. Doubt anybody will be playing 95% of games released on PS2 or 360 fifteen years from now.

Lastly, there are definately some faults with this game. Getting dropped from lobbies after host switches..btw..why can't their be just 1 host instead of switching out host every time someone new wins is beyond me. The last gripe is with people disconnecting when they lost and there not being a penalty for it and the 360 controller is not great for this type of game...but for an XBLA retro release...I'm happy with it...will def look forward to some type of patch for multiplayer though.

re: Arcade: Street Fighter II

Wow! I'm not sure why people are complaining about the difficulty. SF II was hard. SF II Championship was a little harder, but had better AI and some of the "turtling" strategies removed. SF II:HF was very hard. That's why this game is hard. It was intended as a faster and more difficult version of Championship Edition.

re: Arcade: Street Fighter II

Hmmm... well, I am disappointed that the 360 controller doesn't work well with the game (depressingly, the analog stick works better than the d-pad), but otherwise, it's about what I expected. I'll try lowering the difficulty; barely beat Ryu on default difficulty.

Haven't tried online yet, so we'll see how that goes later.

As for people complaining about the graphics and such, please realize that it is a 15 year old game! This isn't gonna be some high-quality Capcom game made a year or two ago; this is meant to be the beginning of the beginning, and that's exactly what it is.

re: Arcade: Street Fighter II

have to say this port sucks. i was really looking forward to a highly polished suberb port.

The main problem I think is the controller. The 360 controller is very good, but SF2 is one of those games where, if it is not just right the whole game suffers.

So there you have it, the controller kills the game.

Also, what the f is high def about this game?
