They marketed to us, The Gaming Masses to get us prepared to upgrade to a next generation and then they pulled the rug out from under us with excuses after the release.

Project Gotham Racing 2 had a lot of cars. These new packs we have to pay for have some of the same cars.

Nobody cares about 400 crappy working games when your entire greatest hits library is now defunct.

On top of that I had to pay $50 to get an extended warranty when almost everything I buy has a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer. Microsoft - You guys are ridiculous.

Stop playing games with the consumers pocket book. I don't care if I can still play my XBOX. I paid for the XB360 under the 'Good Faith' that Microsoft would provide what they promised as stated. And its just not happening.

re: August '06 Back Compat Update

I commend you guys on the work that you are doing. Emulation isn't easy. I actually have a question. I noticed that Magatama is on the list. I'm suprised, was the game ever released in the US or is this a import playable on the 360 due to Xbox emulation? I ask because I am interested in buying this game and I'm curious about if I need to import it or not. And if it was a limited release in the US is it currently out of print.

Thanks

re: August '06 Back Compat Update

I read an article a while back that the BC team were saying that some games that are undesired or a weird choice like Barbie come about with the fact that it uses a similar engine or technology to another game that is being coded for the 360. If this is true then since quite alot of games are based on Criteron's Renderware engine that should mean that the entire Burnout series as well as others like Oddworld should have worked when they ported the GTA games a while back which all used Renderware. I am sure games like FIFA yearly use the same engine and PES 4 & 5 should be quite similar. It seems strange to me that burnout takedown should work when revenge which is practically identical does not.Of course it did have an offical 360 version(hmmm). This is the same with Tomb Raider Legends that came out on XBOX1 and 360 at the same time (but with a £10 price difference), only the more expencive version works.

US xbox games on European 360?

Does anyone know if that will work?

Don't announce BC if you're going to arbitrarily choose games. Is it a smart business move for MS? Yes because they want to force people to get a 360 and buy the new releases of a game, no matter how much they suck when compared to the older ones.

One reason the PS2 was so successful was its awesome BC.

For the people constantly pointing out they have their old X-box so who cares:

You only have so much room for consoles, cable boxes, DVD players, stereo systems, etc. The 360 is huge enough as it is, let alone trying to add that monstrosoity that is the regular X-box console.

If there was a slim X-box than I'd say you have a point (since my PS2 slim can fit pretty much in any space no problem). But there isn't.

Good job Zaiten!

re: August '06 Back Compat Update

no EA sports BC yet.....wtf?

re: August '06 Back Compat Update

So called "backwards compatibility" is a joke.
