Pity its not HD, but then 400mb+ for Standard Def means the HD file size would be huge. Time for bigger hard drives or a quick an easy way to move files off to my pc.

You can get a 350MB video of it in stunning quality if you look around, and thats what gets me, i got the 350MB video and watched it on my TV through Media Center and it looked/sounded superb, unlike this where everything is blurred and the voices sound horrible, BSG has some beautiful CG and i really hope people don't look at this and think it's crap because it's not, even as a big fan of the show i couldn't bare watching the video from marketplace, it was terrible.

Nice idea but can't download as live in the UK. Standard def would also look horrid on my plasma.

However, could episodes not be chopped into a series of chunks (and I'm not talking torrents) at 720p that you download over the course of a week?

That would be less load on bandwidth and give you something cool to look forward to at the end of the week.

You'd see a five - ten minute section each day then watch the whole lot in one go.

Also give more for the kids to watch. Cartoons for kids. yu-gi-oh, yu-gi-oh gx, Carebears, Sonic-x, Winx, Ninja turtles, alladin, Scooby doo, and there is more. With all that parental control there is almost nothing for kids to watch on the 360. And now for the adults. the TV shows wishlist: BSG, Stargate, Startrek Enterprise, Lost, The 4400, Taken (from steven spielburg), The nanny, Charmed, Buffy the vampire slayer, Angel, The A team, The Addams family (normal or classic), some holiday shows And for movie on demand wishlist (if coming): Dawn of the dead (not the 2005 version) Return of the living dead 1,2,3. Pulpfiction. Mission impossible 1&2 resident evil 1&2 Constantine The Cube 1&2 six sense IT 1&2 (Horror movie) princes diaries 1&2 Mad Max. Toy Story. ect.. Some holiday movies: Nightmare before christmas A christmas wish, ect.. Some comedy movies: Ace ventura american pie 1&2 Shoutpark the movie. jack ass the movie. Bruce allmighty. The Flintstones. ect.. There is enough too write up, but a short list of what is possible. With so much options its to bad if it isn't used as a extra service.

i dont think its a one of because weve already sevreal tv shows on marketplace my dutch acccont has:pimp my ride cribs southpark all in english and a dutch show called moccah my amercian accont has BS galactica and viva pinatat tv show so why would microsoft just want to stop now when they plan on having movies for download in 2008

I wouldn't mind the low res files so much if the video was centered. Unfortunately it's not centered, it's at the top, so when I try to zoom in using my tv it cuts off the top and has the black bar still at the bottom. Who encoded this? If you can't offer 720p could you at least encode it so that I can zoom in and have it fill my screen that way?

I wonder if MS are doing talks with BskyB about getting some HD movies and shows for sky tv customers direct to their 360s, on demand.

Now that would be insanely awesome. :D

But the BSG episodes are a good start.

what do you mean licence? In the Internet I can download movies from all over the world. no matter in what country I am. Why does microsoft make such problems. Make things downloadable and everyone who likes it can download. Where is the problem. Anyway, gonna make a US account to get rid of this problems once and for all.

I DEMAND ST:TNG. OK so it may involve 10 minutes of inserted advertising for various ST items, including a preview of the CGI remake of ST:O. Unless... a 180 points is about the same you'd get three episodes from the video store. Apparently Kaz Hirai was singing "Start me up" on the way to work last week.

I hope Microsoft continues to add TV shows that we can download for free. Would be a great addition to XBOX Live and could be used as a marketing ploy to get more member to subscribe to the Gold service (that is only if they are available to gold members). I have a feeling this will eventually turn into a service like iTunes where we will have to purchase these shows with Microsoft points, but I'm hoping it does not. This will once again lead to the fact that larger hard drives are going to need to be implemented in the near future to keep up with all the content loads. I do have to say I'm quite impressed with the way XBOX Live is going. Keep it up!

Have to agree with the other comments regarding the poor quality, I was quite surprised this passed quality control and I have a standard definition television. I can only imagine how terrible it looked on a HDTV. What's interesting is that this was 490MB and yet the other one out on the internet is 350MB and it's twice the video & sound quality. Major, for the Marketplace videos, do you know if it is the content provider that does the encoding or Microsoft?
