Been waiting to commercialize HD movies via the net for a long time. And of course this is U.S only :P How about working on some licensing really hard and get the content worldwide? You got the system ready and people will probably be downloading stuff elsewhere, before there is a place you can buy tv-shows from, so whoever's loss that is, is up to the rest of you to determine. Whoever's gonna be first on this market, (with an actual working system & selection) are gonna be rich.

To be clear we got our own tv shows and movies here in the netherlands, and of course the movies that where made in the u.s. and elsewhere.

Every country can fill up the marketplace with movies and there own shows in there own language.

We got servral 1000+ movies that are dutch.

and shows that are dutch. But there are also movies that are older and aproved for viewing.

So that means that we can get movies that where made between 1990/2005 that means we can get the matrix 1,2 and 3, spiderman, catwoman, dawn of the dead, night of the living dead, ect.. Here in the netherlands with subtiltles in dutch off course

I still consider it abuse. We're being charged for shows that aired for free. I guarantee you they're not offereing it as a "service" to users. They're offering to make a buck. The idea came as a result of a meeting where people sat down and said "What else can we put out on the Marketplace and charge $$ for". The Marketplace has turned into spam. We're being flooded daily with new items for sale on the Marketplace. It's to the point where I don't even go into Marketplace anymore. Using your logic, it is perfectly fine to send spam e-mails because you're not forced to buy anything. The Marketplace started out good, but has taken a very bad turn.

Over $65 for Lost (for example).

If people from Canada are wondering why it isn't available to us, it is because our governement has some stupid copyright laws that don't allow us to have stuff like this.

Its the same with iTunes how Americans can buy TV Show Episodes and Movies, whereas Canada has no luck again and doesn't have these features.

Anyways, for people who want to know how much the videos will probably cost, I have listed them below.

HD Movies - 480 Microsoft Points ($6 USD)

SD Movies - 320 Microsoft Points ($4 USD)

TV Shows - 240 Microsoft Points per Episode ($3 USD)

The files sizes for SD Movies will be about 1.2 GB while the HD Movies will be at a whopping 4.7 GB.

Ok, this is my first time posting but I've been waiting for this annoucement since I got my 360. This is HUGE.

I'm sure this has already been said (I can't read all these comments) but BATTLESTAR GALACTICA IN HD PLEASE. If you guys pull this off, PS3 might as well be vaporware as far as I'm concerned. Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't be silly and exclude Canada. It's not like everyone in Canada can't already download these shows for free off bittorrent. If you release them in HD at the same time in Canada as in the U.S. I'd have no reason to download them "illegally". Then the content creators make more money, Microsoft makes more money, I'm happy, we're all happy. Makes sense right? Make it happen Major, this kind of stuff is why we are loyal to 360.

I can sorta see how over-seas countries might not get this at all or right away but, why not in Canada? Its really sucks especialy when the majority of our television is american anyways. And I can also understand how in situations like when verizon sponsored for points or whatever and we didnt get it..fine..we dont have verizon. but this seems to be way bigger then just some free points and gold time, this is a major feature for the console, how can they leave so many people out of this?

As a xbox loyalist, these are only questions I ponder. I have faith in MS that the right thing will be done at some point, maybe im bein naive, I guess we'll see when more details emerge and if it will be US-only forever.:(
