I agree, just bring the old firmware back. Not to mention that people who have gold accounts are getting screwed too, since it's either lose live access we've already paid for or download a defective update

my system has been bricked twice because of these updates. im about to demand a new system all together. ive been without a 360 for almost a month now

Gents, I'm getting my brand new 360 for the first time on Friday. Did MS remove this update so us newbies don't get the plague when we go online?

I just can't believe we don't have the most obvious of solutions here. Give me my old firmware back! That really seems like a step that has to occur before sending a machine in to repair.

Only possible reason to not give it to me is to avoid acknowledging that the new firmware broke the box.

Still nothing from the Major I see. Guess Microsoft won't let him admit that there's a problem with the update. Just talked to another supervisor at 1-800-4-MY-OUTSOURCE about my WiFi adaptor and I have to wait till I get my console back to check this issue out. Guess that means 2 more months without live. Of course he also went out of his way to tell me that it wasn't the update that bricked my console, I just told him not to insult my intelligence and also told him I understood he couldn't abmit that the update is doing what it is doing for legal reasons.

You mean you've tried your adaptor on a machine that hasn't yet applied the Fall Update and it still doesn't work? Sorry for being specific, just trying to clarify...

Which leads me to a second point...while waiting for a fix, I think its completely ridiculous that I have no way of returning my machine to its original firmware...I absolutely loved my pre-fall update machine, and I want it back.

This error is unrecoverable for me because it destroyed my WiFi adaptor.

Why is everyone assuming this error is unrecoverable? Yes, it'll take a lot of complaining to get MS to get a new patch out there, but why does everyone believe their hardware is actually fried?

To me, a software patch came out, and now the software is locking up. Where's the hardware failure that requires sending in to MS?

Same here. After 11/30 update, mine feezes up everytime. It did not even get past the menu of GOW. Reset to start same thing happens everytime. Sometime I even get the ring of death.

My console went wack after the update. I am using the VGA cable with a 32 inch Westinghouse on 1360 x 768 and the screen shifted way off to the right.

It appears that because of the update my Xbox wants to default to 1280x768 instead of 1360, or at least that is what my TV is telling me.

Luckily I can kind of "reset" the resolution so I can get it to standard def, then switch back to 1360x768 and it looks good again until it goes into sleep mode, and then it gets effed again.

I think that Laura Foy song, "Bringing Xbox Back" was not about bringing Xbox back into the limelight, but rather her bringing her bricked Xbox back to the store cuz the update screwed it up.
