i think 07 will be an awsome year with forza 2 halo3 GTA 4 on the first day plus many arcade games more conventions like CES coming next week ITS THE YEAR OF THE 360

Duh... blah. I've been around for quite awhile. How about you check out how many XBLA games I actually own. A ton, I've spent my fair share.

We all know Microsoft has a bunch of games in the "hopper" yet we got a rehash retro title for Christmas and nothing this week, not even a "Oops... we did it again".

I am not the only one asking for a little XBLA love, but I guess most people have resigned themselves to the fact that MS doesn't really care about XBLA. I say this because actions speak louder than words; we've gotten neither after the "flood" before the holidays.

I know, it's been said before, but Nintendo at the very least is taking an active roll in announcing titles. Sure they're all "rehashes" but there are some gems like Gunstar Heroes, R-Type, etc. My point? They have an official forum for "Virtual Console" where an official employee announces the games on the weekend prior to release. Notice I said "games"; at least two per week have been released since Nov. 27th.

I know you're just one guy Major, I appreciate all that you've done for the community and I think your role inside Microsoft is very important. You are te community sounding board due to this blog. I would like to see a more active role come out of SilverSurfer's (Greg) unit however; where someone actually posts about upcoming XBLA titles, why we get retro rehashes instead of original games, why the Marble Blast update was scrapped, etc.

So, again, I will go without for another week and hope that I hear something about a new, exciting game for my favorite platform and distribution model.

Ok I read the rest of your post and it was kind of hard to understand but this is where I draw the line. If you connect your Zune to the usb port then it wont be Wireless. Nor would it use wifi. Oh geez.

I predict that Nintendo makes a game starring dust bunnies and their collection (kind of like pokemon), cuz thats all my Wii is doing. And I seriously hope you guys complaining about no arcade game for one Wednesday are the same people that complain every week, otherwise you guys are lame.

Here's what I predicted on Ozymandias' site--which, avoiding Xbox issues--he decided to ignore:

"HDD ... Xbox 360 Core will be dropped and replaced with "Platinum," a silver Xbox 360 with a larger HDD.

"Larger HDD will also be sold separately for too much money. Eager first-adopters (like me) will happily snap them up anyway.

"64MB Memory Units will slowly disappear after 256MB MU's hit the shelves. Microsoft will attempt to quietly lift the 50MB limitation on Xbox Live Arcade titles in favor of a non-publicized higher limit. Blogosphere brings much unwanted attention to this change. Subsequently humans, droids, and ewoks selebrate together with bongos in treetops."

As for non-Xbox predictions:

DS continues to dominate hand-held sales. Microsoft stays out of the mix (except to farm out Rare to Nintendo for a DS re-make of "Diddy Kong Racing") and watches the PSP sink slowly into the toilet.

UMD movies have a slight resurgence due to widespread sales and price-cuts, but they eventually disappear from most retailers' shelves. Sony's last great UMD movie offering: "Spider-man 3"

PS3 dominates early Japanese console sales, but Wii quickly catches up and takes over the Japanese market due to its affordability and availability.

Xbox 360 continues to lead in the US and Europe with the best market penetration, though it falls behind in sales. Wii will sell the most units in the US during the first half of 2007, PS3 will own the second half. In Europe, Xbox 360 stays strong, but gets stiff competition from Wii. PS3 stays in third place all year long in Europe.

Wii sales will start to slow down in Septermber as the novelty wears off, but will pick back up in late October on the strength of Nintendo's first-party offerings. Still, questions about Wii's longevity will be asked countless times on the blogosphere.
