Whoa. I really hope they ran that trailer through some kind of soft-focus filter, because if the actual game looks that soft and blurry it'll be a huge disappointment.

I saw the trailer online, I heard that you'll be able to join races with over 100 players, but only the players near you in the race will be displayed on your screen. Could be a very interesting game!

I can confirm that all of this is in-game footage. Some is replay footage, some has the camera at a weird angle, and so on, but it's all rendered with the in-game engine - the in-game graphics really do look this good.

How do I know? A guy from Codemasters came to our university yesterday and showed off this trailer, and we grilled him on it. He showed us a video of the target render, too - they've hit it bang on.

Yeah, it is FMV. But I've been told differently: in-game graphics are quite similar to what is shown there in the video.

If you have a 1080p capable tv then get the VGA cable which allows you to view your games in 1080p.

IIPegLegII, it's a rally game...2 or more cars on narrow country tracks don't really fit, and don't really make for a good experince IMO.

I take your point abou the P2P races...and must admit I'm a little confused...but don't think it's that big a deal.

There are plenty of other quality racers that have "full" multiplayer.

There should be a disclaimer (or shall I say a warning) at the beginning of this trailer that reads as such: "The following game contains cutting edge graphics, next-gen physics, a stella array of gameplay modes, and the online support of a SNES game". That way people won't jump out their windows when they get this game home and realize that they just paid $59 for a game that they can't even play online with their freinds!

If you haven't gamed since 1996, then this game should have everything to make you completely stoked. Unfortunately for the rest of us who sorta expect online racing, theres not going to be any, with the exception of a glorified leaderboard where you can compare race times with other racers. And that wouldn't even be terrible if it were a rally game only (since thats how they run rallies), but this game has other game modes (trucks, buggies, etc) which are pVp modes.

What a let down! Awesome looking game to be flushed down the toilet like this because they couldn't catch up with technology that has been the norm for half a decade now (not to mention, it has been a feature in Codemasters previous CMR rally racing games).

Unacceptable.

Hi Major,

Can you explain why I have been banned from the forums for 2 months simply because I don't agree with the XBOX 360 ELITE System?

I have a 360 Premium which I love, a PS3 which I love and a Wii which again I love. I'm not a fanboy in the slightest. I just don't agree with upgrading a console with technologies previous versions cannot adopt.

Fiat 131 Abarth confirmed !!! Now that's a real rally car ;)

Any journos that have played this game have had nothing but high praise for it so far - lets hope it's the first of many great Rally games on 360.

On that note, we need some information on Sega Rally ! I'm starting to worry about the complete lack of it thus far.

And a Rallisport 3 announcement would be extra nice, although I know it's unlikely since EA bought Dice...
