To be honest there are some niffty features with this update, however i have noticed that most of them are a little underwhelming.

i own all 3 next gen consoles including PS3 And wii, i love my 360 and at the moment it ismy main gaming console, the wii comesout when we have guests, Now i always thought that the 360 would have the PS3 Bent over , and to some extent it does the controler is amazaing the chat and freindslist feature is great i hate not being able to join my freinds easily, PS3 HAS GROUP CHAT A STORE THAT IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE MARKET PLACE. minus video martketplace, But since i live in the uk that means nothing to me. the browser on the PS3 is fanominal, The Dash on the ps3 as bugs but the features that are being added at the moment seem to be getting stolen from wii and ps3, the NEW channel layout in the market place looks exactly like the dash on the wii. and the new game discription that is in the tray is very much part of the PS3. IF you would have given us a browser we would have had messenger already through the use of webmessenger. i have Linux now installed on my PS3 that as now become my media up i can stream any movie across to it i can download from anysite (no restrictions) overall the PS3 is a better all rounder with far more ambition than the 360 as soon as some body makes a version of linux thats only purpose is for the ps3 microsoft can give up the goat, I LOVE MY 360 MORE THAN ANYTHING, AND IT MAKES ME CRY TO THINK THAT ALL YOU ARE INTERESTED IN IS PROVIDING FOR THE U.S i paid the same money nay more for my 360 than they do i pay more for my subscription to live, and get no thanks for it.

you give us a browser xvid and divx support and you will see that your sales will continue you grow you don't and the ps3 will catch up to you 12 month head start very rapidly

this isn't me being a PS3 FANBOY , i love my 360 at the moment still the best gaming console but thats where it ends unfortunatly

Multi-way chat, I'm not sure about that. Have you heard about them doing that?

There are some games that this would actually hinder the game play.

For example:

In Chromehounds, you can't speak to you squad until you secure "communication towers". These communication towers are huge strategic resources. If you could simply do a multichat with your squad...then these towers would be practically useless.

Anyway - it's just a thought.

Nice read, but no news about more VGA resolution support (1680x1050 in my case) and more aspect ratios. I would also like to see more updates in regards to backwords compatible games, like seeing your friends list and actually rendering the games in high definition instead of just upscaling them (I'm sure the hardware is up to the task for this one). Thanks for keeping us in the loop Major, great job.

Will the keyboard update finally allow us to search for music by typing letters? Also, will it work with the Media Center? These were my two pet peeves.. i.e. having to use the controller..

Keep up the good work folks!!! Really really looking forward to some of these changes!

Would still love to see the ability to fast forward and rewind music.... even if its the player that's on the dash (not the guide) at the least...

Top features, top to bottom:

1. GROUPCHAT (VOICE)

2. Native 16:10 resolution

3. Fast forward/rewind when playing audio/video

4. Increased backwards compatibility

5. Ability to clear out the achivements, specially the arcade achivements

6. Webbrowser..

And business at the dashboard developer center goes on bugging and denying users access to the most of basic features...

Please devs, get a grip and listen to your customers for once. Remember that it is we who is paying for your socalled service...

Good Update, im happy with it. Handy achievement upgrade that. Can i still go in the guide quickly and see my achievement if i wish? Kinda liked that moment of suprise witch achievement i unlocked ;)

Does this mean that perhaps our friends will be able to see which BC game we're playing?

I would really like to see more dash functionality with BC games. I know music would be an issue, but things like checking your friends list and seeing what others are doing shouldn't be that much of a problem right? If it's not possible right now (I haven't tried yet), downloading while playing a BC game would be nice too.

But I do think that everything besides music should be on there. Considering we can bring it up, I can't see why not.

Generally, I would just like to see more 360-like integration with BC games. Even things like tieing games to your profile and god forbid saving original games to a 360 memory card. Even though it requires the hdd, there should still be a way to transfer those files between consoles.
