Bungie said the maps would work for most people on Sunday or Monday. Its Monday night and I still thet the same installation error as everyone else. I'm not paying for this. I'm going to call Visa and cancel the transaction. Its only $4 but why should M$ get anything when I've gotten nothing. Messing with their cash is the only way they're going to learn.

on original xbox - no problem with credit card, still getting installation failed tried many many times. Cant delete or find any corrupt file and I have been charged ...what now?

Looks like I'm in the same boat as most of you.

I had no problem getting the purchase to go through, but the download fails every time.

I would love to see a REAL solution for this problem very soon.

looks like I've joined the club of having problems downloading. there wasn't a problem charging my credit card though, that worked ont eh first try, but I also keep getting "Installation of content failed. See www.xbox.com for more support information." every goddamn time I try to download.

I've tried every single thing people have suggested, from logging out at the dashboard, and using halo 2 to log into live, to hitting a and x alternating as I try to download. I've attempted download over 20 times now, adn get the error message every single time.

come on, MS or bungie, get your *** toegether.

Just going to throw my little bit of wisdom out there... From experiance with this mappack purchase, you need to actually go into your account management and look at your credit card info in your actual dashboard. Adding your credit card info through xbox.com alone without going and looking at it afterwards on your 36o will result in halo2 saying "Purchase Failed, Please try again later". With that being said, even after I actually got the purchase to suceed it started giving me "installation failed" messages, however, if you simply keep retrying to download them, over and over, it will go it took me 4 redownload attempted to be exact. If this helps anyone, great, if not sorry for taking up room :).

I purchased the maps, and it told me the purchase was successful - but there was no indication that they actually downloaded to my 360. No download indicator or anything of the sort.

So, after reading post after post, I realized PART of my blunder. As these maps are original Xbox files, they are "tied to my console." Okay, I'm cool with that. In fact, I don't really even care if I have to pay for them again! What I am not "cool with" is that I still can't download the maps on my 360.

So, in another act of futility, I deleted all the map packs that were downloaded on my 360, including the game save, in hopes that this might help "reset" the downloads. Well, it did. But, and this is when I just started laughing, I can't download ALL of the map packs, only the oldest two. Want to know what my error message for the Killtacular (4-pack) is? The same thing as the Blastacular map pack. Hmmm...seems it can't be that "server issue" Xbox Support keeps telling us, as I'm pretty sure there aren't thousands of people trying to download year-old maps. And again, see above post where the newest maps downloaded on first try on my original Xbox.

...still waiting official help/response.

Same thing happened to me. I bought the maps and received confirmation of my purchase, but the maps will not download. Amazing how Microsoft can charge my account so quickly but cannot deliver the goods I paid for.

Ready for this one? Okay, couldn't download the new maps on my 360..."installation of content failed..." So, I call Xbox Support - they say wait a while and try again. Keep in mind that it still says "purchased" under the image on the right. So, after two more days of d*cking around, I decide to pull out the big guns...I took my original Xbox and hooked it back up the the hub and tried to download them on the original Xbox. Hmm, much to my surprise, it asked me if I wanted to purchase the maps. I figured that the original purchase didn't go through (even though it still said purchased on my 360) so I hit "purchase" and, lo and behold, it downloaded on the first try!!! Great, I thought, maybe the problem was just with the purchase part and now that they are actually paid for, I'll be able to download them onto my 360.

..........nope.

Hey, Major! What's going on with this issue? What is M$'s official position? Somebody say something, PLEASE!!!

Oh, BTW. The Halo 2 Downloader says I have purchased the Blastacular Pack, but I have yet to receive a confirmation e-mail.

I just tried to re-download the Maptacular Pack to see if it was the Blastacular Pack or something else. I was able to re-download it.

Why isn't the Maptacular Pack working even after all this time? I'm normally a pretty patient person, but this is a crock.

I couldn't download the Maptacular pack either until I tried this method I found on the Xbox forums:

1. Start your 360 with no disc inside.

2. Sign OUT of your xbox live account.

3. Put the Halo 2 disc in.

4. Sign IN as usual through Halo 2.

5. Download the map pack as usual.
