The wheel is much smoother then with PGR3. It feels way more natural. The engine sounds are great, some of the best I've heard. I'm not sure I miss it but there isn't a in car view like in PGR3. I didn't use it anyway,I'm just a little surprised that it's not there. I'd also like a better way to get in to reverse. A couple of times when I was down shifting I put in to reverse by mistake. That was a drag Side note and I don't know if this happed to anyone else.. but...The demo locked up on me a bunch of times. Over all I'm really looking forward to the game.

So how have they managed to make Forza2 such a wet fish in the handling stakes?

#1- When you stand on the brakes in GT/PGR the view dips forward, accelerate hard and it dips back, giving an impression of g-force's acting on you as they would in the real world, steering left and right gives a good impression of the inertia of a car being thrown about. In Forza, the view remains almost flat, which detracts from the 'realistic' tag this game is being pushed with.

#2- The engine sound is almost hidden when you first play, and even after changing the volumes in the options the sound isn't raw enough. If you've got your foot to the floor in a race prepared Ferrari, it should sound like the end of the world is happening around you.

These two points detract from the realistic feeling of Forza, and rob it of any excitement. I only hope the full game will correct these issues, but i've a feeling i'll be waiting for PGR4/GT5 for more next gen driving sensations.

So there.

I just tried it with the wireless racing wheel from the in-car view, and it's really good.

I think I was initially put off by the graphics - there didn't seem to be as many graphical touches as in Forza 1.

I would personally sacrifice 30 of those 60 fps for more environmental effects - the one track that's there just looks a bit sterile.

But as a driving sim, yeah, it feels right, and it's working well with the wheel and pedals, and it's a lot more fun than I gave it credit for in this thread. Mea culpa.

re: Demo: Forza 2

The cars are covered with jaggies, one of the worst examples ive seen. On other forums people who dont see them have posted screenshots to prove, and the photos are covered with jaggies. Theres also a high ammount of video ringing too. The game plays well and i find the environments ok but the car models are bad.All the in game clips we were shown was of replays which proves the company did not want us to see real game footage. Slyly done. Its gone gold now so wont change.
Episode I: The Hedon Menace said:

"...most Fanboys would do that."

"If the shoe fits..."

Exactly. :D

You can't ignore the glaring graphics problems with the game. If graphics aren't as important to you as the feel and gameplay, that's fine... but on the other hand you can't say that Forza's got the "best graphics" etc etc because it certainly doesn't.

The developers posted that they had to reduce the AA to 2x in order to hit a solid 60fps. Beyond the aliasing problems, many of the sponsor textures on the cars are of low quality and the environment is very "flat".

I've been waiting for Forza since the day it was announced - and this is a disappointment. Instead of a pre-order I'll most likely rent it first so that I can see if the other features that round out the game (such as the tuning and online tournaments) will outweigh the graphics issue.

You are entitled to your minority opinion, no matter how off base it is.

This game, by most peoples opinion, is far from a disappointment. In fact, it's the best graphically, as well as physics, game play, visuals and more. Graphics are phenomenal.

Good luck in your own little world, you will have.
