I mean, to change history... it's gotta be like a time machine or something like that -- ya digg?

Enough with the complaining - just try to be more careful with your PR language..aye?

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

Ok wow.....

First off lets tackle the news

Why is this a major announcement and videogame history?

Well its not a major announcement. thats what ONE guy said it was. Sorry but one guy, was he even part of the live team?

What is important to note is that this is the first pac-man in 20+ years to not be forgetable. It maintains the play style and the fun factor of the original and Ms. Pac-man.

Doesnt matter if you agree or disagree... its not cool to come here and blame major nelson for the announcement. He just told you what you could learn on joystiq, kotaku, ign, gamespot or 1up.

On to point #2

Price:

its high. at 400 it would be a no brainer buy. Instead we have 800 points. Well get the demo, see if you like it. Buy it if you do. Dont if you dont. Thats how it works. No one is making you.

But its the principle:

are you serious? do you really think that some people may find $10 too much that they wont buy it. Do you really feel everyone that buys it is just a mindless zombie of microsofts? Seeriously some people get the system. We try and if we like, we buy. if not, we dont. Not everyone will agree that $10 is too much. some would say $5 for the original was a bargin.

Lastly:

to the guy who said "do you think if they put pac-man, ms. pac-man and CE on a dvd and sold it for $20 people would buy it".

YES. Id buy the original 2 pac-man and this CE for $20 on a disc in a case with a manual. Thats a bargin.

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

It's too bad, because it's actually a pretty good version of Pac Man. For 800 points, you should throw in the other two Pac Man games along with it, frankly. After the little 800 point Solitaire game, you've got quite a few people's patience wearing thin, MS. Many of your 360 users are here because they were disenfranchised users of another company's product. I mean, they don't stick around for the reliable hardware, now do they? Generally, I think the marketplace is really good, but once in a while you guys just do something totally f***ed up like charge $10 for a game that you've already sold to your community twice or that comes with your OS for friggin' FREE (Solitaire).

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

Kiax,

I agree. I wish prices of the DLC would drop after time. I doesn't look like this is the case though. One of the 1st pieces of DLC, The Horse Armor (which was a joke) is still the same price. Disappointing.

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

Major,

I'm not sure if you'll reply to this, but I have a question which I'm not sure if you have an answer for. You often refer to XBLA as a store. As a store when demand drops, price drops. I always thought it was odd that games that were on XBLA when it launched are still the exact same price. Compared to a year old sports game which is about 1/3 of the retail price when it launched. This is a pretty good example (I'm not saying drop the price now)....Alot of people that post here are cheap whining 8 year olds that don't get points on a regular basis. With retail games its nice to know if you kinda want the game but arent enthused about it, most people will simply wait a few months and get it when it drops in price. With all of the people in here saying they would atleast consider it at 400 points. Granted I Love paying 400 points compared to 800. It's just a shame to me (maybe im cheap too) that there are some games I Know I will never have simply because of the 800 point price tag. $10 isn't going to make my kids go hungry, but with games coming out week. There is NO reason for people to buy this at 800. When they can just wait a week and buy possibly 2 games. Long rant short. I think prices should drop after X amount of time on XBLA just like retail.

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

A big annoucement yeah, don't make me laugh.

I would pay 1 point for a 27 year old game.

Now where's my PC I can play proper games on.

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

The sad thing is a large portion of the sheep, er i mean community will buy this blindly. Just another nail in the coffin for me. My 360 will be on ebay soon if this trend keeps up.

Growing up with Pac-Man in the arcades and witnessing the evolution of games until now is something amazing. The fact that the creator is retiring and made new maps for the game that essentially brought arcade games to the masses is pretty big. I DID purchase it. I AM playing it. It IS better than many full priced games out on the market. I am sure a large percent of the people that claim this is just another version of a 27 year old game is well under 20 years old. But for people like me(33 yrs old) it is especially sweet. Thank you Namco and MS!

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

Wow, simply wow, 800 points? Good thing I don't use Live anymore, or I might be tempted to buy it /sarcasm

This is just one of the things that drew me off from Live. The major one was my 360 went dead, got a new one and I can't play my arcade games offline, thank you so much DRM. when I found that, from that day forward, I stopped downloading from marketplace, cut my Live subscription and started downloading every game I wanted. The sad thing is, I really loved my originals, I had 27 of them, but traded them all for cash at the store. If Microsoft screws it's customers, then it's only right that the customers screw them back. You won't see another dime from me until all the problems are solved, and when my 360 dies again (and it will die, sure enough), that's the end of that for me.

re: PAC-MAN Championship Edition

How utterly ridiculous that this is the 'big announcement'.
