Third-party exclusives are just another form of exclusive dealing that isn't allowed in most other business realms...It's bad for gamers because it's anti-competitive. I'd rather see 3rd party developers choose what platforms will be the most profitable for themselves and let Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo compete based on their hardware and their own software.

Honestly I think the biggest loss to Sony, at least in Japan is Dragon Quest.

Here's my opinion. FF stays on the PS3, at least 13 does. Games that are not easy million sellers, like Star Ocean, Grandia, Valkyrie Profile and others will probably go 360. Heck, Microsoft has Tri-Ace already working on a game for them, so it would be easy for them to go back to SquareEnix and say we want to do a Star Ocean over here.

And we still don't know where Kingdom Hearts is going, although my money says it Wii bound.

My opinion is online is what will win this war. Sony's offerings are slim.

Nintendo seems to be learning, but if what I hear about them not wanting a lot of online games this year is true, and Smash Brothers doesn't have online play when its released, then thay still don't have a clue. The VC is great, but companies want to do what they do on the Live Arcade and revamp and add online features.

That leaves Microsoft who is always adding features and pushing for more content. Some companies do great things with added content, Elder Scrolls, while others do stupid things like anything from EA.

Speaking of Elder Scrolls, hows this for exclusive. Wheres the Shivering Isles for the PS3 owners??

Wow! What a credible source! NOT! Come on Major. You are above such trolling speculation. This generation will be the multi-platform generation of console gaming. Very few third-party games will remain exclusive. This looks worse for the PS3 because they had more exclusives to lose, but ultimately MS and PS3 are affected equally.

Can we post some real news now?

Kudos to Photolysis. I love my 360 and wouldn't be against purchasing a PS3 but the price tag and the lack of anything I want to play is heeding my purchase.

Larry's little article is just a bunch of rehashed IGN,GameInformer,Engadget and whatever articles....It isn't news it just some irrelevant FANBOY on his broken soap box telling us things we already knew. What's next he's going to tell us 360 is getting HALO 3 as an MS exclusive :pfft: Thank You Larry and Major for posting info we already knew.

at e3 they better have an announcment of new 360 they dont over eat or free fitting on heatsinks or somthing, Itle change alot of peoples minds on how realible the console now is, and Also Snab final fantasy with a big xbox live feature to compete with home and uve won lol.

The article didn't exactly say anything new or surprising. Of all the lost PS3 exclusives I am probably most thankful for GTA 4. Knowing that would be available for the 360 was probably one of the key factors in my decision to get one last Xmas.

I think that Ken Kutaragi thought that the Sony first-party games would be good enough. Therefore he did not pursue exclusives from 3rd parties. His team decided to give gamers the illusion that all of these titles would be PS3 only for a while in order to promote hype for the system.

I believe that there have been a few articles where Sony people have mentioned that exclusives are not going to decide the outcome this time around. There are too many other factors in the game this time around.

I can't say for sure that "losing" these exclusives is really a bad thing. Sony does have a lot more high-profile first-part intellectual properties than Microsoft does. That's just the way it is now. MS has upped the ante on what they have to offer, but are still dependent mostly on third parties. Sony has built up a large amount of internal development studios.

I think that the article is true to form that Sony refused the exlucsives, but I also believe that the people at Sony did not feel that those were expenditures that they needed to put out at this time.

Since I have an Xbox, I am glad that I get the option to choose which system to play it on. So if one version is "better" than the other for some reason, I have the choice to go with the best version.

Ps3 is looking a better prospect now . At least the hardware is better .

Today is the second time i got the 3 red lights , its just so depressing this is happening.

With waits upto 5 weeks in the uk for repair this is just unacceptable.

As much as Final Fantasy XIII and MGS4 would be nice, I'd prefer that M$ throw as much money as possible at Namco to get an X360 version of Tekken 6. Virtua Fighter 5 and Soul Calibur 4 are both nice, but some Tekken action would be even nicer. ^_^
