Its an old game, Doom era. But it added a lot of things that Doom didnt have at the time (a real storyline, aiming up and down, platform jumping). It really is a fantastic game.

I played them to death first time round and to get them again for a modest amount of cash is great.

But. Add me to the list who can't play this becuase of motion sickness. This is the first game in 29 years of me playing games that has made me sick. I played for 15 mins and had to go and lie down becuase I suddenly felt like vomiting.

Can they not update this in some way to fix that?

re: Arcade: Marathon: Durandal

The levels do get better for sure. THe demo should not have ended after the first level. Also it should have showcased survival mode because it is freaking SWEET!

I don't get motion sick playing FPS games, and this one made me ill last night. The view port is far too small on an SD TV. Maybe in HD it's better?

I was sorely disappointed. I'd like to see Strife or Hexen or something like that, games built on the revised Doom engine that featured RPG-like storylines.

I seriously advise anyone to play the trial before you plunk down your 800 points blindly like I did, because this game has been SERIOUSLY over-hyped.

Sure they were good at the time, but why would I want to play this sort of stuff on a machine of the 360's capabilities? I end up downloading them and turning them off after 30 seconds. If something like Quake were to appear then I would certainly be interested, but so far the XBLA content has disappointed and 800 points is far too much to pay. XBLA needs to be exploited with some more worthy or original material.

Textures are too big, sprites are too big... But then, there are just a few sprites for all that´s going on the screen, and the turning movement is too fast, which makes some people to have headache. I would prefer the game as it was, not this.

You can´t just make all bigger and cleaner, and then leave 2 sprites per character, and get the turning so fast. It just ruins the game mechanics. I´m glad it wasn´t the same with Doom. I love when a game gets ported better, but not like this.

If the turning speed was lower, and the characters got more sprites, then probably it would have been a lot better. You can´t updgrade without updgrading it all. That´s my point of view anyways.

re: Arcade: Marathon: Durandal

dude this game gives me a headache
