I cant beleive this game continues to suck. It is very similar to last year's game, except the presentation is worse and the moves are harder to pull off. I really thought EA was going to polish things up this year and make more realistic movements of players and take out all the bugs that have been plaguing this series since NBA Live 99, such as the ice skating and running out of bounds and hitting the buttom of the hoop and back of the backboard, but I guess not this year. And they even somehow managed to make the presentation worse. Why couldn't they follow the steps of NHL series, which took a huge leap last year and totally redesigned the entire game to make it once again the best NHL game on the market? And then this year, they had time to polish the new engine and graphics and fix all the bugs, add a few little necessities, and have the best NHL game in history (as experienced in the demo).

In terms of basketball, NBA 2K7 was an outstanding game with just minimal bugs and a little bit too much CPU control (would miss open dunks to maintain the CPU-induced streaks, its like the computer knew 95% of the time who was going to win and controlled the game from there, though the better player did end up winning). If they fix those few bugs in 2K8, it too will be the best NBA game ever. And if they decide to polish graphics even more, add some more animations, and improve presentation, such as more in-depth, less repetetive half time show and commentating, it would be great as well.

I'm the worst person to give an opinion on a basketball game, but even this one was pretty boring. The 2K series seems to always be more fluid, with better controls and a better atmosphere. Live 08 is a LOT nicer looking and smoother than 07, but it still seems a little bit slow.

And yes, I second the motion to make someone give us an NHL 2K8 demo. I have a bad feeling that they don't want to, since EA's hockey is incredible this year.

@ shadedred: I take you never saw Kevin Johnson dunking over Hakeem Olajuwon, or John Starks dunking over both Horace Grant and Michael Jordan at the same time in the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals.

Why are people talking about H3 and Mass Effect. I thought this was about NBA Live 08. Anyways, hopefully EA's polished the gamplay up a bit, they've still got a ways to catch up to 2K Sports. I'm still looking forward to Live 08 though, because I don't think it could get any worse than Live 07.
