I think this ad was done by the same Japanese people that marketed the original Beatmania. Compare:

Does anyone know the U.S. release date? All I have seen is 2008. IGN just gave the UK version a great review so I am amped.

In Japan it's Winning Eleven, then it's released as PES in the UK and Europe only to be rebranded Winning Eleven again for the US.

Seems a silly thing to do and Konami have finally decided to ditch it. Hence the rebranding from PES7 to PES2008 across all territories.

Before everyone gets their panties in a bunch about how we Yanks use the term "soccer". We didn't invent it. The term comes from England in the late 1800s. From Wikipedia:

"The term soccer first appeared in the 1880s as a slang abbreviation of Association football"

In Europe the game is called Pro Evolution Soccer. In North America they started calling it Winning Eleven. But I guess they thought Winning Eleven 10 and Winning Eleven 11 would sound a little wierd so they went to its original name PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER!!!! i think EA should stop making Fifa cause the game play sucks all they have is graphics. Konami knows how to make a soccer game.
