After playing the Boot Camp tutorial, I immediately bought it. I think they really nailed down "arcade" style dog fighting and the style of the series pretty well. I was not pleased with the Wing Commander demo, but this is such an improvement. I cant imagine a Gradius or Aegis Wings style Battlestar Galactica game, I think this works really well. The controls are simple and fun and if I have one complaint is that it is easy to get lost with any lack of actual on the play field destination/target icon. I kept getting separated from the Raptor I need to escort and had a hard time locating it again with the radar. What were you expecting? Its an ARCADE title … I hope more people look past that its not a full blown flight sim/fps console type title and enjoy it for its fun and easy to pick up dog fighting game play + I want lots of folks to play online with! ^_^

Oh FRAK! Tried it. Hated it. In agreement with other posts...a waste of a great license. It's a disservice to fans to put out a game this bad. MS - don't let XBL Arcade become a dumping ground for junk games. I'm glad all Arcade games have a playable demo at least. I speak with my point$ and this one is a big NO. What a let down for gamers and BSG fans.

And I thought Wing Commander was bad... Why is it, developers can't seem to get the concept of putting a true flight 3D shooter on arcade. Arcade needs a flight shooter, in the spirit of Crimson Skies. If you want a free Battlestar Galactica shooter, download "Beyond the Red Line" for free on your PC. It uses the old Decent Freespace Engine and looks and plays like you'd expect. This was just as bad or worse than Wing Commander.

wow this new format makes it really eye-straining to read all the comments in a vertical bar. Plus now it takes longer to load the multiple pages of comments and we all know that this site goes down/slows regularly due to high traffic every time something exciting happens.

This battlestar game is unplayable and unfun. They just made a generic shooter which is supposed to be 3d but in fact has 2d style twisted metal linear shooting and driving. This would be fun if they had good level design like twisted metal but they have really boring unfun levels and stiff awkward controls. The game has almost no connection to battlestar except the ship designs. The fact that they want 800 points for this dud is an outrage. Give us TRON which was reviewed by xbox mag months ago but which keeps getting bumped for crap like yaris.

What a terrible game....after reading the comments here, I decided to download the demo and see for myself, and you are right...it is a fracking terrible game....what a waste of a download.

I didn't think to much of it. I would rather a sweet remake of R-Type. Classic gameplay... but with high def graphics. Now that would be cool.

Full disclosure: I haven't played this yet....

....buuuuut, I don't have to taste spoiled milk to know it's gone bad. For every BSG and WC: Arena game that I play, I think of about a billion other games that should really be on XBLA but aren't. Yes I know you aren't going to get everything you think should be on XBLA and tons more work goes into getting a "Streets of Rage" than one would realize. But if you sit back and think of all those old great games that you've played throughout the years, the ones that still hold up to this day and deserve a second life, it makes it that much harder to stomach these BattleStar Yaris' and Novadrones.
