Hi major, thanks for the info. When I tried to play Rockband earlier, it wouldn't move past the checking downloaded content screen. Trying to sign in from a second profile at that time, I got a blank dashboard screen (the one that comes in from the side). Then playing forza 2, itwouldn't move past the 'saving content' screen at the very beginning.

Are these things caused by what's going on, or is my console acting up?

Thanks for the update and for the dedication. Unfortunately I am still one of the ones affected, but I will be patient as long as I know it is being worked on. Thanks again.

i've not had those problems for a few days now. it's just matchmaking in cod4 now. but i know what you mean when major nelson and e were talking about the problems being a thing of the past...when clearly they are not!

I thought I'd try my 360 again, after leaving it off over most of the Xmas and New Year period due to the problems, There are still big problems here in the UK anyway. I turned it on, it started signing me in and I just got the little icon saying 'sparky123 signed into Live' or whatever it says, and then it just froze there, I had to power cycle the 360. I tried again, and it was kinda working, but everything was really slow, constantly sat there with a spinning circle for ages anytime I tried to browse any Markeplace content, download anything, even trying to get into my Arcade game took an age. The bizzare thing is that download speed for content was great, the problem was it was taking forever to navigate to the point where you could begin to download it :( I just thought it should be mentioned that I think there are still big problems, especially after listening to the podcast (first time listener) where it came across as though the problems were fixed. Despite these horrible problems over the holiday time, I must say that MS support has been quite good, I called up about the movie I wasn't able to watch after purchasing, and they immediately refunded the MS points. I suppose it is also good that it looks like were gonna get a free arcade game due to the issues, but really, I would prefer a working service right now in exchange for a free game, I'm sure the guys are working hard trying to fix it and doing the best they can, in the mean time it's back to the PS3 for now :(

Why are these guys in the podcast talking like there are only little problems here and there?

Are they on crack? XBL live service is crap, and to be honest Major suck pretty hard at the moment too.

Nothing gets done and he acts like this is normal. I think this is a DOS attack en MS doesn't want to admit they got pwned!

WHATEVER THE PROBLEM, TALK TO US!!!!! (and fix it, that would be nice....)

PS3 anyone?

Man, how am I supposed to show people I rock when I can only connect to 2 people a day if I am lucky?! Oh well, I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope I can unleash my inner rock legend amongst you all tomorrow. But I can't help but feel this isn't caused by massive use of the service. If it really is...SUCK IT UP AND GET MORE SERVERS. lol

What is happening? The support page on Xbox dot Com says that the XBL service is up and running but I and all of my friends are still experiencing massive issues with XBL. Slow/Frozen blades, long log into live, sometimes having to retry multiple times to log into live, issues with public games of GOW & COD4, XBL Status of friends not updating etc etc.... this issue sees to get resolved for a few hours and then slowly slides back into being a mess. Continuing issues for a week!!

Tried to play cod4 for 4 hours. After 2 hours could play in a private match. As soon as we tried a ranked match it crashed again. This was after frozen blades, multiple re-starts, can't connect to xbl messages. still needs some fixin i think.

Been trying to play COD4 for last 4 hours. After 2 hours we were able to play a private room, but as soon as we tried ranked matches it goes to crap. Also the blades kept locking up while sending invites, checking messages, or the famous "must be connected to xbl in order to play". definitely not fixed yet.

damn this is getting kinda bad now

still not working right

dashboard wont log in just goes round and round in circles

i hate to whine again but even a free arcade game dont make up for this

i cant even play my arcade games coz i cant sign in the dashboard lol

it really does need to be fixed xbox is starting to look really bad

its not that i want my money back i understand we have problems

but it needs 2 be fixed now people need to work over time

Um yeah... still having pretty major problems with Xbox Live up here in Canada as well. Can't access any marketplace content and I'm unable to perform the auto-update on Orange Box. Getting really, really tired of this folks... I understand that you're working in it. Seriously, it's good to hear that. Meanwhile, we're still paying for the service. No pressure...

xbox seems to be acting up again (not sure about live as a whole) but defidently on COD 4
